They've amped up the selections of pizza. Love the tricolor Vodka Grandma Slice! They participate in TGTG Surprise Bags. Love that! I hate to see food go to waste. Dinners never disappoint. We had a celebration here a few weeks ago. So we were seating in a private area up front. It was a little crowded but we made it work. It is a cute little Italian restaurant. The staff worked hard together. They first gave out garlic knots, they were so good! Next was the salad, also very good. The pasta was a little sweet for my liking. Then we all had ordered a main course. My boyfriend enjoyed the chicken parm. I had the eggplant rollatini but it just had too much cheese in and around it. The eggplant was too thin. Dinner entrees come with a large salad and one basket of garlic knots for the table. Menu is large. 100% probably the best pizza I've tried in Long Island so far. Really beautiful inside also. They had such creative slices, like a clam pizza and one with calamari. I stopped by Cafe Gio the other night and immediately realized it's been way too long! Sal was as hospitable as ever and my favorite waitress Shannon took great care of us as she always does! She keeps it real and is an absolute hoot. Sal absolutely crushed it as usual. I started with a rice ball (stuffed with bolognese meat sauce) and it was out of this world. I also tried one of his famous garlic knots with chicken parm stuffed inside.. wow.. incredible. Already feeling like I was on the brink of being stuffed and needing a nap, I ordered an avocado chicken salad and took half of it to go. It consisted of mixed greens, tossed with fresh avocado, grilled chicken, walnuts, dried cranberries & mandarin oranges. Walking into this pizzeria/restaurant, there was a great aroma of garlic in the air. The display window had beautiful looking pies but we were there for pasta night. It was quiet when we arrived and our waitress was a really nice young lady. I looked over the menu before we even got there and am happy to say that I would eat EVERY dish there. Fresh, hot, soft, pillowy garlic knots came out first. If their food is anything as good as their garlic knots, then we're in for a treat. I asked for baked clams which had nice toasty breadcrumbs on top and yummy whole clams. I ordered the rigatoni Ala gio, their signature dish with Italian sausage, broccoli rabe and sun dried tomatoes. My husband had the Belezza, fresh tomatoes, basil, marinara, fresh mozzarella in a pink cream sauce. He enjoyed it. We will be returning. read more

I tried the pizza and it's really good I really approve of this restaurant. I also had mozzarella sticks. The texture was really good too.

The staff was very nice, the restaurant looked very clean. The garlic knots were some of the best ones I've ever had- the dough was perfect. I didn't get a chance to try the pizza but the pasta was very good as well as the salad I ordered. The cannoli and cheesecake were also very tasty. We got our food and drinks quickly. I was a regular customer for years because the food was decent and they were nearby. They changed their counter staff recently and apparently their customer service practices as well. When there are so many other options available for pizza, one bad experience is enough. I won't be back. 2 stars because their food is pretty good. My wife went to a Cafe Gio to pick up a pizza. They tried to charge her $3 more than the Wednesday Special price. She questioned this, and the manager came over claiming they could change the price at any time. She rightfully corrected him saying not if you advertize the special price in your door window. He proceeded to pull the pizza from her, told her to leave and walked away. My wife called our after him questioning if this is the way he treats paying customers. Upon leaving my 70 year old wife was called a dirtbag by a female employees who was scraping the specials sign off the door window. My wife and I will never set foot in Cafe Gio again. If you do, tred lightly or prepare to be abused. I would give it zero stars if the App allowed. read more

Came here for dinner. The staff was extremely pleasant and the service was quick. We ordered our meals, Chicken Danielle and Chicken Parm Ala Vodka, and they gave us house salads as a starter. The dressing is made in house and was absolutely delicious! It was so good that we purchased a pint of salad dressing to go afterwards. The garlic knots are given inlou of Italian bread, but its for the better. These knots were warm, soft, garlicy. The meals were great. We shared both plates and they did not skimp on the portion size. Took food home and it made excellent leftovers the next day. We will definitely return here for more dinners. read more

Meatball sliders are great and the pizzettes I was told are enough for only one person but they are more than enough for two to share. Flavors we great on the gourmet pizzas but I would recommend some flavor to your crust...totally bland. I've been going to cafe gios for years, it has always been excellent, unfortunately my last dining experience was terrible. The food was cold , and had an awful after taste like soap, not just one dish it was everything we ate. It was very strange, we barely touched the food and sent it back. I was surprised that the manager or owner never came over to our table to speak to us, that's a red flag that they didn't care. Also they have been adding in the credit card charge on the entire bill, and don't remove it when you pay cash. So basically they are hoping you don't pick up on it, suffice to say I'm finished with cafe gio. read more

Prices are just a little too high i got a specialty garlic knot and it felt like it doubled the price of my meal where my usual joint charges 50 cents to a dollar for a special knot plus was served cold with beef this can get you sick if you don't have a good gut. These gimmick garlic knots should bring people back to the business not steer them away due to high pricing lower your prices you'll see more faces returning for a slice weekly. read more

For example their shrimp parm is around $33,00 for 5 pieces. go to Nonna Bella's for 21.95 and the food at Nonna Bella's is sooooo much better!!! The appetizer of fried calamari is about $17.00. Wound up here with a party of ten on a Sunday after seeing a play in Babylon. Our waitress was great and very attentive. The food though.... WOW. I AM ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED with anything al vodka and they pretty much had ala vodka everything! So they won my heart hands down. My boyfriend got the gnocchi ala Maria, which was a pink sauce, and I got the chicken ala vodka with rigantoni.... I ate the entire thing...... YIKES. Cafe Gio has amazing food and service. For starters this place has some of the BEST garlic knots in all of long island, the bread if fluffy and they are generous with butter and garlic for the perfect knot. I ordered pest pasta which was creamy and delicious! The serving size is huge and good enough for two, or for leftovers the next day!! Lastly, we ended the meal with chocolate cake which was very good. The food was great, and the service is EXCELLENT. Pizza here is decent, but apparently a large fountain drink, something that probably costs the restaurant about $.50, maybe $1, is $4.95. I was in shock when a regular slice, vodka grandma slice and large drink came up over $14. I get everything costs a little more now in 2022, but when a non-alcoholic, fountain soda costs more than the slice of pizza it's a bit ridiculous. read more
