Had picked up a large order for my best friend's wedding. They pan dulces were really delicious and the prices were good. Parking was easy as well. The only reason why I'm docking one star is there was no flexibility on the time I could pick-up despite the large order that we placed. They're closed between 12-2PM. Overall a cheap and good pan dulce spot. read more

I found a great breakfast spot that sells tons of pan dulces. conchas and breakfast tortas. Don Felipes is open early and is a great spot to pick up small Mexican style breads and breakfast sandwiches. The shop offers very affordable prices with their "pan" baked daily. I stopped on in after I stayed with my brother in Vista for a few days. The place was perfect for a quick pick up and go. They had 4-5 different displays for their pan dulces. read more

This is a breakfast sandwich, with ham Turkey and chipotle it's a 10/10. It's so flavorful that I want to eat like 3 but after one I am stuffed. The owner was so helpful and nice. The store has so much history, you can tell by the artifacts like the phone from the 50s to so many different items around the bakery. It is very charming; one can sit there if they want or take the pastries to go. There is a menu of items to eat there. I bought a bunch of great looking pastries and then took to my boyfriend's place and neither him nor me found any particularly flavorful. All the opposite, quite bland except for the palmier. Nothing to complaint about the service and the amount of sweets available and the plate itself, I was just disappointed that most of the items had the same generic taste and not too sweet. read more

We had 4 judging criteria; taste, authentic, presentation and cost and this place was awarded 39/40. Well we got 7 deserts and a coke for $11. Just like I remember from visiting Mexico. The owner of this business is known for being unfriendly. I've confirmed this with multiple neighboring business owners. The last time I visited I had called to see if they could reserve 2 dozen conchas for me. They told me I would have to come in. When I came in shortly after calling, they were rude and told me all they had left was in their display cases. They only had 3 conchas. I asked if they could bring me some from the back racks and they said they had to sell the old bread first. I felt like telling them what they could do with their old bread. Back roads are fine but don't be dumb like me and enter the building through the back lol. The workers were so nice in letting me come in I got to see the nice clean working area. I truly believe the pan is super fresh especially since they close 3 hours of the day to prepare for the evening. I found this Panaderia on rosca de reyes day when my original go to didn't make enough. Great Bakery! I love getting here early in the morning and ordering a Breakfast Torta. This place has great tasting bread and they really know how to use it. I had the Bacon Torta and would highly recommend it. Although 1 Torta is enough sometimes to fill me up, I usually order 2 so I have no regrets haha. At just $6/$7, why not!? Check this place out! I will be sincere and not mean on this review. I tried this place for the first time last Saturday. I selected because of yelp. Sorry to say I got home started to try the sweet bread and was completely disappointed as the pan dulce was dry, not moist at all and was not worth eating. I unfortunately threw the 8 or so pieces away as they all seemed to be very dry and tough. I had selected 8 or so different varieties to sample and again not one was worth eating. Maybe these were a day or two old? Not sure, but most likely will try again at some point and if anything changes I will update this review. Thanks for reading. read more

It was my first time coming here and chose this place because of the reviews. Everything looked so good but once I got home I tried the bread and was dry. Not one but all of it. Also, one of the pan dulce was sour on one side than the other and was weird because I've had this bread alike in other places and should taste this way. I keep thinking it was maybe a bad batch but as I kept trying more it just wasn't what I imagined. So I give three starts. I am thinking about giving it a second try and I'm giving the benefit it if the doubt. read more

El pan siempre esta quemado. Alomejor peinsan que esta un poco dorado, pero sale muy seco y se mira quemado.Translation: The bread is always burnt. They probably think it's just toasted, but it comes out dry and looking burnt. I am from Mexico City and I have eaten some great pastries in Mexico City Panaderias. Still I have never found a good bakery that compares to the good ones in Mexico while I have lived in the US. I went in January to this bakery in search of a Rosca de Reyes for Epiphany. I bought pastries and a Rosca de Reyes. The pastries themselves were OK, some were a bit dry (Conchas) and others were good (the palm leaves / orejas) The Rosca was not good: Very dry and hard, not enough Baby Jesus inside and had very few sugar/dried fruit decorations on top. read more
