Honesty is the best policy. My English is no good but I made sure to find someone to write this. It's not right to take people's money and run a salon like this. The owner and daughter mean well but this place is very unprofessional. Andy runs a daycare instead of a salon and expects customers to help with her job and babies. What I witnessed was customers get suprised with a new price after the fact. Andy has done this to me multiple times. Most of the customers told me they come as a last resort when their normal salons are booked. You can expect to spend 4 or more hours in a dirty salon (old food and garbage), while the stylist takes care of her kids and tries to do hair. The brushes are beat up and dirty as well. Your hair will be yanked and pulled. They do not use a net over the rollers which protects from knots and frizz which means extra blow drying and yanking. I witnessed customers all waiting on one stylist !!! Wet hair for 2 plus hours. They do this because it's not a lot of Dominican salons in Vegas. One thing about me is I like to get my hair done a lot, since I cut it short . I normally go to another Dominican salon, but she only works by appointments and she is done by the mid afternoon. Being that this shop takes walk-ins is a plus. Yes the prices are high compared to the east coast, but then again there are only three Dominican salons in Vegas. I went only because the other one was closed.. I was 2 minutes late and she had someone in her chair.. She politely asked if I don't mind waiting and she will get to me asap it was no problem I waited about 15 minutes and she attended to me with a smile on her face.. I just took out a sew in so not only was my hair very dirty it was not combed out.. She washed my hair and gave me a protein and keratin deep conditioner. As she combed my hair out she was speaking in Spanish she had no idea I understand spanish she says I just love her hair it's thick and healthy.. GREAT PLACE!!! Hands down best Dominican salon I've been to in a really long time. The salon was clean, spacious and well taken care of. I am a black Latina and was treated with nothing but respect from the time I entered the door. The stylists were very polite and chatty and I didn't get a racist vibe from either of them so I have no idea what those reviews were talking about. In fact, I have thin and damaged hair and am very used to stylist lecturing me about my sad hair but I didn't hear a peep from either of them. The owner's name is Eddi and she's very nice and knows a lot about hair. She was fast and knew what my hair needed as soon as I walked in. The stylist who washed my hair did a great job, three shampoos and deep conditioner and she used Authentic Dominican products that smelled amazing and they sell the same products in the salon. I will definitely come back and am disappointed that I almost didn't stop in because of the reviews about racist treatment. If I was able to give this place more than five stars I would. I made an appointment for my daughter. We showed up to her appointment an hour late due to heavy traffic and getting lost. I called and the person on the phone said no problem, I'll wait, still come in. When I arrived I greeted by a very friendly woman with a big smile named Andy. I hugged her immediately. I felt bad for being sooo late. When making the appointment; I had "failed" to tell Andy that my daughter is a natural with medium length hair. I knew it was going to take a while to do my daughter's hair. Andy looked at her hair and was like "no problem ". I was hesitant, we have been to several salons since moving here from the east coast and at best our hair has been "ok". But I kept an open mind. When making the appointment I did not intended on getting my hair done. Andy looked at my hair and politely suggested that since I have to wait for my daughter that I should consider getting my hair done too. I was thinking wow this is going to take a long time. We are going to be here for at least 4 hours or more. I am so glad I did, it didn't take long at all for both of us to get a Dominican blowout. All I have to say is, she went to WORK on my daughter's hair. Her hair is very thick African American hair and it's difficult to manage, but Andy did a wonderful job. Afterwards, my daughter loved her hair. Normally, she will have to pick with her hair a little more to achieve the look that she really wanted. She absolutely loved it. She didn't have to redo or pick with her hair when she got home. This is definitely a first. I was just as satisfied with my hair as well. Normally I do not wear my hair straight, because it's natural. I usually wear it curly, but I have to admit, I truly love the way Andy did my hair. We will definitely be going back every two weeks. I really wish I would have found Andy when I first moved to Vegas. I have no intention of going to any other stylist. We laughed and had great conversations the whole time. Andy is the best. The price was very reasonable. I was also given what to expect if we come very 2 weeks, so no surprises there. All i can say is that in the past, I have paid less and hated it. I've also paid double Andy's price and went home and washed my hair. In the end I was satisfied with the price and results. There are so many more great things I can say. I was really impressed. Absolutely blown away with the outcome of my hair !! After a bad experience with a previous salon while stationed in Oklahoma. I was so happy to come back to Vegas and see Grimilda. 08/25/2021 was my first and very last time at this salon. I am typically never the type to argue with anyone over the price they charge for a service. When I arrived (as a walk-in) I told her I wanted a wash and set. After my wash I requested a cut also. Once done she gives me a price of 170 dollars for a wash, set and layer cut. When asked, she explains there was an extra fee for length (double) and the cut was 40 then 30 dollars extra for a deep conditioner. I don't remember having a conversation with anyone about a 30 dollar conditioner. This was a prime example of price gouging. How relieved I was to find out about this shop because of the great job someone did on my sister's hair. We are African American, I am fluent in Spanish, my sister is not. At any rate the 'owner' 'Cruella 'said disrespectful, inconsiderate and just hateful things about everything and everyone in my family from my children, to their father and even complained about me not tipping her over the $75 she charged for my daughter's hair. At any rate, like a previous poster suggested, unless you understand spanish I AM WARNING YOU don't go to this salon unless you too have some severe form of self hate like the owner who is African too (but don't tell her) and enjoy being disrespected in a serious way. Most racist ignorant salon I have ever been too. I am Dominican and black and I am very fluent in Spanish. I am from NYC and have been to many Dominican salons and prices over there range from 30-60 (I have shoulder length and thick hair) So I told her about my mixed race and she told me that I must of gotten my bad hair from my black side. While washing my hair she was complaining that it was too thick and told me she didn't want to untangle my hair because it looked like hard work so I offered to do it for her so she can stop whining. She told me my dad (my black side) must have bad hair like that. Funny because he actually has very fine hair... STRIKE 1 !! During the time under the hair dryer her and her mother were talking about the other clients and how sad it was that black people hair is nasty and how can they be born that way. Mind you, most of the people in there are black and probably can't understand Spanish... STRIKE 2 After blow drying my hair I was impressed, she did a good job, I was just thinking about giving her a tip until she told me my hair came out ugly because I needed my ends trimmed. I told her I was fine and that I am satisfied with my hair and she kept telling me I needed one so my hair can look right. She then told me that she wouldn't charge me and that I should get it before she changes her mind. So I finally agreed. BIG mistake I made because I hated it after she cut my ends Then when it came time to pay she charged me an extra $15 for cutting my ends on top of the $70 for a wash and set because she said it was so much work untangling my thick hair and next time I come she would charge me less... First Dominican Salon I visited in Las Vegas since my move from DC. It's far but it's a nice salon. I haven't had any complaints about their salon but one. I don't receive a decent blow out like I would from DC. I get the blow outs and it last for 2-weeks if 3...but I just would like the same hair style from my Dominican salon in DC. I know different stylist but I just don't get it. It should be easy, next visit I have videos of the lady whom has been doing my hair in DC for 5-years. I am from New York where Dominican salons are a dime a dozen and in every hood. It's not hard to find a good salon. However in Las Vegas, the west coast rather, it is. I'm Afro Latina and if I walk into your typical "Spanish salon" they will talk about me in Spanish because I don't look "Mexican". Which is what they are apparently used to. So I found Dominican Destination and I'm very happy. I called and made an appt with Grimilda. I got there and the atmosphere is very comfortable and it's clean and totally reminded me of the salon I go to in New York. She used the same Dominican hair products that the salon in NY does and that I have at home. I got a wash and set/ blow dry and a trim. In Vegas visiting. This experience was not the worst I have had but mildly frustrating. 1. I make an appointment at 1:30. I arrive at 1:35 and the door is locked. I called the salon no answer. I called Grimilda's cell from a card posted on the door. She advises me she had to run pick up product and would be right back. So I wait. Not too long as she arrives after about 5 minutes. Ok. No biggie. It wasn't very hot out that day. 2. Grimilda arrives and we go in to the salon. I immediately notice there is no menu of services/list of prices posted anywhere so I ask. What is the cost of a wash and set with a deep condition? After pulling my hair down from my clip she tells me $85 with a $40 deep conditioner that 'has keratin and protein in it'. 1) keratin is protein and 2) there was no way I was paying $40 for a conditioner I had never heard of from a salon I had never been to. After I did not say yes, she mentioned she had $30, $20, and $10 conditioners. I chose a $10 conditioner and we commenced. 3. The wash was thorough. The deep condition may as well have been water with a thickening agent in it. I would have expected a little more for $10, not amazing, but not useless either. I have had $5 deep conditions at Dominican salons that were better. Then came the set. 4. My hair was tangled after that shampoo with what I am sure, based on all the suds, was not a sulfate free shampoo (I actually forgot to check seeing as I have the japanese straightening treatment). Thankfully she did not attempt to rip through it with the rattail. She actually whipped out this useful (although full of previous clients' hair) brush that she mentioned cost $100. After googling the brush, ULTA and Amazon actually agreed the same brush retailed for $26. Not sure what the point of that erroneous price information was. 5. So we get detangled and set and eventually dry. I say eventually because the super old dryer was hot and not in a good way. It was too close and concentrated in the center and was literally burning my scalp so we had to turn the heat down. This extended the dry time. So we eventually dried enough for the blowout. The blowout was PAINFUL! I had to jerk my head away twice due to the heat on my scalp. It was too much and I have had this service before and am not tender headed. It was just unnecessarily and unsafely HOT. I declined a flat iron because after that blowout set on HELL my hair was straight enough and had been exposed to enough heat. 6. Now the frustrating part. The ever-changing price. So at the beginning of this process the price quoted was $85 with the $40 conditioner I declined in favor of the $10. So the price should be $85-$30 which leaves us at $55. Which IMHO is grossly inflated in the first place. Being from the east coast, and having had this service in many areas including high cost areas like NYC, I feel this should have not cost over $40 under any circumstance. The salon is nowhere close to the strip, nothing special on the inside, and she used no product beyond the low grade conditioner I paid for. Nevertheless when I rise up to pay the price is $65. Really? In defiance of simple, straightforward math the price has risen by $10. 7.So I ask her why the change in price? Excuse 1: your hair is long. Response 1: you saw the length of my hair before you gave me the price. Excuse 2: the base price ($45) was based on you getting the $40 treatment because it makes your hair smoother which requires less effort from me later in the process. Response 2: none beyond awe and confusion at the attempt to price gouge yet another $10 out of me with such a nonsensical explanation. I have never heard of such differentiation in salon pricing. 'If you don't get the $40 deep condition the base price rises by $10'? Strange! 8. Eventually she gives up after dragging me to her friend to interpret because 'I did not understand her' even though I speak fluent Spanish. She just did not know that. So after this show, she agrees to allow me to pay $55. I was planning on giving her a $5 tip anyway so I told her we could split the difference and I would pay $60. What I planned on paying all along. Sum: My hair came out decent. Price is WAY inflated. Pricing is too unclear and owner is engaged in too much price differentiation/gouging. But I knew this was coming seeing as there were no prices posted in the salon anywhere. My recommendation: go here but work out a reasonable final price in advance. :) read more

I read a previous review where this East Coast woman complains about price and blow out process etc. A. I decided to go w Grimilda Gonzalez because I was afraid that the salons in the casino would not be able to deal w my type of hair. Big mistake!!!!!! I booked w her 1 year in advance, I also offered to pay her extra so that she would open her salon at 8 am vs 10am (her usual opening time) for me & my bridesmaids. Initially, she agreed to open earlier for us but as the date approached and I called her to confirm she told me that she would open her salon for me @ 9:30 and that I would have my hair done by 11:30 because she was going to hire extra help. So the day of my wedding, i show up @ the salon @ 9:40 (10 min late due to traffic) only to find out that she hadn't arrived, she shows up @ 10:07 am. She than proceeds to work on my hair very slowly claiming that I would be done by 11:30, @ 12 pm I was still under her hair dryer which is outdated and doesn't even get as hot as most dryers do, @ 12 I started to panic because I was still under the dryer, my 2 bridesmaids were not ready as well, & my wedding was due to start @ 3pm, all while I was under the dryer she was disrespectful and plain rude. She even had the nerve to say that she would've opened her salon earlier for a fee when it was her who canceled that option for me stating that she hired 2 other stylist, that never never showed up!!!'. She had her daughter there who clearly is not a stylist but a shampoo girl. I was so sad and worried that I began to cry out of frustration!!! Only then did she take pity on me and had her daughter finish my hair by curling what was still wet (2 hr under hair dryer!!!) with a curling iron. When I was completed she decided to overcharge me for having to use the curling iron on my hair!!!!! I just wanted to run outta there so I paid and speed back to my hotel. I had to leave my bridesmaids behind and I later found out that they too were overcharged. Eg: she quoted that a hairstyle would range b/w 65-75 and she charged us all 100+++. I went to Vegas last minute the weekend of the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight and I needed to get my hair done ASAP. I searched yelp and found this salon. I read the reviews and I was like ok I'll try it. I went there straight from the airport and got there a little after 5 and they close at 6. I asked if it was to late and with hesitation Andy asked where was I from, I said NJ straight off the plane. I was so relieved when she said ok come on. She was so nice. She washed my hair and used this great conditioner (so good I really need to know if they sell it, I need it here in NJ). When I first moved to Vegas, seven years ago, I went to different stylist in Vegas and everyone flat ironed my hair and didn't inform me of products to care for my hair in Vegas heat. Consequently, my hair broke off; so I decided to do extensions. I faithfully wore extension for a year hoping to give my hair a break, allowing it to recover. That didn't work and my hair got worse! A New York native, friend living out here, started going to this place and recommended them to me. Her hair was always so beautiful so I decided to give them a try. From the first time I went to this salon, I have never been anywhere else!! They were a God send! They are so super cheap!! $45 for a wash and set (for medium length hair). Coming from the East coast I was excited to finally get a recommendation for a Dominican salon. I called and asked for an appointment with Grimelda for my daughter, I was told that she was away for a few months and she's the only stylist so I made an appointment with Andi. I worked the next day so my husband dropped my daughter off at 11 her appointment time. At 2pm she texted me with a picture under the dryer. It isn't uncommon for a wash and blow out to take 3 hours so I told her she would be next. 3 hours later my daughter text to tell me she's still waiting. I called and spoke with Andi, to figure out where the communication went wrong, there shouldn't be a 6 hour wait for a wash and blow out. She apologized as it was busy and she had no help that day and told me my child was next. This should have been the end, except my daughter informed me that as she finished her hair which only took an additional 20 minutes, Andi proceeded to bad mouth me to her other customers which I found very unprofessional at least wait until my daughter leaves. She charged my husband $75 no discount rate for wait. I understand how salons work but my husband took her, he didn't give her any snacks or drinks, breakfast was 7, she's hungry, thirsty and sees ladies being taken before her so yes I'm concern. I gave 2 instead of 1 because her hair was pretty but they lost new faithful customers due to rudeness. read more
