Good pizza that's fast. Plus so many other options to try. Wings, pasta, sandwiches. Very happy to have them in town.

Ichabod's is a study in both quality and quantity…read more The food's great. Burgers are especially good, the bacon-bleu burger medium will hit the spot every time, and the garlic fries are delicious if you like garlic. If you don't like garlic, don't bother! The halibut sandwich is also lovely with nice lemony tartar for when it's Friday or when you just want something that swims. Salads are super fresh if you add one, but the portions are large enough that I can't handle burger, fries, salad. Breakfast is also great, but it's not the same "you need to go here for this" that the burgers are, though the hash browns are delightfully crispy! The burgers are worth the trip regardless of where you're going, and my boss swears by the tater tots, but those garlic fries are where it's at. Service is flawless without being intrusive, which is a hard road to hoe, but more importantly nearly every person in the joint, locals to randos, is happy to be there, and that's what a good local restaurant is. It's a place that feels good and makes you happy you ate there. Also, the decor is...well, it's what Applebee's thinks it could be. Except it's real, it's local, and the food is the product of love, not just a product.

I can't say enough good things about Ichabod's Restaurant. I came in today with out-of-town guests…read morewho are visiting us for Christmas, and Ichabod's absolutely delivered on every level. When you have family in town for the holidays, you want to take them somewhere that feels welcoming, comfortable, and has good food and this place checked every box. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and genuinely family-friendly, not rushed or chaotic, even with how busy it can get around the holidays. It's the kind of spot where you can actually relax and enjoy your time together. The staff was on top of everything from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and clearly experienced (I overheard one say she had been working there since before one of the regulars kids were even born, 30 years I believe), they made sure drinks stayed full, orders were correct, and everyone at the table felt taken care of without being overbearing. You can tell the team communicates well and actually cares about the experience they're providing, which makes such a difference, especially when you're hosting guests and want to catch up. The food was excellent, we all had breakfast this time, it was well-prepared, and satisfying across the board. Everyone at our table left happy, full, and smiling. Ichabod's really shines as a community staple--a place that feels like home, except they do the dishes. I have lived in Scappoose for only a few years, but love this place. We have so many memories tied to this restaurant already. When our dog passed and we had no desire to cook, we picked up biscuits and gravy. To the annual catching up session I did in this photo, with some guests. Our date night with my wife. It's nice having a place you can count on to be good everytime. We'll absolutely be back, and always recommending it when people ask what's a good place to eat in Scappoose.

A Regal Encounter at Burger King…read more As a seasoned arbiter of gastronomy--one who has dined beneath crystal chandeliers and debated the moral implications of truffle oil--I arrived with tempered expectations and an inquisitive palate. What unfolded was a triumph of accessible indulgence. The SpongeBob Meal is, on paper, whimsical. In execution, it is slyly sophisticated. The flame-grilled burger arrived with a confident warmth, its smoky patty delivering a robust, char-forward depth that spoke of open flames and well-understood craft. The bun was pillowy and obliging, a quiet collaborator rather than a distraction. Condiments were applied with balance, not excess--a detail amateurs overlook, and professionals revere. The fries were exemplary: bronzed, crisp, and internally tender, each one a study in textural contrast. Accompanied by a refreshingly effervescent beverage, the ensemble achieved a satisfying equilibrium between comfort and celebration. Now, the ambiance--often dismissed, yet vital. The dining room glowed with clean, modern lighting that felt bright without being intrusive. There was a hum of contented conversation, the soft choreography of staff moving with practiced efficiency, and the unmistakable atmosphere of a place designed for uncomplicated pleasure. It was inviting, orderly, and quietly reassuring--the culinary equivalent of a well-tailored blazer worn casually. Service was brisk, polite, and unpretentious. Orders were handled with care and clarity, delivered by staff who seemed genuinely invested in the experience rather than merely completing a transaction. In totality, this was not simply fast food--it was fast food executed with intent. Burger King reminds us that culinary joy need not be cloaked in ceremony. Sometimes it wears a crown, comes with fries, and surprises you by being far better than it ever needed to be.

In July my parents went to this Burger King location for lunch and both got a Whopper meal. My mom…read moretook a bite of her burger and noticed the meal looked pink in the middle and did not taste right. She ate about a 1/4 of the burger before deciding to not eat anymore. She did not bring it up to the staff because she was shy and doesn't speak very good English. Approximately 2 hours later, my mom is throwing up her food. She continues to throw up for the next day and a half. We assumed it was food poisoning from the burger because that's all she had eaten when the vomiting started. She also started to experience severe pain in her abdomen and left side of her lower back. She eventually saw a doctor when she went back to her home state and was told she had colitis, which was possibly caused from ingesting an undercooked burger or being exposed to Ecoli. I attempted to contact the BK location directly to inform them of the issue but their store phone number only that had selections to speak to a manager that went directly to a voicemail. I left multiple messages for the store manager, as well as the district manager, but did not get a call back. I then filed a complaint through BK's online chat through their website and some customer service person reached out through email to get details of my issue. About a week or two later, I receive a phone call from the manager of the Scappoose Burger King Location. She was very rude from the beginning of the phone call. She told me my complaint was very serious and causing her store to go through multiple visits by the health inspector's office. I expressed I wouldn't have brought up the issue if it had not occurred. She told me my situation did not make sense and that my mom should have made a complaint at the time of the incident, if it had occurred. She insinuated multiple times that I was making things up. I have no reason for making up this issue, I am not gaining anything out of it. My mom has medical documentation to prove what happened to her and the pain she went through for weeks. The manager's lack of empathy and costumer service was disappointing to say the least. When I informed her I left multiple voicemails to her store phone number, she told me they did not have a phone for her store. Than changed her story saying they had disconnected that phone number due to prank calls. When asked how people were supposed to get a hold of her store for actual inquires she said "I don't know". Burger King has gotten so bad over the years. I do not recommend this location at all.
