WORST DRINKS EVER. Traveling through town and went in for happy hour, ordered a vodka soda, it came with ABSOLUTELY NO VODKA and FLAT club soda, on top of that our server didn't even fill it full and there was hardly any ice. I inquired about their margaritas and asked what they made them with and it's nothing but tequila and sweet and sour. We have been going to Don Jose's Mexican restaurant since the 1990's. Good food. We order the cheese enchiladas with the New Mexico green sauce. Also enjoy their chicken fajitas. The refried beans are great but their charro beans are the best. Seasoned really well. A lady makes the tortillas up front. Always fresh. My granddaughter always ends the meal with the fried ice cream. If you like spicy, ask for some salsa verde also when they bring you the red sauce for chips. Really HOT but good. read more

If you're in town and looking for Mexican food, this is the place! You will be greeted by wonderful staff one of the girls that does a wonderful job is Karen. She is a bartender and also a server. Karen is on top of things, very patient with customers and attentive with orders. She makes sure your order comes out just the way you order it and checks up on you more than I've been used to. As for her drinks, they must be her specialty! The margaritas are a must when she's bartending! Y'all make sure to request Karen next time! read more

I came here to have dinner while in town visiting family and the service was terrible. The hostess told us the wait would be 20-25 minutes And we waited over an hour. To add insult to injury, this group of 4 came in after us and was told there was a 25 minute wait only to be seated ahead of us less than 5 minutes later. After that I asked for the manager who seated us almost immediately after that. When we got to the seating area, there were at least 4 other open booths available. When we got the chips and salsa, the chips were stale and all broken into little pieces. One might expect that if we had showed up closer to closing time but it was only 8pm! The manager obviously knew we had an unpleasant experience but didn't offer anything but an insincere sorry for our trouble. If he had made us feel that he valued our business then we might consider returning but the impression he left us with was that he was accustomed to complaints of unsatisfactory service. read more

It seems that the hot sauce has changed. Much more tomato and less spice. The chips also typically have a burnt taste. The service is hit or miss. The worse service I have ever recieved. I had family in town from out of state and everyone recieved their orders with the exception of two. They obviously didn't submit the order with the rest because everyone was done eating and the order still had not arrived. I had our Company Christmas Party this week. We had catering from here and it was Amazing. Alex the manager was so helpful and patient with me as I tried to figure out what we needed to order. Parents suggested this place and live close by. I am from the Dallas area and figured why not. First, it was 7-16-2016 around 4 in the afternoon. Maybe 15 people inside of that. The service, was a 0. Place was slow and couldn't refill our drinks. Had to get up and get napkins myself for our table. Second, the food way below par. I could name several Mexican fast food chains 10 times better. I had a horrible experience on Saturday. The service was the worst ever. The waiter forgot to bring our drinks, when he did they taste like watered juice. The restaurant was dirty and it smelled bad as you entered the restaurant. The kitchen door was opened as we walked by and I was in shock as to how dirty the kitchen was. The waiter never came back to the table so we walked to the bar area to pay. I ask a young lady if they were under new management and she stated everyone is just tired from graduation last night. I always ask mom where she wants to go for a Mother's Day lunch...Don Jose's for 6 years so far. The Pollo Ranchero was especially moist and tasty and the chicken enchilada would have made a meal by itself along with the charro beans and Mexican rice...the salsa is just right and the chips were warm and melted in your mouth. I never wait until Mother's Day to take her there, but it's her favorite every year. read more

food was cold. chips had a funny taste 7/5/14. waitress asked if we wanted queso we said yes the Oscar one and she brought is the plain queso I told her this is not what we ordered and she said they could bring the other one out but they would have to charge me for both. waitresses need training and so do the hostess. this was my 3rd visit and this time was disappointing. Food isn't as good as it used to be. Last two times I was there the margaritas tasted really weird. The first time the waitress replaced it with a good one. Last time I was there I asked her if they had changed their recipe for margaritas or something and she offered to "put more sweet and sour in it" for me. I passed. Its a big disappointment and we're becoming less enchanted with the place. read more

On Thursday January 9- Had one of the worst experiences of my life! The service was mediocre but the last straw was having to wait 45 minutes for food that was just bad! There was something in the taco salad that could not be identified. The margaritas were nothing but mix topped with receipt paper on the rocks! Literally a whole receipt! When the manager came to "make it right" he talked to like the customer is his equal and addressed us as "bro" and kept cutting us off each time we tried to explain what was going on. He finally raised his voice and said he would respect us if we respect him but not once did we raise our voice to a rude octave and we not once use profane language. The "assistant" manager was very immature and highly disrespectful! I tried to explain that he was being spoken to as an unsatisfied and disgruntled customer would react but again got cut off. His apology consisted of telling us he's sorry but doesn't know what is in our food! I will never go to this place again and primarily because I don't like to be treated as bad as the food tastes! read more

Walked in on a Friday expected a wait of course, to put our name on the list, 30-35 minutes ok. Then waiting watching everyone being seated that have been there for awhile which is fine, then I notice some tables becoming available 3 or 4 clean and all. I approach the hosts and ask her that table in the bar area, oh that table wasn't big enough for the party of 6 were getting to it. To watch her seat somebody right after I walked up to her, that came in 20 minutes after I did be seated. Her response was they have a party of 4 you have a party 3...
