I was having some serious issues with flooding in my backyard every time it rained. I needed a drain going from my backyard to the front of the house to alleviate this issue. What complicated the issue even more was there was a block wall installed and excess concrete was blocking the path of the line. I reached out through yelp and the only person that responded to me was Donaldo. He came over and he stated that he would have to drill out the excess concrete to be able to lay the drain pipe. Donaldo and his crew worked tirelessly to get it done. Donaldo was meticulously with his work and in the end I was satisfied with his results. I now no longer have to worry about the rain. We had a pretty basic landscaping project in mind, but the current yard was an absolute mess. We needed the existing turf removed, the ground tilled and leveled, new sod with a rock barrier installed as well as a whole new sprinkler system installed in the backyard and a leaky spigot repaired. This guy has been my Gardner for years and the quality has gone down hill tremendous. Yesterday his crew had rental equipment and broke all three of our drivers side windows and is claming this was due to an attempted break in between the hrs of 3 to 4pm while children were playing and people walking in our culdisac. We have video evidence of them being the last people on our property and are unwilling to assist with the damaged cause. So be aware. I had a huge irrigation mess. Most of my sprinklers were broke and I also had a broken valve. To be frank, I didn't even know I had sprinklers in the middle of the back yard (they were buried in about 1ft of dirt). We just moved into our new house and the lady let the palm trees get out of control. We needed them fixed quick since the pool was getting filled with debris. We got several quotes from other places through Yelp. We went with Donaldo because he was the cheapest and had great reviews. He did a great job and even cleaned the debris that fell into the pool. It was him and another guy cleaning up our trees. One looks a little wonky, which is why I gave 1 star. But he really did a great job. We got a quote on Friday and he was ready to do it on Saturday. Very convenient for people who work during the week. I'd highly recommend him for your project. Price was very reasonable. One place quoted us $1500 and Donaldo only charged us $400. Donaldo was very responsive from the start. He gave me a fair quote and I liked him and his partner Jorge, so we hired him. We had him tear everything out, front and back including two medium sized mulberry trees. He leveled the yards, hauled off tons of dirt and weeds, tore up old concrete, it was tough work. I even threw a couple of 36" olive trees at him on the last day and he gave me a fair price and him and his guys planted them, no complaints. Terrible communication and business practices. I was told a free estimate and a day and time to come out 4-5pm. At 5:15 I text asking if he was still coming, he called me 10 min later to say he'd be there in an hour. He showed up at 7pm, over 45 min late, again, without communicating at all to me that he'd be late... again. I was desperate for help which is why I didn't turn him away when he came. He then told me it's just his culture to be late, as if that was a valid excuse for poor business practice. He worked on the timer without giving me an estimate. He kept telling me the reason why it wasn't working is because of the timer (I bought it brand new that day, and had tried timers of other brands that were also giving me issues). After borrowing my tools, a headlight (he came so late it was dark) he finally got it to work. (Clearly not a timer issue). I wasn't pleased with what he wanted to charge me once the work was done. Upon paying him I asked if he would come back if the timer stopped working. He said he would. A couple of weeks later it stopped working and because of a vacation I contacted him a month after he initially came to my house. He said that he didn't guarantee the job because he "didn't install the timer" and that I needed a new timer and we could work something out, which was not what he told me when he was at my house. I literally mounted it to the wall and he re-installed every single wire when he was here. This was a waste of money and time. I'm back to where I started before I hired him.
