First time back since the renovation and rebranding to Fairway Tavern, and I have to say--I really like what they've done with the place! For the OGs of Ewa Plantation, the Tavern definitely brings back some nostalgic memories of the "original" tavern back in the day. I've always appreciated how this golf course continues to cater to and feel like a part of the Ewa community. I brought my parents here for lunch, and we were immediately pleased with how open and airy the dining area felt. With the ceiling fans, open layout, and Ewa breeze coming through, it made for such a comfortable, relaxed lunch. My mom ordered the garlic shrimp, my dad had the meatball sub, and I ordered...the pupu-style lumpia and lechon. Don't judge. Everything was flavorful, came out in a timely manner, and we all enjoyed our meals. Service was friendly and efficient, with our server checking on us throughout the meal without being intrusive. I also like that Fairway Tavern has a concession station where golfers can easily grab something and go before heading back out on the course. If you're in the Ewa area, Fairway Tavern is definitely worth considering--whether you're golfing or just looking for a casual place to eat. They serve breakfast, too! the monthly dinners or whatever they are called, is overhyped and wayy overpriced for what ya get and service. Charging folks $120 a plate for what i believe was more liken to a misleading dinner, and classoc bait and switch. Food with the tiniest portions, no chef epxlanations, no sommolleir, subpar- even at times unprofessional service from the head dudes doing all the talking, none of which helped distract from the gastly culinary experience. The wine was a true disappointment. The dishes, mostly, were a disappointment, and the 2 female servers carried ALL THE WORK, so i can give grace there for sure cause they rocked. The management and execution literally was a failure in my personal opinion. The dudes, I forget their names but they were doing all the talking n schmoozing and not a whole lot of wanting to help anyone (both of them literally brushed off people seeking legit tiniest bit of help, and struck me as probably not that great to work with by their attitudes when not in the spotlight lol) were too important to really serve anyone or help beyond fumbling the names of the wine, which didnt matter because is was 95% terrible and of no complement to the food or value. It was really overhyped and overkill, a pretty gift wrap for a below average present and I felt wayyy underseasoned. The tall server lady with the tatts, was truly beautiful and the other was pretty cool too, we loved the service for the most part except for when the shorter one got snooty but she made up for it. From a functional standpoint there's not really any backup for them or anyone overseeing anything (the dudes moreso just schmoozing with their friends n helping folks SELECTIVELY rather than actually being there to be of service or helping anyone (cant count the $120 something "mainland event" truly sucked). The curly head was rude and both the guys "running" the event we found to be pretty arrogant lol... Honolulu famous lol Its obvious this is more a club for people who already know the event holders, and thus the high reviews or whatever but i just have to keep it real, that was nonsensical and a rip off. Maybe, on a... "regular" day.. the food has good taste and value at $10-30 a dish but that would be embarassing to the $120+ dinner or however much it was. . Our table of mostly strangers honestly bonded through the experience like a battlefield except we were dodging gross food and tummy aches. Felt like it was a prank. I saw someone ask wine dude for something and he literally just brushed them off, and his snooty comments and lack of service from both the dudes was amateur. Its an small intimate setting that is understaffed and didnt even have enough wine glasses, of course people are gonna ask you for help lol your servers are taxed. Duh. Ohh and don't drink the HIDEOUS wine too slow, or NOT have anywhere to pour it out, you might lose your next pour opportunity.. lol which judging by the selection, would've been a good thing anyway. Never again. DoorDash saved the night for us all. What a rip! read more

Fairway Tavern at the Ewa Beach Golf Course is officially back and newly renovated -- and looking good. I stumbled on this spot by accident while getting lost trying to find the post office, and honestly, it worked out. The menu has solid local favorites, good eats, and that ono Ube cheesecake that hits sweet and smooth. Plenty of space, nice views of the course, and it's open for sports and large gatherings. I don't even know where to start! From the appetizers to the food. Everything was spot on and fresh! They had extraordinary food combinations that would definitely open your eyes and taste buds. The setting of the restaurant was very fresh. You have a great view of the golf course and Light breeze that comes in once a while. Service was excellent. Walked in party of 5 at 5 knowing they close at 6pm thinking sorry for being one of those customers that come in last minute. The view was nice. Staff is awesome, food came out quick and everything we ordered was good. The ube cheesecake was so good, glad we ordered it! Can't wait to come back to try everything else. Always a great experience. Been there 3 times now since opening. The staff is super friendly and hospitable, run by people who know what they are doing (get the poke nachos!). Ambiance: open air restaurant setting and bar top. Would be a great spot for a graduation, celebration, etc. They don't currently take reservations, but likely to do so in the future. Reasonable prices for the portions, everything is quality. Parking- free parking in the lot. Go play some golf and get some grinds. Also- and the end of the 9th hole- it's right by the restaurant so can run in and get a quick Bev, grab a musubi or hotdog to tide you over till you're done and have an excellent lunch. read more

A great find...casual outdoor dining attached to a golf course with a local flare! I had the miso chicken skewers, a dish I wouldn't normally order, because it's dry. This was still juicy. I have to go back and try more. Can't wait for them to offer dinner. The service was outstanding and very friendly. read more

The first time we went was when they first opened, it was a great experience. We had a wonderful server and everyone was pleasant. Yesterday it was a totally different experience. Our server was such a grump and provided minimal service and made mistakes when she did come around. Then they up charged me for having a burger with salad...but the up charge was $3.50 for the dressing, not the salad and they were very manini with the dressing! Who gives you an option of salad or fries and charges for the dressing??? Of course our grump of a server didn't advise me of this. And beware, their beer pitchers are small and cost $25-$28. It's no wonder the place was empty compared to the first time we patronized it after a round at Ewa Villages. It was the same time of day but the happy, wonderful server and personnel weren't there, which really made a difference. If they want to succeed, don't charge for salad dressing, don't over charge for pitchers and poke nachos and provide better service!!! Sad to say it's a total rip off now. read more
