Ordered by phone at 4:00 pm for pick up at 5:30 pm. I walked the two blocks to pick it up and found a cold pizza. Looking at the ticket the server determined it at been cooked right after ordered and sat on the counter for an hour+. The server graciously had a new one ready in 20 minutes. Good for him. To add insult to injury, while reading the receipt, I see they charged me $5.00 for pickup! Say what? Should be a discount for NOT dining in. Told the nice fellow: "Not your fault. We came for a slice and a few beers. We are regular customers so we were surprised when our beers were warm. When we asked about it we were told that the "cooler was broken". This place is just terrible. I'd been to a different location a while ago, and stopped in here, and this location does not at all live up to the standards of the other. First off, the pizza here is not good, not good at all. The center is cold-ish and soggy, and the flavors are not at all noteworthy. All of the tables toward the front of the store somehow have high velocity cold air blowing on them (like they have the heaters going full-bore, but somehow didn't realize that they accidentally turned the A/C on instead), so I chose a table closer to the back of the restaurant. The entire establishment is run-down and dirty (see my photos). It is also understaffed, but the few staff on-hand did as well as could reasonably be expected based on how busy they were. Almost two years later and I'm maintaining my 5-star rating for this Pizza Schmizza location for the following reason: + Excellent customer service. The sweetest staff. Good vibes! + Truly tasty pizza. Perfect proportion of sauce and cheese. Properly-cooked crust. + I love being able to get decently-priced large slices here if I don't want an entire pie. Great value. Perfect as a quick-stop for my hungry kid. + They have a mechanical horse here that actually functions and is still only 25 cents! In 2024!!! Talk about being transported back to my childhood in the 90s. Such a neat nostalgic touch! + Large beverage selection. + Candy machines. + Clean station with utensils, napkins, cups, etc. + Ample parking. Easy in, easy out. I'd really have to nitpick to find something to critique. Oh, and I'll repeat what I said in my previous review: Pizza Schmizza has the type of pizza where the cheese and crust holds up really well after reheating. You can put the slices in the air fryer one, two, even three days later and it will still taste delicious. read more

Disappointed with my experience here, but I'll start with the good parts. Pizza was ready exactly when they said it would be. Parking was easy to find, and online orders have a separate counter (go down the hallway) so the line is different from walk-in customers. Pizza was hot. Crust was pretty good, and cooked all the way through, although it was only good hot (not great as cold pizza breakfast, which is an important metric to me since I love cold pizza breakfast). Toppings were where the disappointment came in - processed chicken and under-ripe green peppers are not delicious. Normally places with interesting menu options will use fresh and high quality ingredients, so I had a high expectation, and this did not live up to it. read more

We usually visit this place about once a week for lunch with our 4 year old while we are still in WFH status so needless to say we are fans. Our toddler always looks forward to getting his "pizza bread" (aka dipsticks). While I'm personally avoiding carbs, anytime I give into a slice I'm always pretty satisfied! But I really like the Thai Chicken salad with the spicy peanut sauce. My fiancé always is pretty pleased whatever pizza he picks that day (hint, it will be involving many meats). The staff is SUPER friendly - shoutout to Aaron and the rest of his crew - who greet us warmly and listen to the random babblings of the four year old. They have hella beer taps and cocktails too. I'd definitely recommend the Code Red cocktail, it is DELICIOUS. read more

The interior is interestingly decorated with differently pizza and pop-culture paraphernalia. For kids (AND adults) they have a small selection of card and board games to kill the time, although the wait is not long at all. We only had interactions with one staff member and it was somewhat interesting, but neither good nor bad. The menu includes all the classic pizza options including cheese and pepperoni all the way up to their don ho. We started off with their garlic tots, which were cheesy and had a strong garlic flavor which we love. Out of all the options, we ended up choosing the schmeat'za which came with an almost absurd amount of meats on top. This is certainly enough to quell any meat lover. The crust was crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle with just enough sauce. This will probably be our new go to pizza place for dining-in or to-go. I'm excited to try more of their signature pizza options. read more

They accidentally made my pizza one size larger than I had ordered, but I didn't pay for the size increase. They said, "Oops, we made your pizza one size larger on accident - enjoy!" The Genoa is freakin' fabulous. But I love all meats ending in "i." They have interesting flavors for adventurous people. I like that they have random games at each table. I'm not going to lie: The pizza in Pizza Schmizza is strictly OK. I'm from Boston, where pizza ranges from acceptable to an absolute abomination, and this would likely be a go-to neighborhood spot. Not the best, not the worst, but lots of variety, a decent apps menu (one of the apps is basically just a smaller, sauceless pizza, which works for me), and excellent service. Our bartender told us our pizza was running late and spotted us some soft drinks. However, I'm here to talk about the pub side specifically. I know I'm supposed to be impressed by the Intel guys who load up on hazy IPA and spend precious minutes talking the bartender's ear off about flocculation at ABV. I know I'm supposed to "buy local" and support McNally's/Noble Hop/Next $7 Pinthouse. I know Orenco Taproom is amazing and warrants more of my time for the selection and price. But this Schmizza may have the second-best taplist in town. In terms of value -- lots of $5 pours for $4 at happy hour -- it's easily No. 1. The beer lines are clean, the taps are all dedicated to Oregon or Washington brewers, and they're the one place I've seen give significant tap space to locals like Vertigo or Deep Space. Meanwhile, if you're complaining because there aren't $2 happy hour beers here anymore, your math skills need work. At $2 a pint in 2019, they likely can't cover the price of the keg -- nevermind the markup they'd need to actually pay people. If someone leaves because pints aren't $2 anymore, I'll gladly take their seat. Some bar manager is curating the hell out of this taplist. keeping it at $5 pours, and making it an ideal place to chat or watch a game. I'll say it now: I wouldn't pass this Schmizza location to go to another Hillsboro taproom. Unless you're looking for a bottle shop or a reason to show off your hazebro bonafides, this is just about all you'll need. read more

Chill bar/restaurant conveniently located near MAX in Orenco station with a variety of food options. Schmizza serves not only pizza, but tacos, burgers, and sandwiches. Outdoor seating is available when it's warmer out. They have happy hour 4-6 and celebrate Taco Tuesday, one of my favorite days with discounted tacos and Coronas. I got the fish tacos on the taco Tuesday menu and my bf for the steak tacos, not to be confused with the tacos on the regular menu. The taco Tuesday special comes with only 3 tacos vs 4 on the main menu but they are double tortilla vs single on the main menu. Still a better deal but way to be confusing! The fried cheese curds were basically just small mozzarella sticks with Parmesan on top. Nothing goes better with cheese than more cheese! The food was decent and so was the service. A bit pricey for bar type food even at happy hour prices but a good place for a bite and a pint after work. read more

The pizza here is best fresh, and the toppings selections are great. while the web platform UI could be improved, the general idea is headed in the right direction; surely this is less to do with the local franchise though? what i want to note in particular, however, is the top notch management at this particular branch. aaron is the most stellar i've ever encountered. i use this PS location often for business lunches, as i work nearby. we order large volume, sometimes at the last minute, sometimes with plenty of notice, and PS never lets me down. if i have special needs for my group, aaron sees that it gets done. (special shout out as well to riley, who often gets stuck delivering to me). and to give an example of just how stellar aaron is: i had a problem with a large order i placed while he was on vacation. things went very wrong with it, and while the staff on site were very contrite, the way it was handled afterward solidified my faith in both management and the location in general. everyone and everything we hold to the highest standards falls off the pedestal once in a while. it's how those people and things deal with the error that counts, and aaron and co. certainly did the red carpet walk back to the pedestal. don't hesitate to get your pie on at the hillsboro airport pizza schmizza. read more

This pizza is just okay at best. For being so thin, it's still 80% bread. A bigger problem than that is their account sign up process. It told me to sign up to receive a discount, but that didn't show up in my email until 7 hours later. I had to pay full price for something I didn't like, so I was left with a bad taste in my mouth for two reasons! I highly recommend Deep Space Brewing if you want a good local pizza in Hillsboro. I never call in an order, so I can't really rate on that. I just go in and buy a slice. The slices are fresh, baked to perfection, and flavorful. They offer a part beef part alligator pizza! I am not ready for reptile yet but I have tried various flavors, all yummy, but I tend to come back to the cheese as that's my fave. They do have a couple less common flavors that are yum too. The cool thing is they have $2 slices everyday, their always either cheese, Hawaiian or pepperoni. When it's the former two, I buy. Not all locations offer the $2 slices and even some have considerably higher prices on the pizza's in general, I guess because their a franchise. The place is clean, the staff is really nice too. The owners are sisters who work there. Super sweet personable ladies, the friendliest of all the Pizza Shmitza's I've gone to. They have games and stuff to keep you occupied. I've had a lot of great experiences with Pizza Schmizza, and am a fan of their pizza in general, but this was my first time ordering from the Hillsboro location. The pizza wasn't awful, it just wasn't very hot or crispy. Then there was a little issue with some unordered toppings... The amount of toppings were great, save the 3-4 hairs we found embedded in the cheese. I've found a rogue hair in my food at other places before, and I'm pretty understanding of the occasional slip, however, this was 3-4 black hairs clustered closely together. How does that happen in the first place, let alone get missed on the way out the door? They were nice enough when I called back and comped me a free pie, I just really hope they communicate it back to the kitchen manager to deal with. I have to say, for the high price I expected more. More like the quality I have received at their other locations. All in all, I do not think I will be ordering from this location again anytime soon. read more

Hello, my name is Alena. I am a pizzaholic. Look, I am new to the area, and - just for the record - I am not holding up California as a pizza mecca. However, I did have access to fabulous pizza there. By fabulous pizza I mean: thin, crispy crust; fresh ingredients; tasty sauce; and good cheese. Additional requirements include not having to pay exorbitant prices, stand in line for days, or fret about whether or not the establishment will have RUN OUT of dough before you arrive. (hello apizza scholls! and yes, I know they make their crust by hand and it IS wonderful and it's slow food and etc etc) But GOOD GRIEF, is it too much to ask for a to-go QUALITY thin crust cheese pizza? My frustration abounds. Apparently so. Pizza Schmizza is not thin crust. It is not "gourmet". We tried this place three times and it was actually progressively disappointing. What it is: minimally acceptable take-out pizza. The crust is just okay, not thin nor thick (even if you request thin). Both and the cheese and sauce are rather bland. Good points: the staff. The service is extremely friendly and they do genuinely seem to care about the quality of their food. read more
