The tale of two reviews. A little about us. We are an older couple (56,65) and we are in the middle of driving cross country from Tampa to Washington State. Eight hours of driving today, in from San Antonio. The bad first. It is a Saturday at 4:15 and we were told it would be a 20-25 minute wait. No problem. They actually called us up in 15 minutes. Great! They took us out of the main, beautifully decorated restaurant, to the bar area and sat us at a table right next to the bar. There were three college or trade school people at the bar, who were being very loud, bad-mouthing the program they were in. So loud I couldn't talk with my wife without raising my voice. It continued the entire time we were eating. I didn't feel like I was in the position to say anything because we were in the bar area. I like loud bars too. Just not for dinner. Now the good. The food was amazing. The four different salsas served with the chips were all delicious. You can tell they were all house-made. The green was HOT but the rest were all pretty spicy as well. I had the relleno plate. Terrific. So tasty and filling. I honestly loved the food. When the server came back to the table at the end of our (shortened) meal, she apologized saying the it was so 'boisterous' tonight. It really dampened our dinner. I hate to say it but I don't think we would eat here again if passing through. read more

Visiting the area and this place came highly recommended. We started off with cocktails. The mango margarita was delicious. My husband enjoyed his combo plate. I could not pass up the al pastor taco's. So glad I didn't!!!! They were delicious! I couldn't eat them all (lunch tomorrow). Service was good and the atmosphere was pleasant. . read more

Stopped by again! Just passing through again. This is our 2nd time stopping in to Si Senior Mexican Restaurant. The "1 plate with green chili Verd was killer. The chips w/3 salsas 1 been dip very tasty. The beer extremely cold. The bar tender got our cocktails and waters and asked if we would like to order food. Yes! Food came quickly hot and tasty. We'll be back! Ambiance ??? It was happyhour on a Friday evening. Plenty of families out having a wonderful time. read more

Just had lunch. We each had the Rio Grande combo plates. The chips and salsas were amazing! They should be selling those I'd have bought some of each. Our combos were excellent would order again. Our server was excellent very attentive and helpful. It's a little noisy but very nice. read more

The jury is still out on Si Senor. My husband ordered a second Margarita and was ignored by the bartender while she took care of other customers. To their credit, the staff appeared to be stretched too thin. Our food was served promptly but then the waitperson disappeared to service other areas. We grabbed our own to-go boxes while we waited (!) for her to return. The food was good and plentiful but being forced to leave an 18% tip at the bar for inattentive service didn't sit well with us. We will visit again and hope for improvement. read more

stick to the combo plates. If you get the alacarte it gets expensive quick. I order the Rio combo for two adults and it's plenty of food. The staff are friendly and the young manager always asks if I'm being helped. Protip: there are two locations so make sure you know where to order from. read more

When I'm down in Las Cruces visiting from Albuquerque, this is my favorite New Mexican Pl.. They have a wide variety of great dishes with a number of different sauces to go on those dishes, which I enjoy. There are several other spots to eat in Las Cruces, but I find that this restaurant tops them all. I would highly suggest. read more

I LOVE the food here, they give plenty and when I got my food I didn't expect it to be that much, I'm not mad at it though. It's pretty quick for the amount they give and they even gave me extra chips and salsa! I hadn't even ordered that, but it was amazing like a complimentary dish. Pretty epic. read more

First thing I experienced walking in was their bathroom. I watched a hostess use the disabled stall then proceed to not wash her hands afterwards. Service was slow at first and got the wrong drinks. I asked to have guacamole instead of sour cream and still received sour cream. Chimichanga was awful. Its only filling was dry unseasoned chicken and the gave me the wrong sauce for it as well. Food is way to expensive to be this bad. I heard new Mexico had the best Mexican food in the states. I guess maybe that's not the case in Las cruces. read more

I was very disappointed in that we were treated so poorly, when one walks in there is No Sign saying to wait to be seated, we walk in to the bar area, sat for a few minutes, a hostess came and talk to us, ask to move from our table, it took the hostess a second to come back and put a reserved sign on that table.. there were other tables that they could have more around to accommodate the large group that came in .. the fact that We had to give up our table didn't sit well with us !!! So you all really need to put up a sign saying please wait to be seated!!! Your customer service has really changed and not for the better!!! read more

Since moving here in 2007, I suppose we've eaten here between 30-40 times with never a bad experience. That record ended today about 3:30 PM at a planned early meal. Margaritas were good as usual, but the music was so loud we could not hear the server, let alone ourselves across the table. We had to ask twice for it to be turned down, and eventually it was turned off. This was despite there being only four customers in the entire dining area. What we have admired most, as admitted in a previous review, is the consistency in quality food and service. Today the food bombed. This cook (hard to call him/her a chef) did not know how to make his Columbus enchiladas (my all-time favorite item) and I reported them as inedible. They were comped, but I was left with little. It will take a while before we consider returning or recommending (as we have so many times) Si Senor again. read more

Always a pleasure to come here! Definitely a Las Cruces gem. The tacos Al Pastor are my go to and are consistently delicious! Service is always kind and genuine, the overall environment is also clean and lively. The music is a big loud, but that's part of the experience. read more

Si Senor was excellent. We had a short wait but nothing too long. And the wait was worth it. Service was friendly and efficient. Started with a local IPA draft, while my wife had a Patron margarita. Both very welcome after 9 hours driving. I had the shredded burrito plate smothered in mild green chili. Delicious. Tender, flavorful beef. Great chili. My wife had the 3 taco plate. Only finished the chicken taco. Also tender and flavorful. Portions were exceptional. Next time, we'll split a plate. Oh yeah, chips are included! Many restaurants where I live no longer provide chips with your meal. The 4 kinds of salsa were all flavorful.​ read more

Great service. Great food. I wish I could buy the corn tortillas they use. I had rolled tacos (taquitos,flautas) and the corn tortillas are light and delicious. Always a great experience. A little disappointed that the new Si Señor restaurant in Sonoma is not a bigger restaurant like the one one Lohman. Very small. More like a tiny cafe. read more

Meeting a friend from the PNW for lunch in Los Cruces. I have no idea of where to go. Recommendations are aplenty and thinking good Mexican food is hard to find in Washington State this place is worth a try. We arrive early and instead of making us wait, we were seated right away. Chips delivered with 4 varieties of salsa. Each salsa varied drastically but was tasty. We got some guac to go with them. The guac was plain, no onions, tomatoes cilantro or any other additions. Hmm, easily remedied with salsa delivered with the original serving of chips. Once our friend arrived orders were made, Chimichanga with shredded beef for me and my wife who has an affinity for mole found the mole enchiladas with chicken. Food arrived and as expected, it was a lot. The chimi was stuffed with unseasoned beef. You can't rely on red/green/christmas sauce to provide seasoning - I have mine on the side. Rice was moist. A refreshing change from the dried out stuff frequently served. The Enchiladas were most likely made with breast meat - was dry. But delicious mole sauce to the rescue. Then came the sopapillas covered with cinnamon sugar - no honey was needed. They were "cakish" (don't know how to describe them better) unlike the pillowy ones usually served. Not better, not worse - just different. The service was excellent - our server came by frequently and our drinks never got below 1/2 glass. Service was 5-star, food meh. read more

Food was fabulous!! My husband had the shrimp fajitas and I had the shredded beef taco salad. So yummy!! The chips and salsa with 4 different dips was the best!!! Would definitely eat here again if we are in town. read more

While the actual restaurant is gorgeous, the prices are so ridiculously high. Why did I get a margarita and guacamole and it was almost $30? It's my fault for not checking the prices on the menu, but wow was that super disappointing. No where else in town charges that much for some guacamole and a drink. Now this Mexican food was delicious. I had the vegetarian plate which came with a cheese enchilada, hike relleno, choice of bean or guacamole tostada with rice and beans. My most favorite part is the hot hatch green chili....in my opinion it is absolutely yummy. My friend had a green chili beef burrito and rated it a 4. They give you chips with red/green/bean dip/ and jalapeño ranch. Also, sopapilla for dessert for free. It's a busy location- we opted to order online for curbside pick up but honestly the curbside is useless- you have to call the restaurant to let them know you arrived but the phone number online is invalid. Everyone that parked curbside had to go inside. I would absolutely recommend stopping here if in the area! read more

I don't go to Si Senor too often since the food can vary from one visit to the next. I did go last week for lunch and was totally disappointed in the orders. One was the chicken wing appetizer. 8 wings and 2 sauces. The wings were almost unrecognizable in the basket. 8 teeny pieces coated in some type of outer layer. I would never have been able to recognize this as wings by taste or appearance and to top it off they were very pricey. Took them home thinking someone would eat them later. No one did. THEN there was the Taco salad. Shredded lettuce, little tomato and shredded beef. Cheese. Small container of avocado that should have been seasoned better and of thinner consistency to work with the beef. Outer shell was ok but I took it home too and made burritos with the been and beef mix. I didn't realize there was beans down in the bottom until I was home. The burrito was the best part of the take home. I will go back but will order my usual. I really like the drive through the best. I do like the atmosphere of the place and the waitress was great. read more

Today I enjoyed one of my favorite meals at Si Senor...the Cambray burrito plate with rice, refried beans, and a red chile con carne and a green chile con carne smothered burrito. Both burritos were delicious. The green had a lot of spicy green chile and the red a hint of sweetness. Both were top drawer. The sopapilla was light and fresh...very good. The chips and salsas excellent . The bean dip was good too. I have attached photos of this most excellent meal. The service today was top notch...very professional. We were in Las Cruces for a sorority Reunion. There were about 20 of us. Si Senor treated us like royalty. They not only accommodated us but about 15 to 20 more Omegas and Kappas that decided at the last minute to come. Service was excellent and food was even better. The restaurant is very clean and crisp looking. Our waitress was friendly and attentive The reason for only 3 stars is the food The guacamole is nothing but smashed avocado, no seasoning at all. One of the things I greatly dislike is to receive my appetizer, then within 2 or 3 minutes receive my meal, which happened to us I had the taco plate with ground beef. Again no seasoning, very bland. My wife had the enchiladas plate, and found it to be just okay. Nothing special. I may try the restaurant again, but would not go out of my way too eat there again read more
