One of the problems with reviewing food is how subjective it is; so let's start out with the understanding that this isn't your favorite pizzeria where the flour-covered fellow spins the dough high in the air (think Cosmo's back in the '60s and '70s, Johnny's in the '80s and '90s). Rather, this is big-corporate food -- and Domino's is a better than average example. To my taste, they're distinctly better than Little Caesar's, and more consistent than Pizza Hut. The Domino's in Nottingham Plaza handles both delivery and take-out orders; you can't eat on site. I order online for pickup, which means I periodically earn free pizzas; while it's not as spontaneous as picking up the phone, it's a very good way to make sure your order really reflects what you intend. I order online every several weeks or so, and their accuracy has been 100%: not a single error in at least sixty orders over the last few years. That's pretty impressive, considering that I usually order several pizzas with different toppings. Consistency is a fairly strong point for this store: there isn't a great deal of variation in portion sizes, flavor, or doneness from visit to visit. I suspect that much of this comes from strict corporate standards for ingredients and preparation, and from belt-fed ovens that pretty much guarantee that each pie gets the right amount of bake time even if the staff gets busy. The pizza itself is serviceable but unremarkable. The crust is yeasty and a bit more bread-like than I would prefer, and the rim has hint of garlic and possibly parmesan. The tomato sauce is moderately spicy and pleasant (unlike Little Caesar's, which tends to be bitter). I usually choose their sausage, bacon, ham, or pepperoni -- each of which is pretty good, but not an example of top-of-the-line. The cheese is reasonably proportioned, and ties everything together well. If I'm tired after a long day, this makes for a pretty good and easy meal. Other offerings include stuffed cheese bread and cinnamon breadsticks, both of which are actually better than the pizza. If it weren't frowned upon, I could probably make my whole meal from the cinnamon breadsticks. The penne pasta is a decent choice if you don't want pizza: nicely baked, with plenty of toppings. They aren't any threat to Angotti's or Francesca's, but again we're talking about quick carry-out food here. I can't give feedback about their delivery service (I live outside the delivery area), but the drivers seem pleasant enough as I encounter them in the store. Given the amount of crime in the area, that's one job I'm glad I don't do! The staff in the store has been generally quite pleasant and efficient over the years; that's remarkable considering some of the less than pleasant customers I've watched from time to time. Bottom line: if you're looking for reliable and better-than-average corporate pizza, this Domino's location is been a good source. If you are after an experience in fine Italian dining, this probably isn't what you're after. read more

I always do a takeout from here. Reading all the other negative reviews for delivery, I believe that people should opt for takeout instead of the driver messing up the order. I see that they might be under pressure to do multiple deliveries as Domino's has its own delivery drivers. Whenever I had pizzas from here, I've never had any complaints. I ordered a pizza and some Parmesan bites last night. I waited for extra time, which I was fine with because the roads weren't great and I'm not usually the person to leave reviews. When I saw the driver was nearby, I went downstairs but was unable to answer the phone due to being in an elevator. I had left a note saying that since it was cold, it was fine to just leave it outside, and I would come grab it, no need to wait for me. I called the number back when I got off the elevator, as I did not see the pizza outside anywhere. When the phone was answered, I was immediately berated by the driver and was told that when he calls, he expects me to answer. He also told me that he was outside in the parking lot, where I said I would come and grab the pizza from him. When I went outside, he was not there, so I attempted to call the number back with no answer. I then decided to just call the store and see if they have updates. They placed me on hold and never answered the phone. I continued waiting and eventually saw a car pull up outside. I wasnt sure if it was a delivery driver since the car was not marked, so I did not go outside. After around five more minutes, I saw the driver get out and deliver the pizza. I don't typically write reviews, but this was a horrible experience. I hope that others are treated better in the future. read more

I had to keep calling the store and they kept saying they sending it out and I never received my sauce. (It's whatever) but this is the worse service I have received. Said it would take 15 min until I was waiting in my power puff girls pajamas outside for 40 min waiting for a pizza and two water which was room temperature. I am beyond frustrated. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. The service was extremely harsh. My man looked higher than a kite and smelt like marijuana and flex seal. I ordered my meal at about 12:50 and watched the domino's tracker. The tracker indicated that my meal was done around 1:07 am. It's now 3am, my meal has not been delivered and I've received no updates about my food. This is absolutely unacceptable for a store to pull this type of crap. This Domino's permitted the theft of my. pizza points by refusing to cancel the order fraudulently made by the hacking of my Domino's account. To clarify: I received an email that my order had been placed and would soon be on its way. Only I live in West Virginia and someone in Syracuse would be getting a free pizza by using my points I had earned by being a loyal customer. I called the store, alerted them to the problem. They agreed to cancel the order, which would restore my points, and tell the purchaser he needed to pay cash. I agreed this was an acceptable resolution. We hung up. I proceeded to change my password to the Domino's app. I received a return phone call moments later advising that the supervisor refused to cancel the order. I asked for her name. They could not give it to me. I was advised to call corporate. I asked for the number. I was told to Google it. I contacted corporate, who told me there was no problem with the Domino's app, the issue was that of people getting passwords on the internet and using them, and that I needed to change my password. I have asked numerous times about the restoration of my pizza points, to no avail. So, this store is a great place to go if your fraudulently purchasing pizza, because they will back you up. read more

I have ordered here many times for delivery and pick-up. They are generally very prompt with delivery and the one time they were not I was compensated with not only a free order but an extra two liter soda, as well. Drivers are always very polite. Once I had a large pick-up order for a party and they got everything right and ready on time. Their wings are decent these days and side items, like the boneless chicken wings, lava cakes and bread twists are excellent. I prefer to order online because their menu is easy to navigate and their specials are right on the site. I would definitely recommend Dominos on Nottingham Road. read more

The food was good, but i was very unhappy with the delivery service. Considering a $2.99 delivery charge on top of the tip provided to the driver, it baffles me that the driver did not come to my front door. I literally got a phone call from the driver stating that he was outside. Once I opened the door, I noticed that he had not even made any kind of effort to exit his vehicle, which was parked on the road. I only live 5 minutes from this location. Our driver messed up our order, said he'd give us money back & never did. He ended up bringing what we were missing but made my sister go to the car & get it like it was her fault he messed up. Staff is very unfriendly to customers. They actually argue amongst each other in front of customers. Rude and unprofessional. There is a woman in there that really acts like she hates her job. One day she argued over marinara sauce which always came with my order. Another day, My young daughter was watching her make something and she acted annoyed that my daughter was watching her through the glass. Shockingly delicious! I'm a big supporter of buying local and not chains but they had a 2 topping large for $6.99 so I gave it a try. This was really good. Pepperoni was crisp, not greasy. Sausage was very good. Crust was really good too. A little salty but for the price, I was pleasantly surprised. Look, it's a chain outlet, so the food is nothing special. All they really need to do is just get their act together and serve out the same menu every other Domino's does. Which they do mostly. But the one time I order delivery, they can't get the order right. I've ordered from this Domino's many times and most of the time the service is great but a few times we've had really terrible service or our orders have come with mistakes. Once we ordered late night and our driver showed up with only one out of our two pizzas, and when we asked where the other one was he said he "didn't know" but he would "go find it." He then showed up an hour later with our second pizza. Another time we ordered a BBQ chicken pizza and it showed up with no sauce at all, so we had to wait 30 minutes for them to bring us the correct pizza. And then when we got our pizza with sauce, it was burnt. And the latest time, they gave us one of our pastas in foil instead of the bread bowl we ordered and forgot the icing for our Cinnasticks. Then when we requested that they bring us a new pasta in the breadbowl, they said that they couldn't remake it and that it was our fault, and that the extra dollar we paid was apparently for extra sauce and not for the breadbowl. Extra sauce has never been an extra dollar? And we specifically requested a breadbowl online to begin with? Then they offered to credit us for the breadbowl, but then rescinded that offer and made us new cinnasticks and brought us icing instead. We didn't need new cinnasticks, we just wanted our breadbowl? I'd rather order from Papa John's because it's not worth saving a few bucks to have to call back and get our order fixed (or not, in this case). read more

DO NOT GO: DISCRIMINATORY PRACTICES. I have been a regular customer of Domino's for years, I've seen the quality improve in numerous ways, through constant innovation, as well as a devotion to customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, tonight, I had a terrible experience with Domino's. I went to pick up my carryout order, and when I presented my credit card and ID, the cashier asked me, "how old are you?" When I replied, "20" he said, "really? You look like you're 14". I'm disgusted by this, just because someone looks young, doesn't mean a person can ask how old they are, and treat them differently based on their age. I would expect a professional organization like Domino's to train their employees to treat people equally, regardless of their age, race, gender, or ethnicity. When I confronted the employee, he denied it, stating, "who asked you your age?". At that point I had enough, I asked to speak to management, and another employee told me, "you can leave now". This experience has turned me off from the Nottingham Domino's forever, and it makes me question the integrity of Domino's pizza as an entire organization.
