I tried this spot back in 2019 when I visited Vancouver, but never got the chance to write a review. It's a very hole in the wall spot, and there wasn't much of a wait when we got there. It was the first time I had ever tried a donair and it was SO good, hands-down my favorite meal of the trip. Stopped in for a quick lunch. 2 of us split the regular size Lebanese chicken Donair, which the owner marinated himself. (The beef and lamb options are standard factory Donair fare like everywhere else.) The regular size was plenty filling for both of us. Food was fresh, meat was moist, and nicely finished on the griddle. Customer service by the owner was friendly and it was great that he shared how he prepares his food. I found this location while searching for halal food when I was walking to Stanley Park. I had food from this location twice on my trip and the consistency was maintained. This here my friend was one of my best experience of donair kabab in Canada. The portion sizes were great. The plate came with plenty of tender juicy meat topped with garlic and hot sauce sided with rice, hummus, salad and pita bread. I had the mix plate and both the chicken and beef were cooked well and were tender. The person was friendly and the food didn't take much time at all. The seating area is very small, so you are better off taking away your food. Overall, good experience! P.S for my Muslim folks they serve Halal meat here. read more

All donairs come with their regular toppings which include lettuce, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, garlic sauce, tzatziki sauce and hot sauce. You are able to customize which regular toppings you don't want to include in your donair. Their menu offers donairs that come with additional toppings in addition to their regular toppings. Some additional topping options include a Greek donair with feta and olives, a Hawaiian donair with pineapple and sweet sauce as well as a Caribbean donair with tabouli and jalapeño pepper. The restaurant is fairly small so I would recommend getting your food to go. On busy days the wait may be a bit longer as the restaurant cannot handle high volumes of orders. Their donairs are extremely tasty and full of flavour. Be warned the donairs may be messy to eat, so be prepared to get your hands dirty. Have been here a few times over the years and in the past the donairs were quite tasty and stuffed full of toppings for what you pay, not to mention they used to put lettuce instead of cabbage. Recently went here again since Covid hit, had a chicken donair and to my surprise things were a lot different: - chicken had a yellow/orange coating and wierd tangy taste which just did not work for me - lots of cabbage chunks instead of lettuce... flavor and texture of this does not work in a donair - tzaziki tasted like store bought sauce - pita tasted super bready (2x pita shells, hardly toasted) The combination of all these elements just didn't work well together and made me lose appetite halfway through. I couldn't even finish it and for $10.50 there were also hardly any toppings inside. I read on Google reviews the shop is under new ownership so perhaps that's why the difference in product but whatever the case, will not be returning anymore. Sad really... used to like this place, but not dropping $10+ on a donair I can't even enjoy. read more

Not the absolute best chicken or beef but well seasoned and not over cooked meat plentifully draped over yellow rice with a good slather of hummous to compliment the fresh pita. Id have liked more salad on the side and bigger chunks of chicken, but we were probably the last customers and we were still Very satisfied. My Donair exposure is limited, but I know I like Shawarmas. They're almost the same thing, non? But hey, if it's tasty, it's tasty! And I think the Beef Donairs served at this nook is TASTY! I cannot confirm that Donair meats always come in sliced meatloaf form, but these certainly do! A delicious meatloaf it is. The Garlic and Tzatziki sauce complimented the seasoning in the meat perfectly! The people are friendly and the helping is definitely generous. What I really like about this place is the fair pricing. A regular Beef Donair costs $4.99. The "special" ones are $5.99. Chicken costs the same. Lamb is slightly more expensive - $6.99 for a regular and $7.99 for the "specials". It's a nice change from a Subway $5 foot long. I can confirm that this is pretty healthy too. So, eat up! There's a daily lunch special: $7.50 for Beef Donair, fries and soda. It's on everyday. I cannot speak for the fries. I'm glad I took a leap of faith and tried Donair Town because now, I have another lunch place in my neighbourhood! read more

Amazing food. Way to large for the average individuals appetite. Exactly how I like it. I still can't understand how they wrapped all of that inside a piece of bread. While I'm not an expert when it comes to Vancouver's many Donair shops, I am at least a very enthusiastic amateur. And for my donair dollar, this shop sells the best ones in town. We make our way to Vancouver 4-5 times a year, and always make a point of trying a Donair shop or two, mostly as a quick and inexpensive lunch, or a late-night "snack". I actually got hooked on this genre when I spent 4 weeks a year travelling in Germany for business. The Vancouver version is a little different (seems every corner of the world has it's own version), and initially I was not a huge fan, but I've become a convert. Donair Town, on the corner of Denman and Robson elevated my appreciation of Vancouver Donair, making me a true believer. My wife and I begain our Donair feast with an order of impossibly crisp french fries topped with a heavenly drizzle of house-made garlic sauce. I remarked that we were going to need to make room in our suitcases for the Styrofoam container, because I intended to live in it from now on, just to be close to the remnants of that sauce. Trust me, when the man asks if you'd like fries, you say yes. And then the main event. Chicken for me (mounds and mounds of it, beautifully seasoned, moist, smoky, magnificent), falafel for the wife (freshly made, fried in oil until perfectly crisp on the outside, pillowy and light on the inside, herbaceous, wonderful). Lebanese style. Hot sauce. Garlic sauce. Tabbouleh. Crisp veggies. Tears form in my eyes as I remember. Hands shake. Words fail. By far the best Donair in Vancouver. I use to go to donair town at SFU all the time and after when I lived in downtown I was happily surprised when I saw they opened up Donair Town right next door. We stopped by after a morning at Stanley Park. My bf's friend recommended trying donair while we were in Vancouver. We ended up sharing a large beef/chicken donair lebanese style. The girl taking our order was okay, she didn't seem interested in being there. But the man who was preparing the donairs was helpful, he chimed in and gave recommendations when we asked for them. He was super nice and helpful. The donair itself was good, it's unfortunate I haven't seen something like it in Los Angeles. My only thing was that it was very saucy (that's a personal preference or actually a dietary restriction, I usually have minimal to no sauce on my food). But my bf loved it. High ratings considering I haven't eaten here yet but a little birdie told me that unlike the donair spot down the block on the other side, this one makes their own sauces fresh, instead of pre-made and bought from cans, i suppose. but the main kicker is their chicken, is marinated by themselves; the beef 'block' is actually brought in elsewhere, which is the case for most of these donair places. Extra star b/c of its upstairs loft seating for some good view ;) nice there's metered parking even during rush hour. not cheap though lol read more

I get the plates with falafel and my hubs gets the donair, the sweet sauce is sensational. Gone here twice and always get the baddest, tastiest donairs ever. The proprietor is super friendly and helpful and they just pile on the ingredients. There are so many falafel/shawerma places in the West End, when Donair Town opened, I thought oh great another Shawerma spot, just what we need. I'm a real fan of Babylon Cafe, but one day I decided, what the hey lets try this new place. What I found, was something I really like. The wraps all taste good like any quality Donair spot, but here I enjoyed the ordering experience much better. They have a menu board of different styles of wraps. So, instead of having to tell the server over loud music, each and every ingredient I want or don't want, they have a menu of standard configurations. Such as the Lebanese, which if you order it you get all the usual ingredients, plus hummous and tabuli. You only have to choose which meat you want in it. This is so much nicer than having communication problems with the guy behind the counter. There's a little space to eat upstairs, not bad, but I would really call this a take-out. However, if I want a nice combo plate, I would definitely go to the Babylon. read more

One of the worst donair's i've eaten at in vancouver! The beef and the lamb were simply spam meat heated up and put in a pita sandwich. There was no distinct flavor whatsoever, everything was simply covered with sauce to mask the inedible taste of the meat. Definitely not recommended! read more
