Not sure what happened since we were there four months ago, but the latest order for family was not worth the prices. Eggplant parm was mediocre; chicken same thing; garlic rolls were hard; pasta ok; salad was disgraceful-- mostly iceberg lettuce, some too old, some odd stuff that was supposed to be dressing? Where's the Romaine lettuce? Isn't this an Italian restaurant? We'll be going to Mama Mia's next time, who always has excellent food. read more

Dominic's is a small, classic, family style Italian restaurant. It's dark, romantic, and comfortable for a date or family gatherings. The staff is extremely welcoming and make you feel like you are right at home. They are quick to take your order and get drinks as well which is always appreciated. The food itself is delicious. Their entrees are offered with a starter soup or salad. I opted for the pasta fagioli and was pleasantly surprised. I usually am not one for soup, but this tasted so fresh I ate nearly the entire bowl! For my main course I went with the traditional chicken parm. I love the freedom to customize the side pasta because everyone is so different. I opted for angel hair pasta and red sauce. The portion was huge and it was fantastic. Dominic's was recommended to me by a friend in Boca. Lucky for me they have a location nearby! I ordered pizza delivery from here, and was very pleased! Delivery was quick and pizza arrived hot. I ordered a medium garden pizza, which had green peppers, yellow squash, onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes on top. It was delicious. Crust was soft and chewy, but still had a bite. Toppings were fresh, not from a can. I also got a half dozen garlic rolls, and they were great! Soft, but crisp with just the right amount of garlic and oil. Ive come in here before and had absolutely no problem as a doordasher. Whenever the curly headed young kid at the front is obnoxious and should not be working in customer service. I explained to him that the DoorDash tickets should be on the outside of the bag for my own benefit, he insisted on snatching it from my hand and trying to put it back in the bag. When I told him there was no reason for his disrespect, he told me to quote "go fuck yourself". I tried a Chicken Parm plate with prosciutto on top a little salty to my taste, so put it on he side and ate the rest, tender chicken with flavorful tomato sauce. Pasta on the side was simple with tomate spice but also delicious. House salad is nice complement for dinner The garlic rolls, however, found it overloaded with grated garlic that made me taste it for hours after the meal, not my thing but my BF really enjoyed. The pizza is made with quality ingredients and the dough considering they are using Florida water was good! The entrees are very large portions the chicken and veal dishes come w choice of soup or salad and pasta. The chicken scarp and chicken parm were both very good. I had Dominic's pizza many years ago and though it was tasty the pizza was too much for my stomach and I hadn't thought about Dominic's since then till recently. I was getting my nails done nearby and smelled the food and was set to eat there. I'm glad I did. The garlic bread was fresh and warm and soft. The calamari was delicious and had a large portion which I appreciate. All the entrees my family ordered was large portions and fresh. I had the veal sorrentino and it was to die for. The egg plant was tender, the veal cut like butter... very delicious. Service was also great and friendly but the only two things I would nitpick which is why they got a 4 instead of 5 was the alcoholic beverages were way too strong which don't get me wrong, I don't like being skimped on alcohol but it was too overpowering to even know what I was drinking and same for my husband. My other nitpick was they forgot my soup but I forgot it to till afterwards so like I said, small complaints. I'll definitely go back to try other entrees. read more

The food here is absolutely amazing--this was one of my favorite spots, especially the Snapper Francese. It is warm and cozy, a perfect night out for pasta. However, both times I visited, the staff made me feel very uncomfortable. On my first visit, I noticed staff in the back looking at my guest and me, snickering, and making a rude remark, asking if "anyone spoke Haitian." It was offensive and completely inappropriate to assume we spoke Creole just because we're Black--especially since we don't. On my second visit, I placed a to-go order over the phone, and the order was read back to me correctly. When my guest and I picked it up and paid, we didn't think to double-check it, but when we got home, we realized half of the order was missing. When we called to see if we could pick up the rest, the staff member we spoke with was dismissive and passive-aggressive, simply saying, "You were never charged for that, so if you want it, it'll be (X amount) plus tax." While mistakes happen, I expected more accountability and grace in handling the situation. As much as I love the food, the unwelcoming treatment from the staff makes it hard for me to return. Dominic's was easy to like especially with the nice service, casual and comfortable atmosphere and reasonable prices and while I don't think it's worthy of going out of the way for its fine if you are in the vicinity. My food was pretty good and I guess this is more of a three star restaurant but because of the aforementioned attributes I give it a four. They offer free Garlic Rolls but though they were yeasty they were still okay. The Chicken Francese was fine and comes with a side of pasta that was way overcooked. Pizza was also okay but the cheese quality was lacking. Dominic's is okay and there are better restaurants nearby but many that are inferior. read more

Pop invited me to dinner and chose Dominic's. Not gonna lie, I didn't have the best memories of this place, but it's been maybe 13 years since I've eaten here. So I decided to give it a shot, especially since pop was paying. The place is pretty large with ample outdoor seating. I was surprised that the hostess sat as so far from the entrance , considering that we were the only group in the restaurant at the time, but pop liked the table so all is good. Our server Jackie, from New Jersey, was awesome. Funny and friendly she was able to get my complaining, grouchy pop to smile and laugh, that in itself was tip worthy. But honestly, she was very nice and made it a really enjoyable experience along with some really tasty food. My pasta e fagioli was very tasty. A decent sized bowl with warm fresh garlic rolls. My shrimp parmigiana was pleasantly yummy. 5 large fried shrimp, smothered in mozzarella and sauce. My only tiny complaint was the pasta side portion. It seemed a bit small, very tasty, but a little bigger portion would've been nicer. Overall the meal was very nice and I did truly enjoy myself. Would I go back ? Yes. I definitely recommend this eatery for some tasty homemade Italian delicacies. read more

We chose Dominic's because a few folks at our place recommended it, not gonna trust them again, lol. Italian food in this part of Florida use to be a crap shoot but has gotten better over the years. This place fell into that old category of places serving entirely bland and inauthentic ethnic food to an undemanding elderly crowd. Those around us seemed to be regulars and were taking home doggie bags for the large portions. This was perhaps the worst Italian food that I've ever paid for and a restaurant like this wouldn't last a few months up north or anywhere that has an Italian American population. I won't even go into any food descriptions but how do you screw up lasagna or chicken parm?! A must to avoid with so many other choices in the area. read more

Italian. Let's call this a 2.5 rating. Dominic's sits on the apex of a busy strip mall on Congress and offers both indoor / outdoor seating. The restaurant lies primarily to the left of the pizza / to-go counter, which you encounter when you first walk in. Outdoor seating rings the perimeter of the dining room and gives a lovely view of the parking lot. I've tried both take-out pizza and sit down here, and both experiences were just ok. The pizza was just ok - a little doughy, nothing horrible, nor nothing great. The grease was minimal so there's that. The sit-down experience was somewhat better, with food that was what I would call hit or miss. Garlic knots came out with a crazy amount of garlic, which I personally prefer, but the caprese salad was meh... store bought tomato, weak mozzarella and bland basil. Our waiter was interesting - we called him the "drive-by guy", as he hardly stopped by our table but instead, would just talk to you as he walked by. He got everything right and obviously heard us fine and all, but he just kept on trucking. Can we have grated cheese - zoom, drops cheese as he goes back in the other direction... I found it amusing, the wife, not so much. I can see her point - the place was not busy. The salads that come with the meal are of the bagged variety and appeared pre-made. Zoom, dropped on table by the drive-by guy. Mains were about 50-50. Linguine with clams (white sauce) was better than average with a nice amount of clams, but the baked ziti was sauced with an extremely sweet red sauce. The sauce bordered on nasty.
