    Steak Chilaquiles about $13
    Scott G.

I go to the Camas Don Pedro often. I got the chilaquiles with steak and it was good. The service was fine, but not as cheerful as some of their other locations. It's the best of the PDX Mexican food chains. Check it out.

I have been coming to this Don Pedro since my birth and existence 23 years ago. My mom would take us here for fish tacos growing up. It's a core memory of mine. The food here is always amazing. I love chicken, steak, and pastor on tacos and burritos. Ceviche is very good. I have a soft spot for chicken quesadillas. I do not like guac or sour cream so I ask for it without and it's a bit expensive so I wish I could have rice and beans instead. I also love their horchata. The breakfast burritos are a hit too. The staff are nice and very fast. When I don't understand something they kindly explain. The drive through is usually pretty fast although there isn't a great spot to park and eat after the drive through since it takes you right to the road. You could risk your life and drive on the wrong side of the road to get back to the parking lot but that is not something I would do. The location is in an interesting part of town so it's not the nicest.

I really love their breakfast menu. The pancakes and French toast tasted delicious. Their fries are well seasoned. I really enjoyed my experience being served at a reasonable time. It does get busy, but the food is worth it. The staff is friendly. I do see that they are clean.

Got a breakfast sandwich. It was pretty solid and a good deal. The salsa bar helped add a lot of flavor. I do wish I had known they out mayo in it, as I don't really like mayo. Overall, decent spot for a breakfast sandwich.

Pros: *The breakfast burritos are really good! *Salsa is good but not the best. Cons: *Very expensive for what you get. * They take a long time to make food so know this before ordering in the drive thru as you will be there for awhile

Both the fish and the prawns were cooked in a red sauce that was delicious! I meant to ask for blue corn tortillas but was so excited to find shrimp & fish tacos that weren't deep-fried that I forgot to ask for them. The regular corn tortillas were excellent, though, so it was not a bad mistake to make. I also had jamaica to drink and let me tell you... it was not made from a mix! It was dark, thirst-quenching, and perfectly made. Most jamaica is super sweet - this was not! I love the flavor of real hibiscus and this did not disappoint. My friends had chile relleno bowls and birria tacos, all of which was excellent. Their watermelon margaritas were tasty and refreshing! Our orders were taken by a helpful person at the cash register and the food was served quickly by a friendly server. The inside and outside areas were clean and tidy, with plenty of seating available at the outside tables. The outdoor seating area is under cover making it a good choice for both summer & winter dining. Definitely going on my "have to go back and try something else" list!

Such a small detail that makes a big difference. The Citrus Salad was super fresh, crisp, and delicious, which balanced everything out perfectly. I also tried the NA classic margarita and it was so refreshing. I loved the subtle touch of orange juice. Overall, such a lovely spot with amazing food, great vibes, and thoughtful details. I will definitely be back!

I tried their course menu, and every dish was presented with such care and beauty. What I especially appreciated was how each dish was bursting with flavor without being overly salty or sweet -- something that's surprisingly hard to find at restaurants. For the amount of food and the overall experience, I thought it was a great way to experience the restaurant. Ángel took care of us and made the meal even more memorable by telling us the story and inspiration behind each dish as it came out. It made the tasting feel like much more than just trying a bunch of different dishes. I'm definitely a carnivore and usually feel like a meal needs some kind of meat, but surprisingly, my favorite dish was the mole with eggplant and rice. The mole was delicious, and I genuinely didn't miss having meat on the plate. I would happily order that dish again exactly as it was. The tomates en salsa arabe were another standout. I really enjoyed how fresh the dish tasted, especially with the seasonal tomatoes they were using. I also had the carnitas tacos, which had great flavor and texture. For dessert, we had what was essentially a fried concha, and I loved that it wasn't overly sweet. It had just the right amount of sweetness for me and was a great way to finish the meal. Overall, I highly recommend doing the full tasting menu at República. For around $40 per person, you get to experience the entire menu, and if you're lucky enough to have Ángel there to walk you through the stories and concepts behind the dishes, it makes the experience that much better.
