I came here late on a Friday night to enjoy some food and got so much more. I came with my sister Mariea for her birthday dinner. We sat upstairs where the atmosphere turns into a club and we were surrounded by dancing and loud music. Anyways the food was delicious, I had a pear margarita, guacamole with chips, Mac and cheese bites, and the steak tacos. It was all amazing and worth being here in the club environment. Not only do the second and third floors smell like vomit, but the service is poor . The line is always extremely long just to get in and be pushed around and get an attitude from the staff. The crowd is trashy and ruins the Clarendon vibe. This is the same owner as a bunch of local establishments all who are obsessed with themselves but nothing to show for it. They claim to be social media influencers but have yet to improve the food or service at Don Tito's. They are not influencing anything but me not coming to their places. These type of establishment ruin what used to be charming Clarendon with dive bars and mom and pop shops. Being from TX .... We love our tex-mex...so I have to step back and not compare it that way. The food here is good but not compared to what I think is good Mexican food. We came for happy hour and what's awesome is that they have 3 levels so plenty of space for happy hour. They will even allow you to sit at tables, it's not just at the bar for happy hour! We tried the tacos which were delicious, it comes with a hot sauce and green sauce! empanadas - were okay, it didn't have as crisp of an outer shell as I liked but flavorful on the inside. Don-Tito which is located in the heart of Clarendon is a sister of A-Town. I can honestly say that I'm a fan of Don Tito's brunch. Mind you I have tried both A-Town and Don Tito's brunch and I'm impressed by Don Tito's because of their massive food selection and their drink specials. They have a total of 3 floors with a bar on each floor. Space is limited especially during the summer once the rooftop opens. But the view is just amazing especially during those summer nights. Expect long lines and minimal space at night. The night life experience can be very crowded but the good side is that all 3 floors have a bathroom. Definitely a go to place for nightlife. They have an various selections of Tequila and they provide flights as well for a decent price. Moving forward, I've thoroughly enjoy brunch and happy hour due to their specials and their amazing food options. Food options for brunch definitely go to Don Tito's. Why does this place have four stars? Perhaps the 20-somethings primarily occupying this joint have never tasted food before, or perhaps the tequila on the rooftop bar is rendering them incapacitated prior to leaving a review. 1. ***Happy Hour Review*** Don Tito's has more of a sleek lounge feel, without trying too hard (though it is in Clarendon so take that for what it's worth). I went to Don Tito's with some girlfriends for a Thursday happy hour and chose to go to the bar on the second floor. Since it was a nice day, Don Tito's had multiple windows open and I believe they may have a roof top too. It was also really busy, but we managed to snag a spot at the bar. They have daily specials and regular happy hour specials. Thursday's special is $8.00 jumbo margaritas. Their daily specials include $3.00 steak, chicken, or carnitas tacos, and beer and wine specials. I decided on a glass of wine and three tacos, 2 steak and 1 carnitas. I really enjoyed their tacos. They were tasty and well seasoned. Good bar food too. Our bartender, Dante, was awesome. He took great care of us and even got us a free round of shots when one of my friends had a broken glass from the bar. The clientele of Don Tito is a slightly older crowd for happy hour (late twenties and up). I'll be curious to see how they would be on the weekends. Hopefully they maintain the classy establishment and not participate in a Clarendon bar crawl. read more

Came on a Friday evening at ~7:45pm in good spring weather. Had a party of 6. The quoted wait time was 1 hour which was reasonably accurate. We went to the rooftop for a drink while we waited. It was packed and we eventually got to the bar at 8:03pm. Was told happy hour was over at 8pm and too bad. This was a huge negative that they couldn't just give me one round at HH prices when I couldn't make it over to the bar in time. Apparently the computer blocks out the hh specials...yea, sure it does and there's no possible way to override it? It was a nice touch they called my cell phone when the table was ready. They also accommodated us when a 7th showed up. We were seated on the 2nd floor. BUT it was WAY TOO LOUD. We couldnt hear each other at all. Ambient noise and loud music overwhelmed all the senses. And there were so many other folks standing around the tables that the wait staff could not easily make it to the table. Then the waitress could not hear us nor did she write down anything we ordered. The order came back scrambled with a couple mistakes. It was amazing there were only a couple mistakes given the utter chaos. Well, a group our size has gratuity included so no surprise service was mediocre. The busboys also annoyingly kept on coming back when we were no where near finished and would interrupt us, then would expect us to hand the dishes down the line since we were in a booth. The food quality was ok. good sized nachos. Lomo soltado was tender albeit very small portion. Tacos were reasonably authentic. As we were leaving after 10:30 or so, the tables were getting moved out of the way to make room for what may be a dance floor. This is definitely a great place for happy hour! Nice rooftop, food, drinks, all of that. The only downside is that it gets super busy, so be prepared to wait in lines or have to stand up because majority of the tables are taken. Definitely recommend coming here though. Saw the fab ratings and thought I'd give it a try for a quick bite but I wasn't impressed. Chicken taco - lacked spices--- crab croquettes were ok, but the chipotle sauce lack chipotle seasoning??? (how does that even make sense) -- Sangria, however was delish, I must say! And the ambiance? Oh it was to live for -- took me back to NYC.. That's $5+ per soft fish taco....really steep by any means. Tasty, but it's still a fish taco. They put a guacamole type sauce on top instead of the traditional West Coast white sauce. I got a Yelp account *just* for this review because the food was *that* bad. My husband and I came here on a Saturday for brunch. Since they have a very limited a la carte menu, we both opted for the $24.99 all-you-can-eat brunch menu. Because it was all-you-can-eat, and the servers kept bringing us food we didn't order, we tried a lot of things and it was all horrible (reminiscent of the Mexican food at a cheap all-inclusive resort). The tacos were greasy and flavorless. Menu items, like shrimp tacos, were breaded and fried with no warning on the menu (my husband can't eat gluten). The quesadilla was supposed to have "brussels sprouts, eggplant relish, and mushrooms" inside. It came with mushrooms and squash, completely different from what the menu advertised. Since the savory items were so awful, we decided to try some dessert. The churros were rock hard and so caked in sugar that they were inedible. When I look at the favorable reviews, I note the people typically only had drinks and the free chips and salsa (which were both good). I think that is your only safe bet here. As someone who lives in this neighborhood, I implore Tom Sietsema from the Washington Post to write a scathing review and close this place down so a restaurant with quality food can take its place. read more

I went back to Don Tito for dinner and drink this past Thursday. The experience was much better. The margaritas were delicious, and we tried a variety of tapas and fajitas. My favorites were the guacamole and the carne asada and shrimp tapas. I would also recommend the fajitas. The Ravens game was on this Thursday, and we had a front and center view of the TVs for the game. The atmosphere was lively and fun! Also, happy hour goes until 8 here, with food and $5 margaritas. My only complaint is that we had reservations, and we called to say we would be 15 minutes late. But when we arrived they had given up our table so we had to wait for 20 minutes before we were sat. 5 stars, all the way. Whenever I visit Don Tito, I always have an unforgettable time. They've 100% turned this place around from what it used to be formally known as, Eventide. The place is spacious;with three floors. The first floor is the main bar. The second has a bar and booths and hightops for dining, and the third is the rooftop which, by the way, has an amazing view of Clarendon. Also, the decor is absolutely gorgeous and I LOVE the artwork they picked! I would definitely come and check this place out. The food here is truly superb as are the drinks. For starters, I would recommend the fresh guacamole, spinach and crab dip, as well as the Mac and cheese bites. For small plates, if you're a meat eater like myself, try the Lomo Saltado, the taste of the beef tenderloin just melts in your mouth...absolutely delicious! If you prefer something other than meat, the veggie quesadilla and the grilled portobello mushroom tacos are also great choices. There are many other suggestions I could rant on about but again this is the kind of place you would just need to experience for yourself! The pricing at Don Tito is reasonable and the portions are just right. Also, the service is great! Every time I visit I've had a different server and all have been very attentive in making sure my table is spotless and drinks are full, whether it's just my water glass or one of their tasty margaritas! ***BRUNCH REVIEW*** My friends and I were on the streets of Arlington when we stumbled upon Don Tito's for their Sunday Brunch. The middle floor was where the brunch took place. Unfortunately, we did not plan ahead of time and make reservations for brunch so the seats were full on the middle and rooftop floors. Lucky for us, the first floor was empty so we just took a plate and walked our food downstairs and enjoyed our brunch. I would say their brunch special is a pretty good deal. $30 for all you can eat buffet style. And if you would like to have a "Sunday Funday", take advantage of their mimosas or frose (frozen rose) for only 5 cents a glass. I thought it was a fabulous deal! As for their buffet, it was stocked with all sorts of breakfasty foods. My favorite dishes from the brunch were the Huevos rancheros, fried macaroni balls, ribs, and their chips and salsa station. They also had a quesadilla and omelette station where you can build your own. Aside from the mimosas, I ordered their frozen margarita. I've been to this place a few times for the night life which, does not disappoint and is highly entertaining. The decor is really cool. However, you have to wait in long lines for every floor. I get it, capacity but still it's annoying. Also every time I've been, it smells like barf everywhere which is why I have never dared to eat there. Go party, dance and be a wild drunk college person. I have never experienced this kind of racism before. My friends and I were kicked out when the security guy called the cops. The whole time there were groups of more than 10+ people walking around without masks. My friends and I were asked to leave and when we asked for 5 minutes to finish our drinks they called the cops on us. Unless your white, your experience is going to be shit here. The cops don't care that this establishment has people breaking the law. It was awful and after we paid for our bill we were thrown out. This happened to more groups that were people of color. My husband and I ate at Don Tito's tonight. They have really good happy hour deals, which we took advantage of tonight. Hubby had a Dos Equis for $4 and I had a strawberry Margarita for $6 ($1 more for the strawberry flavor). For dinner we had 9 tacos total (4 for me, 5 for him). I was definitely full after having 4 but if you're a guy with a good appetite, you may find you need to eat 5 or 6. Our favorite tacos, hands down, were the short rib tacos. All of the tacos were delicious and even though short rib tacos aren't on the happy hour menu, they are worth ordering regardless. Our only complaint was that the tacos we ordered off the happy hour menu came on flour tortillas versus soft corn tortillas. They are supposed to come on soft corn tortillas but we didn't realize that until after we ate them. They fell apart quickly on the flour tortillas. Clarendon needed this revival. After not heading into the area for a few years due to lackluster bars and a terrible college crowd, the same guys who brought Atown to the area brought this new concept in. It def revitalized the Clarendon nightlife and has pretty damn good food too. Also by far the best looking crowd in Arlington and a nice change of people compared to some of the other bars The tacos are always good and they have a wide variety. The all you can eat brunch really steps the place up for Sat and Sun afternoons as well. Happy Hour lasts until 8 and they have great food and beer specials. The margaritas are always on point as well. It has 3 floors with the bottom one mainly being a restaurant sitting area but the top 2 floors are where its at. The rooftop is the best in Arlington with great views. The staff at DT is always friendly, quick and outgoing and if youre in the area this place is a must see! read more

Prime real estate, I swear. ;) At that time there was a line to get to the rooftop. Which is definitely worth the wait. It was beautiful out and all we wanted to do was enjoy some drinks and the weather. The security guards do a very good job at controlling the crowd too so you aren't constantly bumping into people and hating life. They're also very kind and approachable. My friends went downstairs for a smoke and they were able to come back up with no problem. It is a non-smoking rooftop bar. Which is awesome. No girls like their hair smelling like cigs. Unless you're weird. The awesome stuff: -Drinks were made SO DAMN FAST. It took me longer to get a credit card out of my wallet than for the bartender to actually make my drink. You'd think the drinks were made sloppy and weak. But nope. Not at Don Tito's. Yummy, strong, and wanting me to chug it so I can have another. I'm not an alcoholic, I promise. The bartender on the rooftop was named Peter and was crackin jokes the entire time. He didn't let that happy hour rush come in between customer service. Gotta love it! First review in a long time, long time Yelp user. Reporting here that I received Clostridium Perfringens by eating here late at night on taco Tuesday. The Carne Asada tacos came out very quickly, and the temperature lukewarm. I normally spot this and send it back, but it was late and I was with friends. It's what happens to food when it is cooked, then cooled, and never reheated properly. Experiencing severe abdominal pain because of it. I came here for brunch with a bunch of friends and got the Benedict Carnitas. They were two large disc chips that was very meaty and had a perfectly poached egg on each chip. The potatoes that came with the two benedicts were very delicious. The whole meal together VERY delicious, and I would highly recommend this place for brunch. On another note, I also come here from time to time on Friday and Saturday nights and it is always a fun time here, but the downside is that it gets too crowded for comfort. read more

The location and rooftop of this place is great, and was with the previous owners Eventide. Now it's all that good stuff but also with delicious high end Mexican food. The lunch special had tacos, which I never order, but had to here. The choices were fried avocado, short rib, Baja fish, seared ahi tuna, etc. All cooked perfectly and tasty. The drinks and bar looked great, as did all the other entrees. My only complaint is the roof isn't even bigger but I guess they could pack them in there with standing for HH. I've only been to Don's for drinks and it's definitely one of the better bars in the Clarendon area. Their rooftop have a retractable awning which is nice when it's too sunny or raining. They also have string lights in the rooftop area which adds to the trendy yet rustic ambiance. Our bartender was quick even though he was manning one of the bars by himself. It was alright. The place itself is what earns them the three stars, and I would've done 3 and a half if I could on account of the food being decent. It's a three story kind of a thing, with the 3rd floor being an open rooftop. There's an elevator that leads to it if you would rather not take the stairs. The service was horrible tho, I understand it was Saturday night and it was busy, but damn, we had several servers do a roundabout taking our orders, and still none of it would come out neither on time or being correct. Must've asked for a set of silverware about 6 times before we actually got it. We were a party of 6, so regardless that the service sucked, the server came and told us that since there's 6 people, 20% gratuity is automatically calculated and added to our bill. Even tho we were paying separately. At that point I think, the server cared even less if he actually got our orders right or on time. And then at the very end when we were asking to pay our bills, he came to our table asking what we had. Like, he had no complete record of everything we had ordered.
