We usually get there Italian and chicken Cutlet hero's for our superbowl parties because my son has a severe sesame seed allergy and they are really good at making sure they use seedless bread when we ask. When we picked up the hero's on Sunday we found that they had mistakingly put it on sesame bread. My wife called and they were truly sorry and asked us to come in for a refund. Long story short, when I arrived to get my refund I was greeted by Joy and Carlo they apologized again and knowing that it was going to be hard for me to find a replacement for the hero that late in the day they insisted on making a new one. Well not even 15 minutes later they had brand new hero's on seedless bread for us to leave with. Being in the service business myself, I now it's easy to make a mistake....and they could have simply returned my money and that would of been that. Instead... I came here this past Saturday night with a friend at around 8:45pm. I've been here a few times in the past (when I lived very close by). The reason for the visit, my fav Italian restaurant in Hicksville had a 1 hour wait so we were kind of in need of a no wait place to eat and fast because we were starving.. First off, looks are deceiving with this place size-wise. It's an extremely large place (actually too large for the turnout) considering the entrance looks like a hole in the wall. For starters, the waitress didn't look too enthused to serve us for some reason. Anyway, I ordered the chicken parm for 16.95 and my friend ordered this specialty dish of the night, bow tie pasta with shrimp, asparagus and some other green veggy for 19.95. Let's start with the Caesar salad that my dish came with, ok so it was edible but the lettuce was soggy and so were the croutons. You can tell it's been sitting around a while. If I wasn't starving this review on that salad would have been far worse. My chicken parm was sooo salty. I felt as if the cutlets were dipped in a salt mixture and then breaded and fried. I've been making cutlets for years and mine are way better by far (actually no comparison). Why so much salt??? An Italian restaurant that can't make a decent chicken parm?? My friends dish did not taste right at all.. The sauce was disgusting and everything was over-cooked. The waitress finally showed up 25 minutes after we received our food and asked us if everything was ok. I told her we weren't happy with any of it and her response was, "well why didn't u say anything?".. She was nowhere to be seen to say anything.. I suppose I should have gotten up and searched for her? Anyway, she really didn't seem to care much about it. There are far better Italian restaurants out there in the area. I came upon this restaurant by accident. The size and décor of the restaurant made me excited to try the food and I expected fine dining from the look of it. I couldn't have been more wrong. I opened up the menu to find something to order and there was an overwhelming amount of choices, but all were just simple options like "spaghetti and meatballs" and "spaghetti and sausage". It felt like I was ordering off the kids menu. When our food came (I ordered the rigatoni alla vodka), I was shocked by the portions. It was enough to feed about 3 people and the presentation looked like an amateur chef made it. The sauce tasted like marinara sauce and everything was plain. I met friends last night for dinner and show for $68.00. The show was Frank Sinatra. Good show, lousy food. Sauce had no taste, fish was serve with no lemon sauce. They served the fish in the same dish as macaroni and sauce. The dish was filled with water from straining the macaroni. Domenic should retire. Fitst time customers. My husband took me for a birthday dinner on Saturday evening a little before 6:30pm on 2/16/19. Wow is the front of the restaurant from the parking lot deceiving. When you go beyond the pizzeria and the booths (filled with people after we were seated) there were several rooms of tables for dining. The restaurant was packed by 6:45pm yet no one waited to be seated. I saw many of the customers greet the owner, who by the way, came to our table to say hello. He was seating people, assisting with serving and table bussing. Excellent service from all staff. I had the spinach ravioli in vodka sauce. Delicious. Italian cheese cake for dessert. I have never written on yelp before and find it upsetting when people destroy good restaurants. I have been going to Dominico's for over 35 years. I've had both my sisters and I baby & bridal showers. The food was always delicious no matter what you ordered. Over the past year or 2 when my family would eat there, there's a different feel. As if the restaurant was sold. There are some old workers there, maybe 1 or 2 but all of the wait staff are different and they aren't experienced like the staff they had for many many years. You never see the same faces there. Also different, there's never many people eating there. It was always packed. Even on week nights. The food now is NOT the same at all. I do not want to sound like bashing them. The chicken parm which was always my family's favorite tastes frozen and NOTHING like what it's ever been. The salad had brown pieces. The calamari was over cooked w no flavoring. Definately a frozen taste to the food. My husband always got the seafood pasta and he said that was chewy and frozen tasting. Really sad in many ways for us. Because we no longer can say we've been going there for over 35 years and love it there still. It was always our special occasion go to place also. My mom who moved to Fl. always looks forward to the chicken parm when she visits ny. Not any longer. I can say for sure I actually went at least 7 times to see if it was a off night. The best Italian Restaurant in Long Island! Their food is outstanding and you can tell all the products they use are high quality. I am a super picky eater and I can tell when food is low quality. The staff is super friendly and professional. The way I learned about the place was at a party I was invited and since then I just go there when I crave Italian food! Even if it takes me 45 minutes to drive there. The place is HUGE! You can even throw a wedding there... that's how big it is. If you ask me what's the most demanding food on the menu, Chicken Parm! Melts in your mouth and their handcrafted sauce... wow! I get so spoiled with the sauce that when I go to eat at another restaurant and taste a different marinara sauce... BIG DIFFERENCE! So people I highly recommend you to stop by and try it! I am not a frequent reviewer, but when something is worthy, I make huge deal about it! So, thank you Domenico's for your deliciousness! I've been here for conferences where real Italian food is served and also stopped by for a quick slice. Never disappointed, the service is always quick and cordial. They never rush warming a slice out of the oven so it's always steaming hot. This place is quickly becoming a regular Levittown staple. This is my second review as I did not see the first published The place is deceptively large as the entrance looks like a small pizza place. Behind that it is huge. When we went there it was crowded with several parties. Seated promptly at 7:30 we eventually got our menus and ordered. The food arrived at 9:00. If you plan to go there eat a meal before or all you will have is tasteless bread in a cold dinning room. The food finally arrives. The Pesto pasta was quite good, the veal francaise tough, the pasta and sauce served with it makes chef boyardee look like haute cuisine. All this time there is no indication that our meal was delayed or status. Talked to manager. His position was they were busy and short a waiter. There was no effort to try to help, just excuses. The service was good, the issue being how the restaurant was managed. Oh yes, by the time for dessert, only cannolis were left. We went there to get together with long time friends we did not see is some time. Even with adequate food it would be a fun time. This place turned that into a sour experience, but on the bright side, it gave us another common topic, to discus -- how bad this restaurant was. read more

I give this place 3 stars for a couple reasons. The food was good. I got the chicken parmigiana and it was pretty good. The fried zucchini was ok. The salad was ok too, the only thing is that they barely put any croutons in the salad. But overall the food was ok. The setup was good, a little rusty and broken though. I have been coming here since I was a small child in the 80s. I absolutely love the food, the owner is still there and he still comes around and asks us how are food is how we are doing. My favorite things to eat, pizza, eggplant parm, eggplant parm hero, spinach lasagna. Their sauce is AMAZING, delicious.. You would be surprised how big this place is. I've sat down and ate at this place many times but it seems that each time it gets a little worse. I was here on Saturday for my father in laws birthday and it was the general consensus of my party that the service and experienced was very bad. The food as always was good but there were just too many items in terms of service that fell far short. First we were seated in the corner of the cafeteria room which was annoying because the kitchen was right there and we had to over hear all the employees small talk and constantly had someone walking in or out of the kitchen. The waiter Shawn (Sean) told us he could make us whatever we wanted from the bar because he was the bar tender also but the first drink we ordered he couldn't make because he didn't have any chocolate liquor. Also under his breath but loud enough for us to hear he said he didn't know how to make a specific drink, and this seemed to be a theme because there were other times he spoke under his breath but loud enough for us all to hear. It took very long for us to get our entree order in like over an hour of us being there, we were literally done with our appetizers and our first round of drinks before he took our dinners. He was rude to one gentleman in our party by making him wait to order last saying he takes the girls order first which he could've phrased or done/said differently or at least said he was joking which he did not. Just very awkward. As he served us our dinners he asked if we wanted our salads with our dinner, which in most places you would have your salad before your dinner, I guess he forgot to bring out of salads before? I can go on and on about his awkward rudeness attitude he had but the last two were when he saw us going over the bill he interjected with an attitude that "he went over it five times and it's correct" (mind you previously during our dinner another client was going over/disputing his bill right next to us with an employee that we were able to over hear/over see because of where our seats where) but regardless the joke is on him because he was about $30 off on his math in our favor but that 30 doesn't compensate for the bad/awkward/rude/ weird service. He seemed to remark or sigh when he he saw that we reduced his tip because of said service. But the overall icing on the cake was when either the manager or owner came over to our table around 9:30pm telling us how they have a big party to set up for tomorrow and basically telling us to hurry up and leave lol when they say the dining room is supposed to be open to 11pm. So funny because if the service was better and on time maybe we would've been up and done by then. I apologize for the run ons here, the fact the food is good here saved them from a 1 star maybe at some point I'll be back there and maybe they can redeem themselves. read more

The calamari was delicious. Our large ceaser salad was soggy, not so good. Our entrees took at least 20 minutes after we finished our salads to come out...but they were steaming hot. which brings me back to the lack of service. I thought for sure I was on candid camera when they told me I couldn't order a simple glass of soda! They tried selling me a full carafe and a half carafe....... But you can NOT order just a glass of soda with your meal. This is completely ridiculous. However, I see the reason for this. It's the size of their extra small glasses. They don't have tall glasses so I guess this makes it hard to sell. So to fix this problem, order new glasses of the right size and serve you customers a glass of soda when they ask! read more
