Their lemonade is served in mason jars and they're to die for! Not too sugary and sweet and not too watered down/ sour as well. Just perfect. I had their Avocado Toast made with jalapeño corn bread + grilled avocado + blood orange oil + sun dried tomato + micro greens. That is from their breakfast selection. Spicy Manzana Tacos $14.00 four spiced fried potato tacos + jalapeno + red onion + grilled fuji apple + Grilled avocado + micro radish They close pretty early at 5 or even 5:30. I live in the area and really like this place, except I can't figure out when they are open and when they are not. I went by there Saturday, and the Saturday hours show that they should be open, but they were closed. So I go by there and if they are open, I stop in, if they are not open, I wonder why they are closed. We really enjoyed this restaurant for lunch today. We wanted to see the jazz and blues festival that was happening on the plaza and did a little yelp search for reviews and once again my Yelper friends delivered. The pork Street tacos were absolutely fantastic and hubby had the flautas which was such a unique flavor and chock-full of chicken. We also really liked the street corn. The margaritas are made with some type of guava syrup and they were fantastic, don't skip out on these. What a great spot to enjoy the live jazz and blues music that was happening. We arrived and were seated right away. This small restaurant is off the plaza in this quaint pecan tree lined town. We were happy with all the food! Salsa and chips were great! 3 different salsas to choose from, spicy to ones liking. The deconstructed queso fundido was yummy with flavorful chorizo, blue corn tortillas, bubbly cheese, and roasted jalapeno you can reconstruct to your desire. First time going to don Felix and will not be returning . Service is very slow and the portions for the price is not worth it . Was not asked if I wanted a refill on my sodas. We ordered an appetizer and it took quite a bit of time to get to the table . It's was just the fundido board which was just warmed up cheese . The place wasn't busy at all . I then ordered the queso burger and it was raw . We let the girl know that the burger was raw and the waitress didn't really offer to do anything to fix it . Their Shrimp dishes are great. Every time I come here, I'm always ordering a shrimp dish. No disappointment there. Went here for both lunch and dinner. The shrimp tacos were to die for. It was really filling. And the band was great. Emilio ordered the smothered the burrito, I had a bite and I was not too fond of it. It was the cheese that didn't do it for me. That was probably the only thing that wasn't great. Shrimp Ceviche, I had that as a meal with their homemade chips and they weren't stingy with the shrimp either. Love love love their drinks! We had been to the restaurant at that location before it's present owners took over, changed the name, etc. I was disappointed to find out that they were out of their carne asada since I'm primarily a beef eater. My wife had the blue corn flautas with Mexican corn and green rice (cilantro/lime) and I had the smothered shredded pork burrito (green). Both of our meals were delicious. It is kinda sad when you go to a restaurant. You look at the menu, you ask what domestic beers they have. And they have none then you say. Okay, what imports do you have? They tell you, you order those, and they come back and say we don't have that either. The young lady that assisted us, she was amazing. She was great, but the management is very rude. Do not recommend. We never got the food we ordered. We waited an hour for our plate (a burger) and we ended up just cashing out after an hour of waiting because I had already finished my pozole. The waitresses couldn't even give us cups of water. Best chicken flautas ever. The tortilla was crisp and the chicken tender. The pecans and jalapeño made it sweet and spicy. The ceviche was fresh and crunchy. I'm adding a 5 star review, mainly to counter the bad reviews. I've read all the complaints and understand. But in business and life things are a moving target. This static review system is flawed. Forever staining a business that is fighting like hell to stay afloat, while creating a great experience for their customers. I don't know the owner(s). I am in business too. You can feel the heart and soul in this business. The thought and dedication to the food. I'm a fan of good food and fair pricing, which is delivered here. If you want cheap, go elsewhere. This is more artisan style. Which we love. The time, energy, dedication, location and artistry in food should be rewarded here. We have had several meals here and are huge fans. It's NM. We have options for great Mexican food. This one is still near the top of our list. We appreciated the chef coming out to be sure we were happy with our meal. Overall, a true 5 star experience. We have always enjoyed Don Felix's street tacos, but the tamales were a new discovery for us - among the best we have had. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. I consider myself a Taco Connoisseur. When I eat at a place that claims to serve street tacos I have to put it to the test. Or how a Mexican mom would say it "aver si sierto" I was turned off by the constant use of the word mini in their menu. The queso fundido has a good taste when you add hatch green Chile on them. Jalapeño poppers: fried filled with cream cheese and bacon. Delicious To the tacos: I got the carne asada tacos and they were cooked to perfection. They're stuffed with a good portion of carne asada, cheese, cebolla and cilantro. Add the guacamole to your liking. It's served like a taco should and it hits the spot like a taco would, 10/10 and a certified auténtico taco! This is authentic Mexican/ New Mexican cuisine. Ambience is artsy and friendly. Great place to meet with friends and family without breaking the bank. Aguas Frescas in all flavors . Also great and unique flavored margaritas. We started with green rajas queso fundido. Nothing like fresh hatch chile. Followed with some flavorful albondiga soup and for main dish I got Chile Colorado while daughter got the green chicken enchiladas. It was all so homemade tasting. The rice was super fluffy and beans were good enough to eat alone. Everyone at table got something different and everyone was happy and full when done. We finished off with warm Sweet sopapillas. Sticky goodness! Service was amazing and got great personal attention from the young owner Addrianna. Went here on the outside patio the same day as the 18th Annual Jazz Festival so we could listen to the music and eat. The patio was nice for that purpose. The service and food was pretty average. My husband and I shared a nacho plate with pulled pork. The pork lacked flavor and in general the dish was dry, which is not usually a word used for nachos. The dryness was however remedied by the addition of salsa that we had to go inside and request. It's a toss up as to whether or not we'll return. read more
