My wife and I went here on Sat night. Got a table, no problem. The ambience of this establishment is excellent; with a part of the restaurant semi opened to the street. It's open , airy and gives you a nice feeling. Our server, Zach, was excellent. The drinks were good as well as the food. I had their signature dish, upon the waiters suggestion, the double cut pork chop. It was cooked to perfection, tasty and more importantly, definitely not dry. And did I mention, very large!! I had the suggested pistachio, crusted salmon, and it was fantastic. It was so moist light and fluffy. The flavor is blended perfectly. Filling but not over filling. Open airy restaurant for those who like good service and good menu assortment. Popped in for lunch and to check there event spacing option and availability. Hostess and seemingly shift manager at the time was gracious enough to check our suggested party date and space availability. Yes available so was walked over to the main center dinning area where my size party could be held. Decor is just enough without being over the top. Easily able to add a bit of party themed decorations with little restrictions, great! Took catering details and then sat for lunch to try some of their menu offerings. We started with the crispy Coconut Shrimp appetizer which was a good Large size and not greasy or burnt. Got to love clean frying oil ;) I then opted for the Grilled Shrimp & Goat cheese salad entrée and the Mr went for the Chicken BLT sandwich. Large portion sizes to easily bring half home for a 2nd meal. Too full to try any desserts but had a fair selection of items. Would consider going back to try more or even have an event at this location, easily. Only non-perk is the towns metered parking. So being prepared to look for functioning meter station and pay. Came here for a late dinner for two on a Monday night, no reservation needed and we were sat right away. This place isn't quite like all the other Italian places I've been to around the island that love to shape their atmosphere around brick and that old world Tuscan villa kind of vibe. It's much more modern and contemporary, and I actually kind of like that, even if the cheesiness of the others does give a nostalgic feel to me. There's some paid parking on the street and in a few nearby lots, and if you really want to stretch your legs there are a few free lots just a little bit further down the road. Our server, Jeffrey, was fantastic. On top of being very friendly and helpful, he checked in on us more than I can say for a lot of other restaurants! Sure it might have been a slow night, but he still made sure we were taken care of. Starting with some cocktails, my date got a glass of red wine and I got one of the seasonal cocktails, the Angel's Share, very bright and citrussy, I might not classify it as a fall drink per se, but it was delicious nonetheless. On to the food! They start you with some complimentary warm bread and garlic knots, which is always a good sign (make sure to save a slice for dipping is my word to wise). I got the grilled chicken with spinach and roasted peppers and my date got the ravioli pomodoro. The ravioli is as classic as it gets and I loved the plate they served it on, but we both agreed the chicken was the better of the too. A lot like chicken florentine and paired with some deliciously crispy potatoes, its not a dish to be slept on just because it isn't deep fried and covered in cheese. And on that point, one thing that actually really endears me to this place a little extra is their healthier options, like chicken meatballs, fish and veggie options, plenty of grilled over fried options, and a gluten free menu that's longer than anywhere else I've seen! The portions are also a bit un-italian, and what I mean is that they are not disgustingly huge, which is a good thing! Although I am a sucker for leftovers. We finished up dinner with the chocolate peanut butter cake as the perfect sweet treat. I'd be delighted to come back here and try out more of the menu anytime. read more

Here we go, As you know Butera has many locations. Butera is now in Bayshore. They have been there for some time now. It's located off Main street on 3rd Ave side street. There is a parking lot next door. Located up the block is a huge new apartment complex. Very convenient for ones who live in the area. Butera is also in walking distance of Long Island railroad and South Side Hospital. Nice place to get great food. My best friend and I decided we wanted to go to a new restaurant so we chose Butera. Great choice was made. The service was OK. I felt as though the tables were too close together. However the food was amazing. Real authentic Italian food. Of course the pricing was about 110 dollars but it was well worth it. For anyone who is looking for some great Italian food check out Butera's. It's worth every dime you spend. Not sure why it's taken me so long to try Butera's! I went here this past Friday with my dear friend, Emily B, to celebrate the end of her internship. At the recommendation of both her and our amazing waitress, Tara, I ordered the chicken BLT. I opted for the fries, which I, of course, dipped into the garlic aioli sauce that came with the sandwich. Each bite of the BLT was somehow better than the last. And the fries... wow. They had that rare yet perfect crisp that one can only hope for when ordering them. I came into this meal absolutely starving, yet the servings were so generously large that I ended up taking half of it to go! I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Tara again. She was so warm, down to earth, and absolutely genuine. As you can tell by their nearly perfect Yelp rating, their combo of great food and incredible service is surely a winning one. My family and I started with limoncello shrimp which was in a creamy sauce with almonds and the pesto calamari which was over broccoli rabe and cannelloni beans. Never have I had broccoli rabe cooked perfectly from a restaurant before. Only my grandma could do it but consider me impressed that Butera's knocked it out of the park. For my main I got the linguine with clams and again they were cooked perfectly. Not fishy at all, and not over cooked. The sauce wasn't so heavy that I felt like a brick after either. This was a phenomenal dinner. Our waiter was amazing, attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and was quick to refill a glass or bring some cheese. I had to spit out 3 different pieces of calamari that were unchewable, however to be fair the rest of my party enjoyed it. Definitely frozen food from restaurant depot. The penne ala vodka with chicken was unappetizing, my girlfriend just flat out stopped eating it. The 6 mini scallops I had were good piled on top of the 6 cups of risotto. Today we enjoyed our second visit to our new favorite restaurant. Nancy was our server and was very helpful. Nancy pointed out that all menu items are cooked to order so if we had any changes to be made they could accommodate us. We ordered appetizers and almost immediately changed our mind. Nancy was patient and polite about that. When ordering entrees, I ordered the gluten-free chicken and eggplant sorrentino and commented I'd love the veal dish but it's not gluten free. Nancy said no problem we will do the veal gluten free for you. WOW! It was very impressive to say the least. So, we ordered the short rib app and the flight of meatballs app. Our entrees were gluten free veal and eggplant sorrentino with corn penne and penne with chicken and shrimp in vodka sauce. Everything was delicious. The corn penne was even better than most pasta penne. The three different flavors in the flight of meatballs were remarkable, sweet and savory and spicy. We made reservations as we didn't know how crowded it would be on a Sunday night. When we walked in we were greeted instantly and we were brought to our table. James, our waiter for the evening came over and told us the specials of the evening. After hearing the specials, we changed our mind with what we were going to get. We actually ended up getting everything on the special menu. For our appetizer we got the Thai calamari. It was delicious! Very lightly fried and the Thai sauce was amazing. For my entree I got the pasta special. It had shrimp, clams, chorizo, tomatoes and shishito peppers in a garlic wine sauce. It was so flavorful! It sounds like it had a lot going on in the dish, but it was perfect and everything complimented each other well. My boyfriend ordered the fish special. It was a lightly crusted hake filet. Hake is a member of the cod family. It was very yummy. It came with Cavatappi pasta in a lobster sauce. Also super delicious! The bread served was also delish with the seasoned oil! Believe it or not, we still had room for dessert! I went with the rainbow cookie cheesecake and my boyfriend had the tiramisu. Both were great! The tiramisu was served in a cute little mason jar. All of the food we tried was delicious (especially the double cut pork chop).
