Domenico's has been around for decades now, and that it has out lasted many a competitor and chain restaurant is a testament to the owner's capability to consistently provide quality and relatively competitively priced cuisine. An unassuming store front, this restaurant at first makes you feel as if it is tiny, but as you walk past the take out and pizza counters, you enter the first dining area and then the whole building opens up to large open space packed with families enjoying their meals. Also the management/owners always seems to be on hand, and typically is there to great you, see you to your table, and even say goodbye on the way out- the personal touch always nice. Usually when I go to Domenico's it's because i'm looking for a little italian comfort food, chicken or eggplant parm, fried ravioli, fried zucchini - warm bread, carafes of your favorite beverage and so on. You never feel rushed and sometimes you see an old friend who may stop by quick. This a local joint and as such you get a feel for family here. Now this is not the top of the foodie chain, but I will say if you want to grab some good grub, and relax this Domenico's is for you. read more

My family has been coming here for years, but the recent addition of their gluten free menu has helped keep us coming back despite changes in dietary needs. Their eggplant Parm is truly the best I've ever had and it can be made gluten free too. The real winner was the gluten free pizza. It tasted so close to actual pizza crust that I even had to double check to see if it really was gluten free. Look for their deals on Living Social. When I used to work nearby, we ordered takeout quite a bit. The heroes were large and tasted great. Never ate in the place.Recently went there with a relative for dinner. Had a $40 Groupon. The waitress was not that friendly when she came over. No big deal. Neither of us ordered alcohol, and I got my standard chicken parm. It was ok, pretty much the same as most Pizzeria/Restaurants on LI. When we were done and asked for the check, she said that it came out to $40.04, but they would "eat" the change. We laughed. I handed her a $20 on the way out as a tip. She took it and was rather bland about it, which annoyed me for some reason. Granted, 20 bucks is not a big deal, but it should mean more when it's 50% of the bill. At least show some fake emotion. Bland service and ok food I can get closer to home. read more

I visited this establishment 2 times and the 2nd time I decided I will never return. The service is horrible. Just seem like my family was not welcomed. They tried rushing us out and we didn't even finish our food. My husband had to suggest is it ok for us to finish eating ( we were in the dining room). Went with a friend for lunch today. The staff is kind of smothering. Everywhere I turned there was a family member greeting me dressed as a normal citizen so I couldn't tell they worked there. It made me feel uncomfortable because their isn't any privacy. A guy greeted my friend by fixing his place mat and telling him "what's wrong with you?" which can be taken as a term of endearment but it is also kind of rude. I think there is just a disconnect between the restaurant and where you order your pizza because they act like 2 separate areas and maybe the staff is trying to work that out currently. The pizza is pretty good though, and the pizza staff seems kind and attentive. When we were told we could sit anywhere we decided to sit down where there was a booth and were stopped by a guy who picked a place for us to sit. Then they hovered around us right by the door the whole time. So we weren't allowed to sit where ever we wanted even though they said we could. I don't like this type of behavior because I just wanted to eat pizza, but was bombarded with what I should be doing as if theirs a standard. The front of this place seems casual but apparently once you cross over into the seating area, it gets "fancy." The booths are very close together and uncomfortable. Overall, it became an anxious experience where I felt like the people who worked there didn't want us there and were keeping tabs on us simply because we wanted to sit at a booth. The pizza! I got 2 spinach/ricotta slices which are huge and square, 3 garlic knots and a drink. The price came out to around 9$ which is amazing for the amount of tasty food you get here, especially in New York and well worth the price. The texture is great, crunchy bottom, thick dough, and cooked inside, and the taste was great! It wasn't greasy. It was just great pizza. The only problem is it could of been hotter but I think they really worry about having casual customers stay for more then 15 minutes. This restaurant gets 3 stars because it was "A-OK." I planned my office's Christmas party which also turned into a surprise retirement party for my boss. I coordinated with Dominic Jr. over the phone and with others while at the restaurant. Everything went smoothly and as planned. The food was great! Apps for the party were bruschetta and fried zucchini and everyone loved those. The guest of honor and his family were vegans (as am I) and they were very accommodating to us - best pasta in garlic and oil I've ever had. Others in our party had seafood, chicken, veal, and pasta and enjoyed their dishes as well. They also provided a cake for the party that was enjoyed by everyone! read more

I come here all of the time and do not have a single complaint. I always order a stuffed artichoke and ravioli parmesan and it is ALWAYS delicious. My family has been coming here for years and all of the staff is so friendly and accommodating. The portions are large and everything is reasonable priced. Their dessert comes from the Italian bakery next door (Dortoni's) and everything is to die for. This is our go-to restaurant, and we consider it like a second home to us. I sent a review a couple yrs ago after being a life time Levittown family customer who changed my view to the quality I knew as Domenico's. It went south and shared my perspective and questioned if it was the cooks... Bottom line in the past two weeks I have revisited my childhood family restaurant to share that they are back. Can't review the regular restaurant as I was there for a Christening celebration and it was held in a back room. The food was plentiful and very good. I don't get why this place takes reservations. Given the size of the dining room, all of Long Island would have to dine here at the same time for it to ever fill up. Anyway, food here is great. Worst sangria I EVER had I was so disappointed and I love sangria. It tastes like wine koolaid if you can imagine that. Since the sangria was so bad I ordered an espresso martini which was also gross it was bitter as hell tasted just like cold burned black coffee it shouldve been sweet not bitter I couldnt drink it. We had a surprise celebration here for my sister in law's 30th birthday. Not only was the food mostly delicious (the rigatoni ala vodka and the eggplant parmigiana were both amazing), but the staff was on point. My mother in law is not always the calmest or most laid back person, but they handled everything really well. I will said the garden salad left a little to be desired. Not only was it made predominantly of pieces of iceberg (including a big chunk of the base, which was kind of gross), but there were a couple pieces of black, rotted lettuce in mine. Not what I would expect given the quality of the rest of the food. Service was great, the owner was friendly, and I really enjoyed the event here. This place is much much larger than it appears from the outside and much classier than the immediate appearance of the pizza counter when you first walk in also. What a nice place. Came here on Saturday night with my wife and we loved it. The gluten free options for her were plentiful and made very close to the non-gluten free items and she enjoyed the shrimp parm dinner greatly. I thought my chicken parm was terrific as was the penne. The sauce is a little on the safe side, but still good. The service is outsdtanding. The owner came around in person to ask everyone how the meal was and this was good. The waitress was outstanding and patient. We had a fabulous time. The star missing is due to a bit bland on the sauce and the difficulty in finding the place as my GPS was nutty trying to explain getting in and the sign is impossible to see even from in the parking lot until you are entering the door. read more

What a wonderful day we had at Domenico's for Mother's Day today. Staff were very welcoming and we were never rushed- even though it was a holiday!!! We had Enza and she was on top of her game! Food is always, always hot and cooked to perfection. To start, we had very tender calamari and delicious stuffed mushrooms. Two of us ordered cheese ravioli- simply amazing. The other two in our party ordered veal scallopine and veal parm. The red sauce at Domenico's is always spot-on!! What I love the most is that the owners are present and walk from room to room to ensure that everyone is well taken care of. When you walk in, they greet you like they've known you for fifty years and they're always appreciative of your business! It's not easy to run a ship as tight as this place. See you soon! read more

I have been going to this restaurant for as long as I can remember for all special occasions and especially NYE. My family thinks of this restaurant as a second home and we have shared memories with family and friends here for years! The food: AMAZING! Everything I have ever tried has been fabulous! Definitely wouldn't recommend this place at all! We went here one night for an engagement celebration dinner and the food was absolutely terrible. I had spaghetti with meat sauce which looked identical to spaghetti with hard ground beef piled on top. There was literally no sauce at all! I had a large party with me and none of them were thrilled with their meal... and it definitely wasn't worth the $400ish bill. Horrible! Went there last night for dinner, 5/28/17. The baked clams were like chewing gum, and they had no flavor. The pizza was tasty, but you could put the access oil in your car engine. The one thing that made me give them only one star was the food poisoning I got from that horrible food, thanks! Never ever again. This place is awesome! Visited for the first time last week. I walked in 20min before closing, and was greeted by huge smiles, instead of sighs, which normally happens with late night customers. I felt bad walking in late, but the pizza was just calling to me as I walked by. What I loved most about the place is that the employees all seemed super happy to be working there, even when we weren't interacting with them. Happy employees means good management, which is rare these days. Also, even though they were all laughing and smiling with each other, they also paid great attention to us and showed much kindness. I ordered a few slices and they were all top quality, equivalent to some of the best nyc pizzas I'm used to. What a disappointment. I was the only client in there, amd 4 workers, not one person asked if i needed anything. Then a mam walks in after me amd got taken right away. I asked then where i go to order letting him know i was ready. A plain margarita slice was $3.45 which i think is expensive for such a simple slice, amd then i got at the little bar side and it was dirty. It's been years since my last visit, and I'm delighted to say nothing has changed! There staff was friendly, timely service, and professional. The food tastes very good, large portions, at reasonable prices. My wife and I went very basic today, ordering a Plain Pizza and spaghetti and meatballs. There meatballs were still so large! and had the same taste as when I used to dine here 25 plus years ago! I'd give 3.5 stars if I could but it doesn't allow me to make that option, it's a perfect place if you want good Italian food and don't want to spend $$$$ to take your family and loved ones out. read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch while in the area. The decor of this place is so out dated and the floor definitely looked like it had not been cleaned in some time. The cold antipasto was definitely "old school" Italian style and I wasn't expecting big pieces of anchovy but that might have been my mistake and I just removed them. Size of the small was enough to share and was happy enough with it. The really disappointing part is we both ordered chicken parmesan heroes and they were served on cold, not toasted bread. Ive been eating here for 10 years, but stopped about 4 years ago.They had the best pizza in town for years.But every 6 months or so we give them another try.
