we like the convenience of Don Juan! Very fast and good food. If you get a bowl or a salad there is always sooo much I end up getting multiple meals out of it. We love the empanadas and the bravo style tacos! I've gotten this twice because it's convenient. It somehow racks up a much higher bill to feed 2 people than you'd expect for a quick-serve Mexican restaurant. Took the family out since one of the kids requested a burrito. We typically go to Cali Burrito but wanted to try something closer to home. Glad we did. Don Juan Mex Grill is a great find in Emmaus. Quality ingredients, great service, tasty food. Plenty of seating inside. Sala selection is down to Mild, Medium and Hot. The hot was great. No pre-made or inspired versions of anything (but they will help you with recommendations), you are your own burrito artists, so everything is made to order. read more

So like everyone else I was excited about a Mexican food joint opening in our area. The website was also really appealing. I ordered 2 burritos and quite frankly I think I need a second visit to come to a final conclusion. Overall, the meat and rice could have used a lot more seasoning for flavor. Same goes for the salsas. I ordered guacamole, but never received it. The biggest disappointment came when I bit into the burrito and realized that it was almost all rice and lettuce. It had very little meat and beans. This practically ruined it for me because the burrito itself was HUGE, so how could only a spoonful be meat? Maybe this was a fluke. Maybe the tacos are better. Maybe I'm better off ordering the burrito without rice. I don't know... I'll give this place one more time and see. Just cause you serve "tacos", "burritos" and you play Spanish music, doesn't give you the right to call it a Mexican restaurant or even Tex-Mex for that matter. That is false advertisement! Cinco de Mayo, 5/5/2020 - ordered online at 4:30PM and selected pick-up at 6:30PM. You'd think that 2 hours would be enough time to prepare an order. When I arrived, there were about 20 people standing outside and about 12 people inside, all waiting for the food they ordered. There was no system in place and while chatting to some of the people, they'd had already been waiting an hour for the food they ordered on Don Juan's website earlier in the day. They seemed to prioritize the Door Dash and Grub Hub orders, as there were a bunch of orders sitting on the tables and those drivers would go in to pick up their orders. I don't blame the staff there; they were doing their best with the tools and staff they were given. I blame the owner, who clearly has no clue how to effectively staff a kitchen. It's Cinco de Mayo!! It's obvious he didn't plan accordingly...or at all! It's absolutely understandable how and why his restaurant on Brookside Road failed. I ate there twice and the service and food were mediocre, at best. I decided to give this place one last try and ordered dinner on Cinco de Mayo. Big mistake...but it's the last one I make with this place and owner! FYI - finally got my order at 8:30PM...4 hours after I ordered and 2 hours after the scheduled pick-up time. Done. This place is great! I am so sorry that we waited so long to try it. The food was all very fresh, and portions were large. My cranky 14 year old daughter actually complained because her tacos had too much beef on them! She is used to Fiesta Ole, lol. My son had a chicken burrito, it was huge. He gave me a bite-yum! My husband had some sort of bowl. It was overflowing with vegetables, it was so bright and fresh and flavorful. I had a chicken quesadilla. I could only eat 2 pieces of it because it had so much inside it. The Pico de Gallo was awesome, and the salsa bar was a nice touch, although it was getting low when we were there. My only criticism is that they used that orange canned glue cheese on the nachos. We will definitely be back again and again, very soon! read more

I ordered a chicken burrito and I loved it! I honestly like their chicken better than the chicken at chipotle, moe's, or Cali burrito. We ordered a side of chips and guacamole. The guacamole was ok; comparable to store bought guac. It also had a lot of dark spots like it had been sitting for a while which we had to pick around. Would recommend, but skip the guac! read more

Tonight my husband placed an order online at 6:36 and at 7:22pm he was still there waiting.
