Having left my purse (with all my worldly…read moregoods) at the station on my way back to the Bay Area (and a horrific long drive from Idaho in bad weather), I can't say enough about the honesty and helpfulness of the management when I discovered my loss in Vacaville. Immediate care and reassurance for a frazzled traveler was given over the phone by the night manager and the day manager went out of her way on her own time to stop by the local FedEx place to overnight my purse back to me. There are human guardian angels in Mt. Shasta, and Jessica, Daisia, and Matthew are three of them! (Not to mention the dear lady who found it who was also on her way home after a equally horrible drive home from Las Vegas!) Counting Blessings!!

As someone who travels full time, I have never encountered such a firm refusal. Seriously? It's AIR. While I realize the equipment costs money to maintain, we were happy to spend money in the shop. We had just fueled up the night before and did not need fuel, but just needed air in a tire. Terrible customer service.

Finally just left and went to Burger King and used their bathroom. No code needed. Do they have a serious homeless problem here where people are trying to use the bathroom? Frustrating. Had to pull off, get a hotel room and after 5 calls to mechanics, chanced it that these guys would help. Boy did they! No fuss, happy to help, gave the kids toys and had us back on the road in 10 minutes. They didn't hesitate to help me out and wouldn't charge me!! I really appreciate their help and excellent service. All other mechanics in town, take a lesson from these guys.

Although Chad was pretty swamped, he managed to fit my friend's car in in about an hour and not only filled the oil and alerted her to a big leak(and gave us pointers on how to keep on top of it for the drive home to San Francisco), but also vacuumed the floor of the front seat of the car. The other place in town we called took my number and didn't call back til the next day. No big, folks are busy, but I'm not sure what we would have done if we hadn't found The Pit Stop. Thanks Chad!

One and a half days later they called with an estimate of $700 to change all the fluids and rotate the tires. I told them I could go to Jiffy Lube for 1/3 that price and said just change the tires. The next day, day 3, we never got a call it was ready so in the afternoon we just showed up to get it. We found out they never drove it to see what the noise was. They said they checked the belts by hand because I said it might be that but did no other noise assessment. Not only are their prices ridiculously high but apparently you have to diagnose your car before you bring it to them. They sure aren't going to try to find the problem on their own.

I still have my boards today because the guy that helped me was sure they had a metric set and took the time to find the one (dust and all) in the store.
