Funny how the refund was finally confirmed at 11:30am after I posted this review. Their poor customer service from management is truly astonishing. I wish I didn't have to take it to yelp because their tacos are really good, but here we are: Earlier this week, I had ordered 2 grilled shrimp tacos that come with cheese and avocado for $7.50 each. After getting home I realized they had forgotten to add the cheese and avocado (essentially giving me their grilled shrimp tacos listed for $4.75). I tried calling the store several times to let them know but no one answered, so I emailed them ask for a partial refund as I was charged $7.50 for each, but didn't receive the right tacos. Their response essentially accused me of taking off the avocado rather than it being a mistake made by the kitchen, along with telling me that I was not overcharged as I was given grilled shrimp tacos? I responded back with screenshots of their online menu listing descriptions of the two tacos: the grilled shrimp with avocado and cheese for $7.50, and the grilled shrimp without the avocado and cheese for $4.75 (the ones they accidentally made me). They then apologized, saying they'd send the refund and confirm once they did, yet it's been over 3 days and no response. I sent a follow up message yesterday to ask when they'd send it and I'm ignored instead. I decided to take it upon myself to dispute the charge with my credit card company because apparently this company can't follow through with their word. It was a $5.50 overcharge, so it's quite disrespectful that they'd decide to handle a simple refund in this manner. This whole experience has been so disappointing and I truly wish they had handled it better rather than arguing with me, and later ignoring my messages. Pretty sure this place is a chain or something. The establishment is beautiful and super clean. I love their garage door entrance and mural! However we're here for food reviews. I ordered a grilled fish taco and smoked fish taco and both included plenty of fish. Hubs ordered a grilled fish and their Al Pastor. The grilled fish taco included cilantro and avocado. The smoked fish taco included cabbage, pico and avocado. The grilled fish taco was cooked perfectly and was super moist. It was also amazing that the tortillas never fell apart. The workers moved us through the line quickly and we received our orders quickly. They have a self service sauce station where you can get however much sauce you like. Ventured to this lovely and lively beach location on a sunny Sunday afternoon. My girlfriend and I loved the open windows right next to the beach, and the service was quick. We ordered beer battered fish and shrimp tacos with the mixed ceviche. These are some of the best fish tacos I've had, they were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside without being too greasy. The salsa selection was fantastic, all three options impressed us and we enjoyed mixing them together. I have loved Oscars since 2015. 10 years later I'm older and wiser and well the expectations for good food are higher as well. I judge a Mexican seafood place based on how good their fish batter taco is. I do like Oscars fish taco but it could def use some improvements. This taco has too much cabbage and not only is it unnecessary but it will speed up how fast your taco gets cold. Last- the tortilla is too big for the fish taco. You need smaller tortillas. Less cabbage and smaller tortillas are a good start to a better taco. I might as well comment on the cabbage, its thick, choppy, cut it thinner, finner. I did discover their seafood stew this last visit, and well it's just lovely! And, totally worth ordering. Their fish ceviche was dry/meh. I think that's my bad because I meant to order shrimp ceviche. Which tends to be juicier and more delicious. I love how much more space they have now. A lot more tables and seating options. Quick tip for customers: the line moves slow enough that by the time you get your food you will be seating at a table. A bit too much cabbage for my personal preference but can easily take off. They had great sauces as well! The white sauce was a hit but had another customer steal the bottle off of our table while we were just starting to eat our food and asked for it back but he refused. Spoke to an employee but apparently he was a regular so they did nothing about it and they were out of the sauce so had to go without for the rest of our meal.
