After learning that I had been in Texas for over a decade , but wasn't a fan of Texmex. A lot of my employees suggests that I try this place, They swore this place would change my mind even if just a little. Tonight, Via DoorDash, I ordered the pork chops and eggs (over medium ) meal and two crunchy ground beef tacos meal . My Instructions say if meal isn't available, I do not want any substitutions but instead refund me my entire order. They were out of pork chops, so instead of refunding me my entire order as I requested, they made adjustments to the order and still served me the meal without the pork chops. I received scrambled eggs instead of the over medium , and instead of putting the veggies inside of my tacos. They laid my tacos sideways flat and laid the wet ingredients on the top of them . My tacos immediately crumbled when I tried to pick them up and bite them . I ended up having to turn the tacos into a taco salad. The taco meat ( ground beef ) tasted like Taco Bell's meat , which made me feel like I most definitely should have just gone to Taco Bell and I would have received more than what I got in this order and I still would have paid less , and got better quality. So it's safe to say that I was not satisfied with my meals, and that this places has made me dislike texmex food even more . read more

Hey Yall!!! Look, my wife said she saw one of her favorite TikTok creators come to this place for breakfast. We're on Spring Break so let's get these foodie reviews in. Ambiance is classic TexMex restaurant flare. It could be me but hey, the water was so good. (Had to be filtered!) Ms. Raina was our waitress. I had the Taquitos because I'm a breakfast taco dude!!! I promise I'm getting the Steak next time. The wife had the Steak and Eggs. And of course we had mimosas!!!!! Classic orange mimosa and A Strawberry mimosas. The Steak Lightly seasoned so you can taste the beef. I knew it was good when my wife was tearing the eggs and potatoes up and forgot she had steak. The Taquitos Eggs, cheese, potato's, fajita beef, salsa and a side of beans. When I tell you I feel like I'm cheating on my Taco Cabana in Pleasant Grove, (Sorry Ms. Mae, it was Spring break. Went here for a business lunch. The food was marginal at best, not very flavorful. The green hot sauce though was fantastic. Service was ok, waitress was friendly and efficient. This is a new location and it is in a prime spot. Lots of building in this area with lots of traffic coming to this location. Great service, but the food is just OK. I believe there is outdoor seating and there is a large indoor dining area. Go support local small businesses at Cancun's and around that area! Cool to watch the tortillas being made! I haven't been to Waxahachie Texas in 7 years. Well here we are again, and Yelp has me eating at the same restaurant as 7 years ago! New location, great building, and wonderful food. We both got the steak and eggs. Steak was...almost cooked perfectly. The eggs, hash browns, and biscuits and gravy were all great. A wonderful breakfast, for $9.49! What a deal! When it takes 3 people trying to figure out where to sit 2 people in a damn near empty restaurant we should have known! Anyway chips and sauce were good. I ordered chicken nacho plate and my husband ordered the cheese enchilada plate. We also ordered the house margaritas at $12 ea. The nachos were cold, soggy and didn't come with any cheese, guacamole or sour cream. If they had just offered 1 of the 3 of those would have been good,nope just smeared on beans a little chicken. That's it! And cold to boot! My husbands enchiladas were also cold. The rice was nothing special and refried beans came from a can. Now the huge margaritas. My husband and I have been wanting to eat here for a while. He has eaten at the old location and I had never tried it before. Well we are so glad we came here. There was a decent size crowd when we arrived but we didn't wait too long. Once seated I was able to taste the salsa and it was delicious!!! We both ordered the catfish and fries and both went home with enough for lunch the next day. The food was amazing. Excellent taste and fresh! A group of 12 of us went there on a Saturday night. We were asked as to who was on which ticket. (We had 3 separate tickets.) Food was great. A few people asked for refills on their drinks, which we never received. We asked for an extra basket of chips which came a lot later. When the bills were *finally* brought to the table, we found out that a 20% tip was automatically added to the bill, even though there were a few "suggested tip amounts" on the bill. We questioned this forced 20% tip, we were told it was because of the size of our party (12) and the manager said this fact was printed on the menu. None of us saw this fact, but we all know that this fact is usually printed at the bottom of the menu in really small print. Still, I don't think that a 20% tip should be forced on any size group. Also, isn't a tip supposed to be based on the quality of the service? read more

My wife and I went to Cancun's for breakfast this morning. It was excellent! We hadn't been there all summer and we noticed some differences and some comforting similarities. We noticed they had new coffee cups, but, more importantly, the coffee was improved...greatly. Our server's name was Silvia S. She was great. Very attentive, but not intrusive. She gladly and promptly attended to our requests with a notably great attitude and genuine care. So refreshing in this day and time. My wife had a Western omelette, home fries, toast, and coffee. I had Huevos a la Mexicana, corn tortillas, and coffee. Killer salsa!! It was all very good. We have eaten at Cancun's quite a bit over the years. Our experience has always been good, but there seemed to be an overall improvement in the experience. Like I say, our history of experience at Cancun's has always been good. Considering dining out, in general, it seems we are in a season of shrinking portions (not for health benefit reasons) and diminishing quality in the food itself and in the preparation of that lesser quality food, with price increases to boot. That was most certainly not the case with our breakfast at Cancun's this morning. Quite the opposite, in fact. Highly recommend Cancun's! Keep up the good work y'all. read more

The service was deplorable. all my food came out greasy. We came in from out of town and this was our first stop and it was so bad our kid wouldn't eat anything after the first bite. The customer service was ass checks. After complaint the owners just said ok and walked away. Our server was at least decent enough to offer a remake but at that point we had already been there for 45 minutes and mins you this was after a 2 hr trip. Never going back ever. Decided to try something different and tried the wings under the appetizers....saw the owner eating them on our way out one night and was like WOW!! I'm trying those next time. They have an option of a 6/10 pc served with ranch and different flavors to choose from. Got the spicy and sweet teriyaki---spicy was as it says!! spicy!! But good!! And the teriyaki-sweet and tangy-delish!! Sister had lemon pepper and they were good as well. Glad we tried them-figured if the owner was eating them they were really good and they did not disappoint. Give them a try!! Plus their ranch is so good!! I ordered a fajita salad in a bowl not a taco shell. The waitress brought out a fajita salad in a taco shell and I said "oh that's not mine, I ordered a bowl" so she gave it to my friend across the table, who had actually ordered a taco salad. After everyone else got their food, party of 7, she brought the taco salad to me and said oh they forgot to put it in a bowl it's in a shell. Not wanting to make the others wait I accepted it. It had a generous portion of taco meat., on about a half a cup of lettuce. Lettuce is cheap why be stingy with it? Then when we got the check there was a service charge of $3.92. I asked the waitress what that was for and she said it was for the cooks tip. No disclosure on this, especially with the big party they thought we wouldn't notice. If that was a percentage of the total check, it would have included my $8 beer. The cook didn't make my beer. So my taco salad ended up costing almost $17. I won't be returning, next time I can get a better salad at a fast food joint, and save a lot of money. (Btw, I've never given a one star review, I'm usually a happy diner) read more

What a fresh and delicious experience. What we really wanted were just veggie fajitas but they weren't on the menu. We asked our server, Omar, and he said of course he could make them. They threw every vegetable they had on them including delicious fresh pineapple. What came to our table was nothing short of phenomenal. Even the chef add the manager came out to check on our food. The restaurant has a really laid-back vibe. I would definitely check out the daily specials because they can be a really good bargain. Although I did not get the beef nachos or chicken fried steak, I have heard that they are superb. The complementary ice cream also makes this a great place for those families with many children. The food overall is good; although, it should be noted that they do not serve alcohol. The space is quite large and can probably host a large group very well. The walls are somewhat plain but the good food outweighs the simple ambiance of the restaurant. read more

I've lived in the area three years and for some UNKNOWN reason, I've never been to this restaurant. We sat on the patio, and let me tell you, ITS PERFECT. Palm trees and overlooking the water!!? I've been driving to Dallas this whole time to have drinks and brunch on a nice patio, and this gem has been right down the road this entire time. The worst experience eating out I have had in a while. The place is dirty the floors have so much oil on them it is a broken hip waiting to happen. Suppose to get complimentary chips and salsa????? Nope we even ordered queso to go with it and no chips came. We did however get a spoon with the queso. I suppose we were to eat it like soup? My plate was under the heat lamp so long that my beans and rise dried out and stuck to the plate. The person that was with me had perfect beans and rice? (We both ordered the enchilada plate, so not exactly sure what happened there) We saw our waitress when we ordered, she brought our food and brought our check(30 minutes after I stopped eating what little food that was edible on my plate). So no refills on beverages here, and no asking if everything was all right (maybe she knew when my plate was basically untouched). And god forbid if they actually take away any excess plates of used dishes from your table (our table still has stuff in it from the previous customers!!!!! ) Never again!!!!!!! read more

I have been coming here since they opened. I give them a solid 3 stars for overall experience. It's definitely my go-to place for breakfast when I have friends or family with me. They have something for everyone. My daughter likes hot oatmeal with raisin toast. My other daughter, the huevos rancheros which has a very tasty ranchero sauce. My wife loves the egg & ham sandwich on the crescent roll. I really enjoy the ham and cheese omelette with jalapeños. The ham is great! They have really good pancakes as well. They have lunch specials which are a really good value. The chicken fried steak is reliably good. I love their cheese enchiladas with the con carne sauce. The Spanish rice is truly the best around in my opinion. The Cancun burger was unexpectedly very good. They are very friendly here as well. The same waitstaff has been working here for years. The owner comes to every table with his "welcome home " catchphrase and asks how you are doing. If you don't know where to go, there is something here for every taste. It's not gourmet by any means, but it won't cost an arm and leg and it's reliably good. read more
