I was in the search of delicious but also healthier option food after visiting my mom in Boynton Beach and knew I had to stop by Agliolios! They were pretty busy around 7PM on a Thursday but we were sat almost immediately and I started browsing their wide selection of choices in their menu. I got the pastability with bolognese sauce and zoodles in some marinara sauce and it hit the spot 100%! It came out hot and fresh. My boyfriend got the chicken Marsala and added mozzarella so it was a yummy smothered chicken and got some penne in his pastability. He got such a good deal considering he paid $25ish for a protein, pasta side, a salad and bread! You can't find deals like that now a days. The staff was very friendly and kept refilling our drinks consistently. The inside wasn't too loud and the booths are comfy to sit in. Our waotress was Christie. She was great. She knew the menu and very attentive. Party of 3, ordered shrimp parm, chicken parm, & a special which was parm crusted mahi. Portions were large. Chicken Parm and the mahi were very overpowered by oil. Soggy & Not very well pan fried. The mahia was barely Crusted w/ a parm, while the breading was oil soaked. Ended up peeling the breading off to get rid of the spongy Oil soaked Coating. Heard good things about this place but maybe tonite was a bad day. Bad luck, New cook. One of our favorite Italian dining spots , while in Fla. Their extensive menu is mind boggling. Along with 'special' offerings of the day their menu offers the diner the options of selecting their preferred pasta type( all made on premise), a variety of sauces , meat/veggie additions . Their garlic bread brought to the table at the start wets one's appetite at the start. You can choose a salad or soup to go along with your meal.. and if you can handle it.. a selection of appetizers is available. I went here for the first time on date night this evening and I couldn't believe that I've lived in Boynton all these years and this was my first time here. It's a cute twist on Italian cuisines. The atmosphere was fun and our waiter was sweet. They have a summer menu going on now which I ordered the 1/2 order of chicken parm and it came with the house salad and penne with marinara for $13.99. Our waiter brought out fresh bread and a vase of water to the table. My husband and I also split an Amaretto Sour which was very good. Although I ordered the chicken parm, what came to my table was eggplant rottilini. I didn't notice it at first because with the cheese and marinara, it looked like chicken parm. I ended up keeping it and had this as my meal instead of having our waitress take it back as it was tasty. (This was also on the summer deal menu for &13.99 ) My husband ordered the Saltinbocca chicken which is slightly breaded chicken topped with mozzarella and prosciutto which he enjoyed. What a great find. Good food at a good price. The menu has many choices. You pick a main dish and then you can build a pasta side (included in the price of the entree). For the side you pick the type of pasta you would like. In addition to traditional pasta, they offer whole wheat, chickpea and vegetable pastas. Then you pick a sauce and can add vegetables at no extra charge. There is an up charge if you want to add a protein. The chicken parmigiana was soft and very tasty. You can get a half or whole order. In addition to pasta, entrees come with choice of house or Cesar salad and garlic bread. Our server Kattrina was exceptional as was the other staff we encountered. I ordered Ceasars with dressing on the side. Mine came with dressing. Second, choose your main courses. I chose the eggplant rollatini. It was quite good, though a little crispy. This was our first time back in while. I ordered the Caesar salad and build your own pasta. The salad was very fresh with nice dark romaine lettuce and fresh croutons. They make their own croutons on site. The bread with olive oil was warm and delicious. I had a glass the Ruffino Pinot Grigio. It was light and crisp. My pasta dish consisted of angel hair pasta with extra garlic, spinach and grilled chicken. The pasta was al dente and yummy. Always an excellent experience at Agliolio's! We had a reservation and were seated as soon as we got there. It was a full house inside but the service made you feel like you were the only table there. For dinner I had the chicken parm and make your own pasta-bility. The chicken was a nice portion and flavorful. My pasta I did the scampi sauce - which I probably wouldn't order again as it was not my favorite but I love that you can try something new each time and create your own pasta. I had a house salad and bread drizzled with what would assume to be olive oil. It was fine. So I built the pasta dish I wanted. Fettuccine Alfredo with sliced sausage. I elected four vegetables combined into the entree: broccoli, spinach, zucchini and mushrooms. I also doubled the order for $3 extra. I didn't quite think you really received double the portion but for only $3 more you can't complain too much. I will say that the vegetables were minuscule so it was hard to identify them. The dish although not fancy was satisfying and cozy. I had chocolate lasagna for dessert. Something different but don't think I was order again. The service was good though. It was a really nice sized piece of chicken, pounded thin, good quality, with a nice light batter, light sauce, lots of capers. Very lemony, which I love. Super tasty. Came with their signature "pasta-bilities" side dish...you pick the type of pasta, the sauce, the veggies in it. Six of us showed up on a Monday night at 6pm and the joint was hopping! By the end of our stay, we understood why. The food was great, the service was very attentive (considering the crowds) and the price was right! The menu might take a minute to absorb - you can build your own dishes by selecting from various categories. We had the homemade fettuccini pasta with a francese sauce and it was very nice - just enough lemon and went well with our veggie add-ins. Our friends ordered the fruit di mare - they split an order and it was enough for them with a salad and the garlic bread that's served. We had the pasta e fagioli soup and it was very good. Not exactly like my mom's but delicious nonetheless. We also split our pasta but I wish we'd ordered the large instead of the regular portion. I did not enjoy the cocktail but was weary about the wine selection but my Chardonnay was actually pretty good. The atmosphere is very family dining style with large tables and large plates. My mom and I shared one meal and it was plenty. The menu is very unique in that you can literally build whatever flavors combos you want for your meal including meat, veggies, sauce and pasta which can be overwhelming but also fun. I've been eating at Agliolio since they opened their first location in Wellington. I've been to the Boynton Beach location on several locations. I've been to the new Wellington location on 441 many times. Agliolio has always been my most favorite Italian restaurant in Palm Beach County. Of the three locations, I think my favorite is the 441 location. Mainly because I tend to like to eat at the bar and they have the largest bar of the three of them. So when the time came for us to need a place to host 24 people for our daughter's Confirmation dinner, we instantly thought of Agliolio. Agliolio has been on my "must-try" list for a while now, thanks to a friend of a friend who won't stop raving about it and calls it the "best" Italian restaurant in South Florida. Now we all know that here in the land of snowbirds, King's Point, and horrible drivers, there's an Italian restaurant every 1500 feet, so calling one the "best" is really setting the bar high. So, on a Sunday night, my friends and I decided to see if it truly earns that title. We arrived around 7:15 pm, and it wasn't that busy. They offer indoor seating, bar seating, and outdoor tables - but let's be real, eating outside in the summer in South Florida is reserved for those into S&M. We asked for a booth and were given one the size of a small bus. Our server, a friendly and attentive soul, introduced herself, poured some bottled tap water, and took our drink orders. The menu is huge. It's got a ton of starters to share, build-your-own pasta with a gazillion different choices for toppings, proteins, and sauces, and the same type of build-your-own entrée with chicken, veal, and seafood. There are even veggie options if that's your thing. It was almost overwhelming, but in a good way - it's like the Cheesecake Factory of Italian food, minus the 40-page novella of a menu. We started with the fried zucchini - a bunch of diced pieces lightly breaded in what tasted exactly like Progresso breadcrumbs, served with a dipping sauce. They weren't bad, reminiscent of my mother's homemade cooking (and she was a terrible cook). Were they good? They were okay. Crunchy, lightly seasoned, and kind of nostalgic. I'd prefer them to not be zucchini slices rather than zucchini "chunks." Next up was the bruschetta made with their "garlicky" bruschetta and mozzarella toast - housemade bread topped with cheese, tomatoes, and basil and of course, garlic. It was loaded with cheese, could've used more tomatoes, but overall, it was good with nice soft bread with a crispy crust. The bread was the real star here - fresh, slightly chewy, with a perfect golden crust. It almost stole the show from the toppings. Speaking of bread... the "fresh garlic bread" they bring out with the entrées is very underwhelming for an Italian restaurant. The bread is just a few slices of thin baguette that was swimming in olive oil and we couldn't find anything to do with garlic. Thankfully, the previously mentioned bruschetta bread was much better. Our entrées came with a house salad that was a bit on the anemic side. I like my salad cold; this was warm. The lettuce mix wasn't crisp, and the dressing it came already tossed in was mostly oil and lacked flavor. A little salt and pepper helped, but the salad was not great. It felt like an afterthought, which was a letdown because I had high hopes after the decent appetizers. For our entrées, two of us chose the chicken saltimbocca, which was a lightly breaded chicken breast topped with mozzarella and prosciutto in a lemon- white wine sauce. I got that with fusilli pasta caponata sauce, which had a nice mix of vegetables in it. The chicken was tender and juicy, the prosciutto added a nice saltiness, and the lemon sauce tied everything together beautifully. The fusilli pasta caponata was a pleasant surprise - the vegetables were cooked perfectly, not too soft, with a nice mix of flavors. The Another diner went with penne with the Sunday gravy (upcharge), which had a meatball, sausage and bolognese sauce. The meatball was good and flavorful, and the bolognese sauce was rich and hearty. The last diner opted for a plain breaded chicken breast with a side of fettuccine Alfredo. The Alfredo sauce was creamy and delicious, coating each fettuccine strand perfectly. The chicken on all three dishes was good and flavorful, and the portions were very generous. We all enjoyed our meals, except for the salad. Prices were reasonable, almost on par with - forgive me - Olive Garden. For the quality and portion sizes, it's a great value. Now, was this the "best" Italian restaurant in South Florida? Not by a long shot. But it was good, and it will definitely go into the regular rotation of spots I eat at for sure. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, with a casual vibe that made us feel right at home. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and our server checked in on us regularly without interrupting our conversation. All in all, Agliolio may not be the "best" Italian spot in South Florida, but it's certainly a solid choice. It's the kind of place where you know you'll get a good meal at a fair price, with a relaxed atmosphere perfect for a night out with friends. I'll be back, and who knows, maybe next time I'll try one of their build-your-own pasta dishes or venture into their seafood options. Until then, Agliolio has earned a spot in my dining rotation - and that's no small feat in the land of endless Italian eateries. read more
