Allow me to take you on a journey. Yesterday I time-traveled back 2 decades ago when I entered Don Davis. I must have at least, because that was the last time these manipulative sales tactics were acceptable at dealerships. Let me explain. I was a walk-in yesterday afternoon around 4 pm at the dealership and connected with a sales rep, Cody. I was interested in trading in my Dodge Challenger to lease a new Dodge Charger, specifically Daytona Trim. Fast forward after the test drive and trade-in appraisal (and some common negotiating), Cody and I started talking about numbers for the lease. At this point, the dealership manager came into the office, sat down, and said he could offer me a lease range of $499-$599/mo. on the Daytona trim or $549-$699/mo. on the Scat Pack trim ($0 down after positive equity from the trade-in was applied, on a 36mo lease). I said those monthly numbers were too high for me. At this point, the Manager asked: "What do you need to see to buy today?" I said: $0 down, 36month lease, and under $400/mo. on a lease. To which, the Manager took the paper, wrote down "W.B.T. (will buy today) Dodge Charger Smokeshow Daytona $0 Down 3yr/36 mo lease, $399." I asked if there was any way he could make this offer with a Daytona series in Black, even if it meant waiting for him and his dealership to acquire the vehicle from another shop or auction? The Manager said, "Sure. I can get you any color and any trim. You want a black Daytona? done." I asked him to confirm: "at this price point?" Again, the Manager confidently said "yes." After a few minutes thinking it through and coming back with a "let's do it," I came back to Cody (sales rep), who explained that after looking, his Manager said they could not offer me another Daytona at this price. However, they can offer me a better deal on the Scat Pack, or an RT, or the Daytona they had on the lot at $399/mo. After looking at the Scat Pack, thinking, etc, I elected to move forward with the Daytona the dealership had on the lot at $0 down / $399/mo. Fast forward 45min-1hr later after signing the paperwork (including a sheet with an offer of $399/mo, removing all of my belongings from my trade-in vehicle, the whole 9 yards. Cody took me and the signed paperwork across to the separate building to meet with the finance team. This, to my understanding, was to finalize the agreed upon lease documents, agree upon additional things like Gap insurance, mileage limit, etc. As soon as I walked into the finance manager's office, he restated my intent to purchase the dodge charger Daytona today and then stated. "672" "what?" ... "$672 a month" There had to be a mistake. So I confirmed the trade-in value, reviewed the paperwork I had just signed with the sales manager with the stated "$399/mo." on it. Finance's only answer was: "I'm sorry, I don't know why he would offer you this. It would be bad business if we sold you this car at this offer." (I HAD ALREADY SIGNED ALL OF THE PAPERWORK) I demanded the contract be voided and asked for an explanation from the sales manager and an apology for wasting, at this point, 4 hours of my afternoon/evening. Last fast forward. The sales rep took me back to the sales manager, who took the paperwork, then came back and said, "Ok, so the rebate of $3k doesn't apply to leases, so I had the finance manager apply a discount of the same amount to get us back to the total we were at. It's $599/mo. Sound good?" "no, absolutely not. How did we go from $399 to $599?" "Oh, well, we wrote the paperwork for Tier 1 program, and you qualify for Tier 2 program, so it will be more. We can get you into an RT Trim for less, or you can purchase the Daytona instead of leasing, and I can get you closer to $499/mo." At this point, I was over the bait and switch tactic. I demanded to void and shred the contract and wouldn't be doing business with this manager/dealership. TLDR: - Manager gave me his word he could get any color/any trim for a promised and agreed upon quote (He lied) - Manager gave me his word on a quoted price & had me sign paperwork for it (he lied), then retracted that quote and nearly DOUBLED the quoted price - Manager baited and switched me over and over again throughout the process - Manager took the classic ploy of putting me through the entire process, running my credit, singing paperwork, walking me through all the benefits, and having me take all of my belongings out of my existing car, just to double the price on me. AND THEN trying to come back down slightly as if to make it a "good deal," hoping I would be so exhausted from the experience that I would break and say yes. Moral of the story: YOUR DEALERSHIP MANAGER IS NOT A MAN OF INTEGRITY NOR A MAN OF HIS WORD. I've lost absolute respect for him, and Don Davis should reconsider the types of individuals they hire to represent their brand. read more

I bought a brand new keep at the end of June. The lane assistance and collision assistance keep going out and say service required. The drivers side visor mirror door broke so the light on the mirror stays on. I took it in for an oil change, to get a diagnosis on the things needing service and to get them to order a new visor. The service guy tells me they can't diagnose because there is only one guy that can do that and he wasn't there. Then he tells me that he will make a new ticket to order the visor. I call today to check the status and the visor was never even ordered. Plus when I call up there the receptionist has zero clue what to do or where to find info. She just lists you on hold and leaves you until you get tired of holding and hangs up on you. So now I get to start over at a new keep dealer because I'm not taking my car back to this circus show. They have a system that you can text your advisor through directly, and it also gad a progress chart I could view to see what stage my vehicle was in. In the middle of the service I remembered I needed a bed liner added to my truck, so I texted Manny about it. He was able to get it done quickly & at a great price before I picked it up. This was the worst experience I have encountered. I dropped my vehicle (2011 Jeep Wrangler) off on 9/22/2023 as I had an airbag recall and a couple of other things that I wanted looked at. I called a day or two prior to dropping it off to see if they had the airbag for the recall and also to see if they could look at a few things. I was going to be out of town the next week so I thought this would give them plenty of time if they had to order a part. They did have the airbag in stock so all seemed to be good for drop-off on the 22nd. When I dropped it off I went over what I wanted looked at and explained to the service rep that I would like to pick it up on the 29th. She stated that barring any major issues that should be just fine and she would call me if there were any issues and also to let me know the cost of the other repairs I asked them to look at. I called my service rep on the 28th confirming I could pick up my car the next day as I never heard anything all week and thought all had gone well. She told me they had not even looked at it. I explained again that I use my car for work and they have had all week to look at it. She said they would get it in immediately and she would let me know the cost for what I asked them to look at and repair. Less than an hour later she sent me a breakdown with the repairs and the costs. I let her know what I wanted done and she stated they would need to order the part and it may take 2-3 business days to receive it. I asked for a loaner car since they sat on my car for a week and never looked at it and I needed my car for work. She said no as my car was not under warranty so I rearranged my work schedule so I could work from home a couple of days. By Thursday October 5th I still had not heard anything so I checked in and was told the part still was not there. By this time I was very frustrated and I explained that via text to my service rep and she never responded. The next morning, October 6th I call the service department manager, leave a message, and he called me back. I went over the whole situation with him and he apologized and stated that my part had arrived and it should be ready that afternoon. I explained to him my frustration over the lack of communication and the fact my car sat for a whole week and was never looked at. Again he apologized and stated he would figure out what happened and offered to let me know when he found out it. Not necessary...he lost 2 customers that day (my husband who is a 4 time Jeep buyer and myself) and I told him that. His only response was that he hopes we change our mind. That was the level of customer care I received. I never raised my voice, used foul language, or asked for a discount. I was frustrated and also polite. My car was ready that afternoon and upon picking it up I noticed my phone holder that clips to my a/c vent was missing. It is not something that just falls off. It has to be tightened to put it on and untightened to take it off. A few other things were out of place but whatevs. When I went back in to explain this, another service rep came out to my car to look and he also could not find it. This was the icing on the cake. He stated I could wait until the guy who worked on my car gets back from lunch at which I explained I had already wasted enough of my time throughout this whole ordeal and I should not have to waste anymore time on something that should never have been removed from my car. He never apologized. He never attempted to make it right. He just said okay. I had paid my bill in full, did not say a rude thing to the cashier, nothing...and this was the customer care I again received. I really hope this was a one off situation where everything that could go wrong did as I would hate to think this happens more often. Unfortunately for Don Davis Auto Group, they have lost more than 2 customers. Jeep owners are loyal and also listen to each other. I have several Jeep owner friends who I told them my situation and they are also spreading the word about the lack of care or service from Don Davis. I am not one to leave bad reviews...I just hope no one else has this experience. At any point had someone from your company reached out to me instead of me having to reach out to them as to the status of my car, things might be different. If zero is was an option I would give zero starts. I paid for a key fob that this dealership couldn't complete, we agreed to split the cost of the key (and apparently the programming). The cost is $350 and the Jay the service rider called me and said the key fob had to be returned to receive partial refund. I clarified that I'm returning an unprogrammed key and paying them $175. Jay said "yes". That doesn't make sense, and I won't be returning. Jay stated and this is a quote "They don't care", when asked to speak to manager Jay said "They won't call and they don't care". Went in to purchase a 2023 for explorer. We went over all the details including salesman exposing the 3 year/5 year warranty the vehicle came with. When we were in the office to do the final paperwork, a finance guy starts talking about purchasing an additional warranty especially since the SUV we were buying only had a two year warranty instead of the 3 year mentioned before. I asked why he said it's bc it was driven by the dealership over the year so it lost a year of warranty. I felt I was lied to at the beginning of the transaction and then told something different in order to be forced to buy a warranty. Trash service this time. I live in the Colony and my service would be covered under the warranty. They said that I had to drop and leave the car and they've had this policy since April. I was there in November and I waited while they fixed my module and there was no issue. In fact I waited two days back to back and worked out of their lobby with no question. Went in with my new truck at 950 miles for some abnormal vibration in the rear of my vehicle. They tell me the tires have flat spots and they are not covered under warranty so they offered to sell me new ones of course. I declined and went to Goodyear where they evaluated the tires and could not find any flat spots whatsoever. So back to the dealership I go. Long story short, Terry Collins Service manager was so sure of their diagnosis he convinced me to go back to Goodyear and purchase four new tires. I did and after $1,500 the vibration was still there. Their diagnosis was WRONG because they didn't do sufficient testing. Terry did not want to deal with the issue or take responsibility. He kept trying to send me back down to Houston where I bought the truck, mind you this is a brand-new truck snd should have coverage for such things. After a lot of arguing, Terry reluctantly tells me they will put four wheels from a different truck on my truck and drive it to see if they can isolate the problem. My son was with me and said why didn't you guys do that before making my dad spend money on tires. The service manager Terry Collins got in his face looked at him looked and said "who are you"? This guy was extremely disrespectful to my kid. My son made a valid point and Terry didn't like it so he tried to intimidate my kid. His unprofessional and condensing attitude caused me to leave without addressing the issues. I do not recommend this company to anyone looking to be treated fairly and respectfully.
