Great service. Drinks and food were delicious. I had the coconut shrimp appetizer and bowl of the best clam chowder ever! Big chunks of potatoes and clams in every bite. Shrimp was delicious too. Husband had fettuccine Alfredo...SO GOOD! Everything was fresh tasting. He had tomato soup. A warning on that if you don't like chunks of tomato's or onion like my hubby. But flavor was good. The atmosphere is outstanding. Very charming interior-fireplace, garage doors, comfy furniture and photos of the past. Our server was an older lady, and wasn't quite on top of things, but friendly enough. We sat by the fireplace and the owner came to talk to us. Very nice guy and shared some must see sites while we were in town. Food was good-not great. Bourbon Demi glaze was so strong-tasted just like bourbon. Salted Caramel Pudding wasn't edible. I think it was old so it was more of a jello texture. Overall we enjoyed our experience and would return. read more

Donivans is a wonderfully historical downtown restaurant in the wee little town of Anaconda. You'll enjoy the pictures on the wall of the city heritage that brought prosperity to the area, the copper ceiling and authentic woodwork is gorgeous. On a recommendation by my AirBnB hostess she said this was her favorite place in town so had to take her advice and give it a try. The place is a really old building with a restaurant and a bar/casino side. Pretty cool interior and I decided to belly up to the bar. The drink menu was interesting and the many draft beers were as well. Settled on their version of a old fashioned and it was made quite well. I couldn't decide between the spinach and grilled shrimp salad, the grilled cod fish tacos or the veal cutlet. I went with the veal on the recommendation of the friendly young man behind the bar. I added onion rings which were very good along with a homemade ranch. The veal was cool too like warm and I was expecting a single piece of pounded out meat. It was a processed ground up veal burger that needed extra salt which is not normal for me to add to food at all. Other than that I finished the meal and added a perfect Manhattan which was delightful as well for dessert. Sat at the bar this night as usual and the locals chatted me up and made me feel welcome to this small town. Would recommend sitting at the bar and interacting with the local residents. read more

This place is closed in the middle of the week I ended up having to settle for an over priced fatty steak at the new Barclays II... wasn't happy about it at all ... good thing it came with a bowl of spaghetti and ravioli on the side or my gf and me would have starved to death. This was really good. I just walked over for lunch. I had a cup of chowder and a chicken sandwich. Yummy. Chicken was perfectly grilled and the bread wasnt overwhelming and nice and soft. This place is fantastic. The food is great, and the decor is amazing. It is in Anaconda, Montana, a bit off the beaten path, but if you are on I 90, it is worth the 10 minute trip into town for a real slice of Montana. The restaurant and bar are completely remodeled, and have pictures of the old Anaconda mine, the bar has an actual copper bucket from the mine. This place is really a must see for visitors to Montana. And the food is good, great prices, the beer is cold. read more

Top notch unique ambiance. Lots of local flair. Cool furniture made out of old mining parts. This place would be great just for ambiance, but the wait staff goes out of their way AND the food is great! We loved it so much our group of 10 came for breakfast and dinner. Burger was one of the best EVER. Street tacos were great. Scallops were cooked to perfection. I'd say dinner fair was even better than breakfast food. read more

Great customer service! The servers and bartenders are very nice & welcoming. The food is okay. It depends on what you order. The nachos are really good. The burger is also good. I was very disappointed with their tacos. They give you tiny pieces of meat or fish and extra extra cabbage. It feels like a cabbage taco. The tomato soup was tasty but disappointed with their calm chowder. I have yet to try their steak. Maybe next time. read more

So I live in Tacoma wa and was in Montana for a dart tournament and we stop in here for dinner. I was impressed with everything It felt like I was at a nice steak house at home but for half the price the food was great and the steak was cooked perfectly. We wanted to go back the next day just to try other things on the menu. I can't wait to eat here again when we go back for the next dart tournament or if I'm driving threw I will I have to stop and grab a great meal. read more

Worst dining experience ever. We have traveled all over the US and to over 30 countries and this was the worse ever. We waited forever for a server. Finally got water and a beer. We ordered and 45 minutes later we got my cheese burger (bad taste; very bland) and my wife got her lame Buffalo Chicken Salad (popcorn chicken and no flavor). A different server noticed my beer was empty and brought me another. Never saw our 1st server again. Left a meager tip. We would not recommend eating here. read more

Great find in Anaconda. Met every expectation for a couple of Portland foodies. Excellent place to kick back and relax. The bar area had a great pub atmosphere complete with the enormous gas fireplace. Nice selection of local Montana beers on tap. So much to choose from on the menu. I went for a BBQ burger and my wife a salad. Really hit the spot after a 12 hour drive from Oregon. Super friendly staff with a special shout out to Shayla and Tim. read more

I love this restaurant but it is a hit or miss sometimes with the kitchen, the bar is awesome but I wouldn't recommend eating on the bar side if you want your food to be hot all the staff are very friendly on a better note, The house soup is flawless and I love their Kearny Asada street tacos and eggs Benedict anything breakfast is good there. read more

This place was Amazing! Tourist looking for a place to eat and we stumbled onto this place and the atmosphere here was incredible. We walked in and got a table right away and our server Tim made our whole night! He had us laughing so hard and kept the drinks coming. The food was 100/10! Being a picky eater I was a little worried but Tim suggested a pasta dish with shrimp and OH MY GOSH!!!!! AMAZING!!! The shrimp was beyond tasty and pasta was phenomenal! I honestly think zero stars should be an option. I know staffing is short but this was by far the worst restaurant experience I have had in a long time. We waited over 45 minutes and no over came to our table. I went to the bar, asked for a drink and waters. They said they would bring us pitchers and glasses but never did. If you are so short staffed you can't serve all your tables, you should close them down so people don't sit in them. Don't just bluntly ignore customers until they finally leave. As someone who manages in the customer service world, these were absolute garbage employees. read more

Impressive antiqued looking interior but definitely not worth the wait or the price. To start, our iced teas both came out in soapy cups so we had to ask for new drinks. Hoping this wasn't indicative of the food quality, we ordered the shrimp skewer dinner and the street taco dinner. We then waited nearly 1 hour and 40 minutes to get our order while guests at two tables within view of our table came in, sat down, ordered and got their meals before our meals arrived. After asking for our drink bill so we could go elsewhere, our waiter went back to the kitchen and brought out our meals. Long story short, although we'll never get these last 2.5 hours and ~$40 back, we have learned where not to go... If our family is ever in Ananconda again, we will not be back to Donovan's. read more

I do not give restaurants 5 Stars very often. This was my first trip to Montana first trip to Anaconda and first trip to Donivan's. I was blown away at how cool this place is. I wanted to have breakfast for lunch so I did. I consider myself an eggs Benedict's snob too. I would rate the eggs Benedict in a top-five that I've had in the world. I'm comparing this eggs benedict to some of the famous restaurants in New Orleans and in New York. I hope I have the opportunity to come back to Anaconda. This is a must stop. Donivan's is a little pearl of a restaurant/bar. It has a Montana crowd-pleasing menu of well-prepared fare. There are a few surprises here and there, but sometimes you want good predictable food. I have never been disappointed, and have enjoyed every meal. The bar is well stocked and well staffed (I despise having to tell a bartender how to make a drink, it's a peeve of mine) they bring me the perfect quaff every time. Tonight is was a hot toddy, and my husbands Irish coffee (there's a blizzard outside). This would not be complete without talking about the decor, it is warm and cozy, decorated in anaconda smelter history ( pictures and fixtures). In a larger city this would be the preferred high-end business meal meeting choice, or happy hour hang-out. You may ask, why not a 5,? It can be a little loud, the food is not filled with choices only available here. read more

Last night was the last time the majority of the Strommen family will ever step foot into Donivans again. Paying $38 for a VERY well done steak that was brought back to the kitchen and NEVER made it back to the table is unacceptable (I ordered the steak medium and my fork would not go through the steak it was so over cooked). The vegetables on all the plates were cold and the ONLY thing that I ate was the baked potato. Others at the table had problems as well. Under cooked coconut shrimp, over cooked cold bacon on a BLT, cold gravy and a very sad small looking Caesar salad for the price. All of this was nicely brought to the attention of the kitchen manager and he understood and agreed with all of the complaints, he was also very apologetic. The owner however had a MAJOR attitude when we asked and talked about the steak still being on the ticket. We paid the entire bill but we will never support the restaurant/bar again. We love the front staff and thank you to all the servers and bartenders for doing amazing and trying to stick it out there. I will never recommend going into Donivans again. read more

We waited for over an hour for our food that was wrong and cold.... had to go to the bar to get a refill for drinks and water and when we asked for a condiment we were question why? The server dropped our silverware on the table and left.... I dont have much else to say but I hope it gets better with the quality of food and definaltey the service from the staff. read more

Came in, waited to be seated at the sign, two kitchen employees and a server were standing by the kitchen, the server looked at us then turned around and continued to keep talking to the other employees. After waiting for a few minutes with no acknowledgement we then decided to try to use the self seating in the bar. We sat at a bar table once again for a few minutes with no acknowledgement from the bartender or the server who hugged a customer at the bar next to us (looked right at us and went to the kitchen)......
