    California Burrito

I only get one thing here and one thing only: California burrito It's big, it smacks, and it is always dependable. Big fan of the salsa bar, the salsa verde is superior. Food always comes out fairly fast depending on the time of day you go. Expect a line if you go during lunch or dinner but it goes by fast. They also have the cutest back patio where you can view the ocean (kind of). Love walking here with my friends, a bird rock staple.

    Street tacos

Tried a few street tacos. Carnitas and also fried fish. Fish was better. Carnitas were a bit dry. Tortillas (corn) were good. Thick enough that you only needed one per taco. Best thing was the price. Street tacos were $3 each. My girlfriend got a two taco platter. $8 for two. Both reasonably priced. Her grilled Mahi Mahi were better than either of mine.

How can they only have 3.5 stars? This place is so good!! It's been really good the last 20 years! I don't even know how long they've been around but we used to go to lunch here when I used work nearby. Today my boyfriend got three tacos. A shrimp taco, salmon taco and regular fish taco. All were delicious, but I think today the shrimp stood out as the most flavorful.

If you're looking for real Baja style fish tacos in La Jolla be sure to stop here. We were in search of a mom and pop taco spot and Don Bravo came through. Prices were great and the tacos were huge! The rice was very authentic, reminded me of my Grandmas. Don Bravo has their own parking lot and an amazing ocean view just a block down the street. They serve beer, margaritas and an array of other dishes, hard shell tacos, soft tacos, enchiladas and more. We will definitely be back to enjoy their other items.

The tacos here are the best fish tacos we had in San Diego hands down. Visited multiple times. Right next to the beach the outdoor patio is awesome for watching the water and enjoying tacos

Highly recommended!! Enjoying the view and breakfast burrito. Service here is top-notch.

Enjoying the view and the the breakfast burrito. The service here is top-notch. Highly recommend to anyone visiting La Jolla.

    Fish tacos and Adobada

We stumbled upon this Mexican restaurant after surfing in nearby Tourmaline beach. Decided to give it a try because their tacos are advertised to be around $2.50/piece only to find out it's going to be for small street tacos. We ended up getting the normal size ones, one battered fish taco and an adobada. The fish taco for $3 was huge and the fish was golden crispy and delicious! I like how they served it in a corn tortilla as I think most places in SD use flour. The adobada taco meanwhile came out to about $5.50 which is so overpriced considering there's nothing out of ordinary about it. Giving this place a 3.5 just for the misleading ad about their promo and for how pricey the adobada is. The fish taco was good, though.

Funny how the refund was finally confirmed at 11:30am after I posted this review. Their poor customer service from management is truly astonishing. I wish I didn't have to take it to yelp because their tacos are really good, but here we are: Earlier this week, I had ordered 2 grilled shrimp tacos that come with cheese and avocado for $7.50 each. After getting home I realized they had forgotten to add the cheese and avocado (essentially giving me their grilled shrimp tacos listed for $4.75). I tried calling the store several times to let them know but no one answered, so I emailed them ask for a partial refund as I was charged $7.50 for each, but didn't receive the right tacos. Their response essentially accused me of taking off the avocado rather than it being a mistake made by the kitchen, along with telling me that I was not overcharged as I was given grilled shrimp tacos? I responded back with screenshots of their online menu listing descriptions of the two tacos: the grilled shrimp with avocado and cheese for $7.50, and the grilled shrimp without the avocado and cheese for $4.75 (the ones they accidentally made me). They then apologized, saying they'd send the refund and confirm once they did, yet it's been over 3 days and no response. I sent a follow up message yesterday to ask when they'd send it and I'm ignored instead. I decided to take it upon myself to dispute the charge with my credit card company because apparently this company can't follow through with their word. It was a $5.50 overcharge, so it's quite disrespectful that they'd decide to handle a simple refund in this manner. This whole experience has been so disappointing and I truly wish they had handled it better rather than arguing with me, and later ignoring my messages. I've read their other reviews on yelp and noticed a common theme with their poor management and bad customer experiences. Their tacos are great, but I don't think I'll ever come here again if this is how management treats their customers.

The Pacific Beach area is usually busy, and we were lucky that we didn't have to wait and service was excellent. They even have their own parking lot around back so that makes it less stressful to have a meal at their establishment. I also made a reservation in advance for eight people but it really wasn't necessary when we went. I think it's very different during dinner service so I still highly recommend making a reservation. They brought out chips and salsa immediately as well as water. My husband and I got there a little bit early ahead of our party so we ordered a couple of drinks while everyone else arrived. They have a huge selection of menu items for both brunch and dinner. We had the ceviche, chicharrones and guacamole. I also ordered the Yucatán salad and my husband got the seafood enchiladas. Both were excellent and highly recommend. The ambience and decor are so cute as well. They have a couple Bougainvillea trees by the entrance and beautiful, colorful murals on their building. So definitely a cute place to take pictures. Very much worth the trip if you are looking for something to eat in the area.
