We came here for lunch today and had a great experience at DomoDomo. The tonkatsu was super juicy and soft. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to take photos of it. The fried corn ribs were so crunchy --a must try! The steak was a little salty and sweet, but it was perfect with rice. The sweet potato brûlée and shaved ice were absolutely delicious. Plenty of parking available, which was a big plus. Next time, I definitely want to try the hoedupbap (raw fish rice bowl)! read more

As soon as you step foot upstairs, you're met with such a warm surrounding. The place is gorgeous! Host was very friendly and kindly greeted us. As we sat down, we were greeted promptly by our server Curtis and immediately made us feel welcomed. He recommended the chefs tasting menu called Domokase. It featured so many unique dishes and trust me, they weren't just small bites either. All seven, yes, I said SEVEN, courses were 2-4 bite dishes. It was definitely worth the $79 price tag! I debated posting review because I don't want it to get too busy where I can't get a reservation, because this place can be the best spot to eat on the west side... it's that good. The Pork loin Katsu - melts in your mouth and the cabbage salad that comes with it Amazing. Never mind waiting 6 months to get into Tonkatsu Tamafuji- the Katsu here is very comparable. If you're looking for a spot to enjoy with friends and family and be present in the moment with each other and have AMAZING food this is your spot!! Just some side notes. We went when it was quite busy, food came out quick and timely but our server was a little overwhelmed with a lot of other tables so we rarely saw her, but when she came by she was the sweetest nicest server ever. Ordered a mocktail no garnish and no straw- when other drinks on the tray had straws and garnish, no biggie but those details definitely add to the experience. Could have just been it was extra busy. The food came out fairly fast but we only had one refill of water when we were just about to finish eating. We usually eat fairly fast. I ordered the loco moco and she got the sushi set. I was told that the loco moco will make me full but I still was hungry. There could have been more gravy but I was trying to scoop as much I could with my rice before it dried up. I wanted to order just one or two hand rolls and the server said I had to order a whole set because I couldn't order just one or two. Not sure what that was about but after looking at the menu, it clearly states the price of single hand rolls.. which is weird.. ‍ When it was time to pay for the check, it took a little while but the server was apologetic. I want to like this place but after going here, I feel disappointed and was strong armed to get more items when I only wanted one or two hand rolls. We were supper excited to get reservations for 12ppl during the busy holiday season. To our surprise, they seated us in the private room. We usually study the menu to make ordering easier and faster. We were VERY DISAPPOINTED that some of us couldn't order the Domokase. To have the Domokase, your entire party has to order the Domokase. We were advised as a large party we can order family style or individual plates. We ended up ordering individual plates. Group ordered Chef's Choice Sashimi Plate ($38) & Fried Chix Wings for appetizers (4/5). I ordered the Mazemen because I LOVE noodles. To my disappointment, it came with udon noodles instead of the flat noodles as advertised (3/5) and hub ordered the sushi & sashimi platter (3/5). K, B, R, & R got the Pork Loin Katsu (5/5). Family and I did not even get to try here because the host was so rude and sassy we said for get it. As a host you are the front face and first in counter with customers. If that's how your host is we could only imagine your staff. Didn't even want to chance it or bother anyways, she seemed more happy with us leaving then staying with our party. We were seated at 6pm at a window on the sunny side of the restaurant. At 6:20 the sun was burning our eyes, we were holding our hands over our eyes to be able to read the menu. We asked the waitress if they had window shades to lower and she said no. We asked to be moved to a table out of the sun and she said there were no open tables. My family just ordered their food and we left as fast as possible to get out of the sun in our eyes. Be sure not to sit on golf course side of restaurant if you go after 6pm. not worth it! Our family celebrated a bday there on Mon MAY 25, 2026. It was a first time going for our entire party of 15 people. Servicer start a bit slow for my husband and I but were fitted even before all the rest had arrive, thank you for that. Finally got water shortly but was no server was able to take our orders for drinks or appetizers, my husband and I were the only ones on our table. Finally a server appeared to take our orders but this was about 10 mins or longer after we sat down, just to take an order for drinks than finally for appetizers. After that wait food and appetizers started to arrive in a timely matter and all our order were very good, but I was not a fan of corn ribs but the rest enjoyed it. Highly recommend Tofu Agedashi, Cucumber Salad, Chicken Chlil Garlic very reasonable portions. Disappointed with the Shave Ice, we waited so long for it to be served and it was pretty much melted, I should have returned it, the server did apologize for the wait of tge Shave Ice. But overall entrees were fine. We are looking forward to returning. Hostess was a plus, I believe her name was Kerstyn, maybe, also the gentleman server, was serving the other half our guest was on point and we are looking forward to returning soon. We've dined at Domo Domo twice before and had great experiences with both the food and service, which made our most recent visit really disappointing. Despite the restaurant being only about half full, service was unusually slow. We waited more than 30 minutes for the pasta and over an hour for a martini. While we understand that delays can happen, the wait times felt unreasonable given how busy the restaurant appeared to be. The bigger issue was the repeated confusion with our order. A server brought us what they claimed was a second order of the Yellowtail Crudo, even though none of us had ordered another one. We sent it back, but later another server insisted--despite us explaining multiple times that we had not ordered a second serving--that we had. At one point, she even pointed to a member of our party and claimed that person had ordered it directly from her. This was especially confusing because we had one person handling all of the ordering for the table, and the guest she identified hadn't even eaten the Yellowtail Crudo. To avoid an argument, we reluctantly agreed to keep the dish, yet the second Yellowtail Crudo never arrived. When the bill came, however, we were charged for two orders and had to request that the extra charge be removed. Even then, the server continued to insist that we had ordered it. Throughout the meal, there were several times where servers came up to us with food/drinks that we didn't order. The food itself was still enjoyable, and we continue to appreciate the ambiance and innovate dishes like the Sweet Potato Crème Brûlée and the fusion kimbap/sushi. Unfortunately, the excessive delays and order mix-ups really altered our liking for the restaurant. Given how much we enjoyed our previous visits, this experience was especially frustrating. This place is a little deep into Ewa Beach. However, it is a gem for the Westside! Not a large restaurant. It's very elegant, modern, airy, and contemporary without being overly stuffy or pretentious. It's a dressy casual restaurant. So can get a little dressed up but you can leave your 3-piece suit at home. The service was excellent even though they were busy due to the Valentine's Day rush. Our waitress and all staff were very helpful with our questions and requests. Food came out very quickly. We ordered way too much for our party and ended up taking a lot of it home. However, that is hidden praise for this place because the portions were not small. Very reasonable pricing for the amount and quality of food that they are giving making the overall food experience a good value. The shrimp tempura roll and Brussel sprouts were good. The steak and galbi were excellent. The miso soup that came with the meal was delicious. Finally, we were so full from our dinner but we wanted to try the sweet potato crème brûlée. I wished that it was just a touch sweeter or came with some acidic fresh fruit to elevate it (even some delicious ice cream would have been amazing). Finally giving this spot a try. Hopeful to find an upscale place in Ewa Beach. Sadly, disappointed. The atmosphere is still one of golf course, 19th hole. There are people in golf attire and golf groups finishing their competition in a noisy environment. At least, the place smelled much better than 6 months ago since they eliminated the stinky carpet!! The wife ordered the pork loin katsu (strange that they don't just list it as "tonkatsu") with a side order of miso soup, while I ordered the miso salmon. All hot entrees are served ala carte (the katsu, uncharacteristically, included rice and cabbage slaw). So, in addition to my order of miso salmon, I asked for a side order of rice. We also ordered a reasonably priced bottle of Albarino (Spanish white wine that we really enjoy). Since this a "Michelin Star" restaurant, let's get picky. I'm not a wine snob, by any means, but, while the wine itself was tasty, it was served with inappropriate glassware - far too large and balloon-like for a white wine. The glasses weren't chilled and we had to request and wait for a wine bucket to keep the remainder of the bottle cool. Please don't misunderstand, the wine service wasn't bad for Ewa Beach - but it was HORRIBLE for a Michelin Star!! We ordered a spicy tuna roll as an appetizer and, while it was attractive to look at, it WASN'T TUNA and it WASN'T SPICY at all. Nondescript pink fish paste was supposed to pass for the tuna, and it was far more sweet than spicy. At least, the construction of the roll was good (it was a roll that held together and had some "stuff" inside with rice and a nori wrapper) but I've had far better spicy tuna rolls from Genki Sushi for half the price. Entres arrive after a reasonable wait and just in time for our 2nd glass of wine. The "pork loin katsu" looks good - a large portion of nicely breaded and fried pork with a nice amount of shredded cabbage and a small scoop of rice. The "miso" salmon, on the other hand, is presented as salmon with a chili sauce over sauted kale. "Chile sauce"?? I thought the menu said "miso" (I checked, and it did say miso salmon). Not quite what I thought I would get. To make a long story short, the pork katsu was pretty good - a bit on the "rare" side for my wife but I enjoyed my stolen piece quite a bit. On the other hand, the "miso salmon" didn't show any signs of miso and was hammered and dry. The side order of miso soup was overlooked by the kitchen and had to be requested after the delivery of the entrees. And, as it turned out, should never have been ordered. The miso soup was served "hot", the way she wants it, but didn't taste of miso and didn't contain any nori or tofu at all - hot broth with a hint of miso and scallion, only. The restaurant makes a point of stressing the service of "premium Japanese rice" but the rice served with our dinners didn't live up to what I have come to expect from my local L&L. Gummy, sticky, compacted rice is the domain of Zippy's and the like. Don't tout your rice quality and serve the stuff that you can get with a McDonalds breakfast. All things told, our dinner with wine and with tip came to $150.00 for two people. This was a disappointment, to say the least. We so hoped that Ewa Beach finally had a restaurant worth the price of admission. Unhappily, this is NOT the case here. We will not be returning unless we hear of major changes and we don't expect that DomoDomo will dominate the Ewa area. read more

Residing in Ewa myself, I gladly visited Domo Domo. My party of 3 was seated right away without a reservation. Views are beautiful as it overlooks the golf course. The service was phenomenal. Everyone was very friendly and we received our food shortly after ordering. I visited during lunch, so menu differed from dinner time. To my surprise my table received banchan (edamame, japchae, macaroni, and broccoli). We then had the ebi katsu, pork katsu, burger, and tempura roll. Unfortunately, the food missed the mark for me. We made a reservation to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Normally you'd expect a restaurant to reserve a booth or a special area of their dinning room for special occasions. There was a mix up (of their doing) but we got it sorted out before we got there. Once we got there, we noticed all the booths and or "best" seats were full. The only seats remaining were seats in the walk ways, small enough to only seat two. The hostess looked lost and clueless. This shows lack of training and experience. Now we get to the food. It took forever for the food to arrive and when it did, there were gaps (15 minutes) between dishes. The steak was served medium when I wanted medium rare. The combo meal took close to the entire 1.5 hours we were there to be served and they were only small pieces of food that took 10 seconds to eat. All that for $55? Absolute rip off. Our drinks also took forever to be served and once again the staff looked absolutely lost and unorganized. It's absolutely not worth going there, especially if you are going there to celebrate a special occasion. After grand opening on 11/19, we decided to try this place out last night. Food quality of fresh sashimi on nigiri was excellent, but the service was very slow. It took at least 15 minutes to bring us an appetizer which was three slices of yellowtail crudo, banana purée on top of nigiri didn't enhance the quality of sashimi, but prevented of having a good authentic taste. Poor service level of staff. Management needs to retrain them well. Being a hotelier experienced with fine dining, I wouldn't be back (maybe had too much high expectation due to lot of influencers mentioned "Michelin" BIB gourmand until 2023 for their NY restaurant). Slow service and not attentive to all guests (waitress just pouring water to one guest and not others) at table made me not trying it out again. It's not acceptable. read more
