I started looking online on saturday late in the afternoon and did some of the paperwork with a vehicle I was interested in. I received an email from Marcel Williams and I called him back. He explained that the vehicle I was interested in was a service loaner and might not be available at that time. I told him that was okay as I had not settled on it yet. He was going to start processing our finance paperwork and would call me back when he had some answers. Since it was late I was not worried that I would hear back that day. We decided to stop in sunday at around opening to see what all was on the lot that we might like. We were dropped off and were immediately approached by Jake Clark who was out front with a couple other sales people. I told him I had talked to Marcel and would like to know what he had come up with first. He went to check and while we were waiting I got a call from another gentleman who had our info from Marcel. I asked if we could just talk in person as we were already there. He greeted us and we got together with Jake to see about a vehicle. The one I looked at online was indeed not available so I asked if I could just see what was there. I explained some of what we wanted and didn't want and we got in the golf cart to look around. While he was taking us to see some Equinoxes I spotted one I liked the color of and had him go back. We both checked it out and liked the color as well as the look of the interior. The amount of storage in the back was important to us and it fit the bill. He took us back up front and went to get the keys. He insisted I take a test ride, as I can be difficult. My companion concurred and Jake told us the route to take. It handled well and and was easy to understand. I came back and we began the process to make the purchase. The only thing I was not thrilled with is the feel of the steering wheel but I will put a cover on it soon. I felt bad for Jake as he offered if he could get us anything like water or coffee or a soda and I asked if I could get a Coke and he had to come back to tell me the soda machine was in service and unavailable. I had a hot cocoa instead and it was a good choice. He got all our paperwork done and set us up for the financing. The overall wait time was much better than I expected and everyone we dealt with was very friendly. Once we were ready they got us the keys and Jake came out to go over everything with us and make sure we did not have any more questions. I believe we covered everything and I was happy to leave with a new Chevy Equinox. I have already ordered some extras online that I will be picking up when they arrive. The absolutely worst dealership I have ever been in, in my 74 years. I brought in an older 2007 Chevy with a list of things to check. The radio and several other things had suddenly stopped working. I asked the writer to check the fuses. I also asked them to check the tailgate and do a complete safety check. They replaced the tailgate struts. Gave me an estimate for a new radio with no solutions for fixing the key fobs to work. The car passed the inspection even though a tail light was not working. The key fobs were not working, the dash light did not work and the radio did not work as well. I did get two tail gate struts. I asked the writer if they checked the fuses and she said they had and they were all good. Hmmmmmmm. I later took the car to another shop to have the tail light replaced and they replaced 2 fuses. Magically the radio, the key fobs and everything else started to work correctly. Stay away from these hacks. They don't do what they say and they for sure do not know how to fix simple repairs. Their estimate was almost $500.00 for the radio and the writer told me to take the taillight elsewhere where it would be cheaper. I had everything fixed elsewhere. Only cost me a couple of bucks for the new fuses and we all had a good laugh about the dealers lack of professionalism. Stay away from this place!!! read more

I bought a brand new camaro and they removed any spare tire, there was no jack, it was supposed to come with an inflation kit and they removed it and said it no longer came with it, I paid 40+k for this vehicle and all they cared about was nickle and dimiing us and leaving us stranded if we get a flat, I will never buy from this dealer again and I strongly recommend no one else does because all they care about is car sales and don't give a damn about their customers, me and my husband are both first responders and we have been treated like dirt, don't ever by a vehicle from them. read more

First time buying a car with no hassle at all. They took care of me very attentive and respectful.

AVOID: Don Mealey Chevrolet of Clermont, FL at all costs. Their service department (whom had possession of my new 2021 Tahoe for 3 weeks due to a recall) caused front end damage to my front bumper which was custom painted black to hide the chrome accents. They also caused damage (scratches and a curb dent) to 1 of my custom 26" rims ($1,200 per rim), and that's not even including the satin paint job that I had paid $250 (per rim) for. On top of this all, I was promised that GM would reimburse me for up to $40/day for a rental (since this is the only dealership I've encountered after 20+ years, and dozens of vehicles) that does not provide a loaner to their customers). Neil Wright (the service manager) had agreed verbally via email that Don Mealey Chevrolet would cover the cost of their damage, acknowledging that they were liable for the cause. He also ignored my email with my rental receipt (which exceeded $40/day as there's nowhere on earth you can rent a full sized SUV for that price), so I ended up paying $80+ a day (eating $40/day x 3+ weeks out of my own pocket). Neil Wright has ignored both of my emails with the bodyshop estimate, as well as phone calls. All I needed to know was how the payment would be handled, as in: A) would Don Mealey Chevrolet prefer to pay the bodyshop directly or B) should I pay the bodyshop and get reimbursed via Don Mealey Chevrolet. So while I continue to get zero communication from Don Mealey Chevrolet and/or Nick Wright, I will be paying the bodyshop directly to have the work done and then I will be handling this matter in small claims court to recoup my losses, not only from their damage to my SUV, but for the $40/day rental coverage that I was never reimbursed on. read more

From the moment we stepped foot on the property I was immediately welcomed. I was informed by the manager that they were short staffed and that he would help us as much as he could until the next salesman was available. We were passed on to Christian Wheelan, he was very helpful, knowledgeable and made you feel comfortable. Towards the end we were talking about random things more than talking about the car I was purchasing. I went there looking for a Chevy Traverse but realistically and financially it was not a smart move on my part. I took some time went home and thought about it and searched up the Chevy Equinox, I didn't like the older version but the 2025 popped up and it looked like the mini version of the Traverse. It was 6 something at night when we reached out to Christian to see if he had any on the lot. He said he had two, we rushed back and I purchased a 2025 Chevy Equinox, it wasn't even processed through their system yet and he helped me get my dream car. Even the finance guy, I believe his name was John, he was great and didn't pressure us into purchasing anything we didn't want. I came here for an oil change the day before I had to drive across the state. I woke up to leave to find the oil all over the floor of my garage. Nobody answered the phone at Don Mealey, so I took it to the mom and pop shop I usually go to. They replaced the o-ring Don Mealey destroyed and refilled the oil. Luckily, my local place was able to get me in right away and fix me up, so I didn't have to cancel my weekend of plans. I later spoke to someone at Don Mealey who said they would pay for the repair, but I'm never cheating on my little shop up the street again. An oil change isn't hard to do. I brought my truck here last week to get a coolant leak checked. they quoted me over $2,000 dollars for the fix. on top months prior tried to charge me over $700 for a simple transmission flush and filter change. I brought my vehicle to another dealer for a different quote for the coolant leak and Don Mealey mis diagnosed my truck and wouldn't cover it under warranty. I took my car into the dealership when hot air started blowing out my air conditioner. One week later they called and said it was ready (they had only added coolant to try to find a leak), but nothing was fixed. I had to take it back the next week because my my air conditioner was causing the engine to overheat and now no air was blowing in the back of my SUV. Fast forward two more weeks with the car in the shop and finally it was ready for pick up. When I arrived my car had the same issues it was left with two weeks prior. NO AIR in FLORIDA DURING JULY!!! I was unhappy, so they hurried the process along and did fix the air conditioning problem the same day. The very next day I picked up my car and I had a fully functioning air conditioner, only now my car engine is making extremely loud sounds and I have to go in again for a 5th time! What a horrible and LONG process that has cost me so much time and energy. read more

Don Mealey Chevrolet just told me that after they replaced my blown engine under warranty in my Wives Chevy Equinox that the Engine problems that we are having after they replaced it is not under warranty. So disappointing in Don Mealy. Love Chevy, but will never take my business to Don Mealey Chevrolet. Not impressed. This is the third issues with the vehicle and I just can't trust the Equinox anymore. I tired to explain to the service manager that they just replaced my engine when it blew up and he said it doesn't matter. One of the most common symptoms associated with a faulty ignition coil is engine performance issues. So I had a bad engine. It blew up. I had a nail on my covette tire. Took it in for a patch and the service department discovered a tear on the lip of the tire. They claim that they did not do it. Granted they do have a state of the art machine for removing tires, however how is it that I was able to drive my corvette, with that same tire, for almost three years and not lose pressure until getting a nail, just recently. The service department made me feel like I was lying and that it happened somewhere else... and that I was trying to claim through them. The original dealer (Stingray Chevrolet), where I bought the car, honored me a pro-rate coverage, through GM, for the ripped tire. Don Mealy Chevrolet could've done the same thing and would've won me as a customer. Instead they wanted me to buy a new tire "at cost"... according to them. read more

Purchasing a new car Pros: 1) Great choice of new car; 2) Shanna Williams is a great sales associate, she is very friendly and nice. Cons: 1) Shanna Williams didn't explain all the features that car that I took for test drive has, instead of explaining how this car "amazing" she is keep asking personal questions, as where I work, how much I want to spend, how much I can pay monthly... it's ok to ask when a person already knows for sure that she want to purchase this car. In my case I was only checking if this car comfortable to drive and which features this car has... when I asked questions about car, only than she started explained everything; 2) Appointment system is not working, when I called to office I made an appointment with a certain person for a test drive, when I arrived they said that this guy is an "internet" seller, so they gave me other guy Steve, but he was keep saying that he has another customer in 40 min, so instead of test drive 3 different cars that I planned, he said choose one... or make an appointment for other day, lol, I got very upset because I already made an appointment for today, couple days ago in advance!!!! So I told him give me another sales person who is not in rush and can explain me properly everything, he took me to Shanna Williams; 3) no offering water or tea while waiting for "estimate" price for the car and It took so long to bring me a pricing. read more

terrible experience with this dealership, first they was scamming me on fake windshield repairs, which I told my insurance about and it stopped, then when i bought my brand new 2017 Camaro, which I love, I bought the paint warranty, which the paint started to have issues all over the car, the paint warranty was denied and they said it wasnt because of them but my fault, so i took it to someone to have analyzed and they confirmed its bad paint job on GM account, which they denied to fix. i since have called twice to speak to someone about my car warranty as Im starting to have issues, and twice no one has returned my call, while I'm driving on my warranty which could run out, very upset with who I bought it from and very upset they paint didn't last but 30k miles. After 4 daily notices of my upcoming appt{nice}, I showed up on time for my appt,standing around doing nothing were a group of 'service rep's' ,I had to get the attention of one, who looked at the schedule and shrugged her shoulders and said she couldn't find it. If I could give this dealership 0 stars I would because truthfully they don't even deserve a 1 star rating. I took my 2016 Corvette ($70,000 with 6000 miles) for an oil change and to read engine codes due to a engine light. 2 hours later I'm told the car is fine and I'm good to go. I drive the car 50 feet and the engine light comes back on. I told the service advisor/manager multiple times a sensor that should not be exposed, is in fact exposed and is most likely the issue at hand. After waiting an additional 2 hours the Service Manager found it more important to argue with me and demean me when they refused to work on the car. I even asked for a repair cost, as i was willing to pay even though the car is still under warranty, and was told "here is your car, have a good day". If that wasn't enough upon returning home I find that my headlight has been damaged. I called and asked if they did an inspection before servicing the car, I also asked if there was any damage reported. They said they preformed a 360 degree inspection and no damage was found. I told them of the issue and the service manager has dodged all my attempts of contact since. This is the SECOND time I have been treated poorly at this dealership. You have forever lost my business. I will never set foot inside your dealership again. This is the most expensive vehicle GM currently sells, and this is how I was treated.... My first impression was great. But in the end they dropped the ball. They did go out of the way to find me the Tahoe with 4WD (very unusual in FL) They promised to install my handicap equipment before the sale but after the deal was closed reused to follow through. The salesman told me he had talked and setup the install with service. when I returned to have the equipment installed service refused and gave me attitudes like I was lying. They have caused safety issues for me and my ability to drive. I the end they behaved like the typical cliche car salesman. Promise the world before the sale then ignore you after. I made the mistake of not getting the extra work placed into the sales contact. Love the vehicle, not so hot or trust the dealer after the sale. Quite frankly the salesman were not knowledgeable about what they were selling and they did not seem to want to make a deal. When I come into a dealership it's as a serious buyer. We bought a used car from them. Part of the signed negotiated contract included an oil change. When we asked why the oil change button was not reset we were told 'they forgot'. When we asked for the service paperwork 4 days later they admitted to not doing the oil change. One worker looked my husband in the face and said it was completed, he saw the SUV on the lift. The sales staff apologized and offered one measly oil change for breech of contract. I really wanted to like this dealership but sadly they are crooks too.
