They have over 50 items, including American style breakfasts. My chile relleno tasted very good, as well the rice and beans. I should have ordered a cheese enchilada instead if chicken. I have been coming to this Don Pedro since my birth and existence 23 years ago. My mom would take us here for fish tacos growing up. It's a core memory of mine. The food here is always amazing. I love chicken, steak, and pastor on tacos and burritos. Ceviche is very good. I have a soft spot for chicken quesadillas. I do not like guac or sour cream so I ask for it without and it's a bit expensive so I wish I could have rice and beans instead. I also love their horchata. The breakfast burritos are a hit too. The staff are nice and very fast. When I don't understand something they kindly explain. The drive through is usually pretty fast although there isn't a great spot to park and eat after the drive through since it takes you right to the road. You could risk your life and drive on the wrong side of the road to get back to the parking lot but that is not something I would do. The Carne Asada tasted old and was extremely chewy--so much so that it was nearly impossible to eat. The rice seemed like it had been sitting out for quite a while and lacked any freshness or flavor. The side salad was disappointing as well--no toppings at all, just plain lettuce--and the ranch was incredibly watery. My husband and I eat here WAY TO OFTEN. Our go to is breakfast burritos. Cheapest and largest burritos in town! I always get the vegetarian burrito with fajita and my husband gets the steak breakfast burrito. Basic, huge and just what you need after a long run or a night out on the town. I would recommend getting the orange habanero sauce. It's amazing! Very convenient location off 122nd and it's great to call ahead and have the food ready, super nice staff! I am by far not an expert but I know what I like and I love their breakfast burritos. They make a solid meal and they offer a generous variety of salsas. If you catch them on a good day they even have sautéd onions, scallions and jalapeños in the crock pot. They do a stellar drive through business and I have used it, but prefer to eat there and partake in all the extras. Staff are bilingual but Spanish is the predominant language spoken with customers. They can get really busy and orders can take a little longer but it's worth the wait! read more

My mother in law was in town and wanted to pick up some Mexican for lunch, so we stopped at Don Pedro's. My wife got some al pastor tacos, and I got a steak burrito. Tacos were pretty dry, and even their house habanero sauce didn't help make them more of a 2/5. The burrito was hefty, and seemed to have random vegetables tossed in intermittently with the beans, rice, and steak. I found one random hunk of carrot inside... carrot? Weird. Overall, the food had very little flavor going on other than a general greasiness. Speaking of grease, the bag carrying our takeout had about half an inch of standing grease at the bottom (which is also where they put the napkins). Don Pedro on SE 122nd and Stark was so bad that it made me write a Yelp review for the first time in three years to keep people away from it. Not only did they screw up my order, but the burrito contained CHUNKS OF FROZEN VEGETABLES. I ordered a burrito al pastor from their drive-through and specified "no lettuce." When the person on the intercom asked if I wanted anything else, I asked if they had salsa de aguacate, which I'd had at another Don Pedro restaurant just a few miles away and loved. They did not recognize what I was asking about, so I didn't press the issue--I know that not all Don Pedros have that one. At the drive-through window, an employee asked me if I wanted salsa, and I said yes, and received one red and one green. Nothing at all unusual. When I got home and bit into my burrito, I was disappointed at how bland and dry it was. I found no beans, no cheese, no sour cream, barely any onions, and what little meat it contained was almost tasteless. Salsas only made it a bit better--the green was serviceable, but the red was bad--more like a spicy, watery ketchup than a proper salsa roja. As I continued eating, thinking that maybe they just didn't mix the ingredients within the burrito, I was disturbed to find random bits of mixed vegetables--the kind you get frozen in a bag. A carrot here, a pea there, a kernel of corn further in, and so on. I'm surprised I didn't find the obligatory lima beans and chopped green beans. Contaminating a burrito with this detritus from school cafeterias and TV dinners is a revolting insult to Mexican AND American cuisine. It was so bad that I couldn't even finish it, so I threw it away and looked at my receipt. Upon inspection, I noticed that they also botched my order. No wonder it was bland--the receipt said "no salsa." I don't understand how they could make this mistake. I asked for salsa on the intercom. I said yes to salsa at the drive-through. I suspect whoever keyed this in also told the cooks not to put anything else with flavor on it. I don't normally complain about service or mistakes. They happen sometimes and I'm not a high-maintenance customer. But making such a drastic assumption about an order and not asking to confirm or clarify is an unacceptable error. And for that matter, frozen mixed vegetables DO NOT BELONG in a burrito! Oh, another thing that might cause you problems--they don't list their prices legibly on the drive-through menu. Buyer beware. There is no excuse to eat here and subject yourself to this trash. There is plenty of great Mexican food in Portland, especially in East County. For example, La Tia Juana, El Cazador, Tortilleria y Tienda De Leon, and the tamale/esquite kiosk outside of La Tapatia, to name just a few delicious examples. For that matter, the Don Pedro on SE 190th and Stark is pretty good (especially their breakfast burritos and their salsa de aguacate). Let me reiterate. DO NOT EAT HERE. They're incompetent enough to screw up your order and wretched enough to put random frozen vegetables in a burrito. read more

4 stars for consistent, well prepared Breakfast burritos for 3.99 ! Choice of bacon, sausage, chorizo or my favorite just eggs, potatoes (hash browns) with a slight char on them and cheese. I've ordered over 25 burritos ( for work event) and it's only a 15 min wait. They also are open way early too. 6am (that's early for Oregonians) I also think they make a pretty tasty enchilada. I think I'm addicted to the carne asada torta. My first trip to Don Pedro's was 2 weeks ago. I've been back twice since. My first visit I got a boring pastor burrito. The pork was gristly and lacked flavor. I'm glad my Don P experience didn't end there. I decided to grab a torta to go so I would have something to eat later. Best decision ever. The asada was everything the pastor wasn't. It was juicy, lean and amazing. If you told me carne asada was Spanish for unicorn meat I would believe you. This stuff is too good to have come from some ordinary cow. With a torta, this perfect meat comes gently cradled in delightfully soft bread. The torta experience is made complete by generously applying the orange salsa found in the salsa bar. The salsa isn't too spicy and the flavor is the perfect complement to the sandwich. read more

The best place for a late night snack! Always come here when we have the munchies and only order the tacos. Tacos are relatively cheap. I always get pork or steak. Don't get sour cream as it really racks up the price - just make sure you have some at home. Comes with pickled veggies and red and green sauce. I will never get tired of their tacos. Just what I wanted from a taqueria - cheap, big portions, and a GREAT SALSA BAR. Being a short waddle from a Max station is a huge plus, too. He ordered Carne Asada- there were also refried beans and seasoned rice on his plate. I asked for two glasses of H2O. The wait was brief. The Sopes were tasty. My Husband liked his lunch plate. I went back to ask for a box for my leftovers. There weren't any other people ordering when I arrived that were inside. The television was on a Spanish language station. I think the News was on. There were a few other people who ordered after I sat at one of the booths. The Salsa station wasn't out because it's a Pandemic. The Don Pedro restaurant was clean. The Clerk who took the orders was able to speak English so my Husband ordered his lunch in English. In the refrigerator on the counter to the side were smaller containers of Flan, Jumex cans (it's fruit juices), and bottles of Jarritos sodas. We will be back. read more
