I had a sewer line inspection done in September 2025 on my mother's home after she passed away. It was given a clean bill of health. No worries! Yeah, well...We had lots of renovations to do and it wasn't being used regularly, had no issues at that time. Fast forward to now- July 2026 - my family of 4 has been living in the house for exactly 2 weeks and we've experienced backing up and clogging. Right before the sewer line connects to the city is where the issue is- this is going to cost around $6k to fix. This would have been VERY good to know before I negotiated the cost of buying my sister out of her part of the house and BEFORE we moved in. I reviewed the inspection video. The camera was pulled so rapidly through the line that this very crucial part of the pipe was not obvious/noticed. I contacted Donley through email on Monday morning looking for some sort of explanation as to why it was missed- no call back. I called them on Tuesday about 12pm after not hearing anything. Got a call back from a hotheaded man named Steve who was confrontational and ready to fight from the moment we started talking. "I don't see it, we didn't miss anything, don't know what you're talking about"- is basically how it went- Extremely defensive and unnecessary. He just acted as though it wasn't present during the inspection and it wasn't their problem. It was there. This didn't just happen. It was missed. I liked the guy fine that performed the inspection, but he blew that camera through everything too quickly. Isn't that what an inspection is? Finding things that aren't obvious? Simple as that. Only thing Steve did was guarantee that I will leave reviews on every platform I can. He needs to CALM down and not attack a homeowner who is trying to find out what happened. read more

We purchased these fixtures!! Instead of getting quotes she called her "reliable plumber". Donley charged her $685 for a 45-minute installation! It is evident they took advantage of her mental state they should be utterly ashamed of themselves!! That money could have been used for cancer medication. My wife discovered a water stain on the lower part of the wall behind the toilet in our master bathroom. At 7:53 AM I called Donley AC & Plumbing to arrange for a plumber to investigate. I was put on the schedule immediately and at 9:09 AM I received a call from Dan telling me he'd been assigned to my case and would arrive within 20-30 min. He arrived about 18 min later. Dan took a look at the wall and suggested that it was probably either of two situations. He provided a price estimate for the issue he felt more strongly it would be which I approved. He proceeded to remove the toilet, confirmed that it indeed was the issue he suspected, proceeded with the repair and was done well before 11:00 AM. Dan was efficient, pleasant and informative as are the other technicians I've had experience with at Donley. I'll wait a day or two for the baseboard to fully dry out. I'll then do the little bit of touch up painting needed and the repair will be fully complete with no evidence any problem existed. Overall, a great experience. Thanks Donley and Dan!! read more

Ricardo came out and replaced the water heater today. Did a great job especially because the old and new unit had to come through the house to get to the laundry room on the patio. I have been a long time customer of Donley's and had to also replace the AC unit in April--which is no small feat in a townhouse complex. One of the Donley staff said it was the biggest crane they had seen that was used to lift the unit onto the roof. Anyway-Donley has always treated me well and provided great service. read more

On June 22nd 2024 my air went out in the late evening. Sunday Michael came and he worked until 9 PM but needed a motor. During this time I had been talking to a lady from the company called Jessica and she was absolutely wonderful. I wish all employees were as kind and helpful as she was. Have been pleased with Donley service in the past and have had 2 of their AC units over the years. But..... This morning thermostat didn't appear to be working and they were able to send someone out to check it in the afternoon. i appreciate the promptness. The technician, who was accompanied by a second guy (trainee?), verified the thermostat was bad in 5 minutes. I asked for a quote to install a basic thermostats (not programmable or any fancy features) and was quoted over $400 for the unit and installation. When I asked for a breakdown of cost. of unit and installation, he said he couldn't do that it's a package deal. And cost of the service call could not be applied to the $400+. So, we paid the service fee for the 20 minute visit and bought a basic thermostat and installed it ourselves In under an hour. Easy job. i was surprised at the approx $450 quote, especially after I saw online that the cost of the thermostat they were going to install was under $50. I know businesses have to pay for their expenses, etc. but is charging around $400 for 2 guys to visit to install a simple thermostat the norm? as a long term customer this left me with a negative impression of Donley. read more

I have tried for weeks to get a response from Donley Plumbing. Two weeks a tech came to our new house to help move a water softener from our old house. Oh by the way we have spend thousands on a/c and other needs over the last twenty years...so we are not a new customers. When I got the quote I called and email back to the tech and Donnelly to break it out...nothing. Called twice more and finally the tech called and and said he did not get the email...not really my fault. He asked the questions and I said I did not have time and to get it from the email and he said he would do it that day. Now four days later nothing. Recently we were not getting hot water from our Rheem Tankless Water Heater. Both Josh and Ricardo came upon appointment. Josh and I tried a new part, and a few calls to Rheem Service, which kept forwarding diagrams-no dialogue to talk us through the problem. Josh was determined. Ricardo S. came and tested the heat exchanges for volts and ohms, finding malfunctions on the heat exchangers. I decided to purchase another unit. When it came to installing it the next day he was very meticulous in his soldering with his preparation and checking for leaks. He had all the necessary junctions that were necessary to join the water lines. Also, he was very careful when former connections needed heat to loosen them such that the wall wasn't damaged. He cleaned up the work area when done, and best of all.....hot water! read more

We have used Donley Service Center for many years. In that time period we have purchased 4 AC/Heater units between our 2 homes and maintained service contracts for the 2 homes. The technicians are honest, polite and knowledgeable as are the customer service reps. Our reason for this poor rating has to do with their business model of delegating the dual role of both service and sales to their technicians. They must also retrieve the part. It typically works but there is a glaring fault in their business model when the service technician falls ill, perhaps for more than a few days. Here is the basis for this rating. We scheduled routine service on the units in our primary home. The day came for the service, a Friday, at which time we were informed that the technician had called in sick and that another technician would be out the following day. That was fine with us. A technician arrived on time on Saturday. After performing service on one unit, we were advised that the motor on the heating unit was faulty and would need to be replaced. The heating unit would be out of service. It was still under warranty and our only cost would be the labor to install. Unfortunately, since it was a Saturday, the technician could not order a new motor until the following Monday. Monday came and went without any follow-up from Donley. We had to call them on Tuesday to receive a status update. We were told that this technician was now sick and would probably be out for the rest of the week. After explaining our predicament, the customer service rep stated that someone would need to contact the tech to receive a status update from him. We voiced our displeasure to the customer service rep about this news and asked why a supervisor or manager had not stepped in on Monday morning to determine what needed to be done in order to cover any critical pending work, like ordering a crucial part, that the tech had not been able to perform due to his illness. The rep simply apologized. Wednesday arrives and a text message is received late in the day notifying us that we could expect service on Thursday morning, but I had to call in to find out the service window time. On Thursday morning, we received a call from customer service advising us that the part has to be ordered from California and that the ETA was approximately one week out to simply receive the part. We called Donley soon afterwards on Thursday and asked to speak with a supervisor who listened and took notes. She promised to take this issue to senior management and told us to expect a reply. Over 30 hours later, nothing but the sound of crickets. Supply chain issues have been a reality for several years now and we understand. However, why did we have to take the lead in getting Donley to look into this matter? Had we not called to receive a status update, the part in question may not have been ordered until the return of the sick service technician. This is not the first time that we have had issues with Donley. The previous issue dealt with much delayed service for a confirmed appointment. One of us had to take time off from work twice for that service call. Unfortunately for all of us is the fact that businesses seem to be providing a lesser quality of service by understaffing and having their employees do more in order to maintain profits. We request a specific tech, Dan, because of his patience in completing the task, attention to detail and overall skill in performing the plumbing work. Not to long ago Dan repaired the main water pipe faucet to our house, after my husband was unable to complete it. I am only giving 1 star because 0 stars is not an option the service was so horrible. We have used Donley to service plumbing emergencies at our rentals for about 10 years. Though prices have gone up recently ($650 to scope a main line), we didn't have any customer service issues until today. Unfortunately, it was such extreme rudeness and lack customer service, we will never do business with Donley Plumbing again. I called due to a plumbing emergency at a rental. After having to make 2 calls to the on-call dispatcher, someone called me back trying to push the service to next week. I explained again, it was an emergency and couldn't wait. I was told it would cost more, but the tech could be out in an hour or two to service. (I understand off hours service costs more. I can't control when things break.) 2 hours later, an extremely rude technician, Walter, called and informed me his tools were broken and he could come out and look at it, but he wouldn't service the emergency. This would incur the off hours service fee, but he wasn't going to fix the issue. In further conversation, he ultimately just didn't want to take the call because the drive was too far. We told him we were going inform the company of his poor service. He said he was the supervisor and it didn't matter. We will not do business with Donley in the future. If you have a plumbing emergency, I would recommend calling a company with technicians that want to work. Donley wasted over 3 hours of our time today, delaying the ability to triage the plumbing emergency because they were too lazy to come look at the issue. I could have had the issue resolved today if they were just honest and said they didn't want my business when I initially called. I can understand if Donley couldn't fit in the emergency service, just say so on the initial call. It's unreasonable to waste 3 hours in an emergency situation, then say you don't want to service the call. Since Walter is the supervisor and there's no escalation option, posting to save others the hassle. read more

We had our A/C units installed a couple of years ago by this company. I was impressed with them then, but was not a Yelper at that time. Had the units serviced today and was even more impressed The people I deal with whether on the phone or in person are so nice. Jerry today fixed the unit He went out of his way to solve the issue. I have experienced other companies that do a quick fix without trying to get to the bottom of the issue. Jerry was super nice and extremely knowledgeable in what he was doing. Our air was not working when we got home Saturday afternoon. It was cooling off so no great concern. Called and spoke with Dana Sunday morning (very sweet and efficient). She had a repair person at my house by 8:30am. The repairman had the air going in less than 30 minutes, yay. But the biggest surprise was he said it was a burned wire that they had installed and there would be no charge! Wow! Great service and honesty. You don't see this every day. :) read more

While I was in the midst of a full fledged panic attack, my sister researched and found that it shouldn't be more than $5K. I got a callback from the 2nd pro that I'd left a message for, Everhart Plumbing, and he quoted me $3500 for pipe replacement, plus he changed the head on the outside spigot and added a back-flow valve that was missing for free! I'm so impressed with his work and honesty that I've hired him to install a water filtration system and to replace my kitchen faucet. Really, Donley, $20,000? Price gouging at its best! read more

Called Donley on a Sunday morning after the other guys that's hard to spell blew us off on a day that was 112. When I called they gave me a window of when the tech would be here to preform a diagnostic. Our tech Enes arrived on time. He checked several things and found out it was only a wire that wasn't making contact. The unit had been serviced last year by another company. I can't say for sure but it looked a little fishy. The unit would work but not blow. The other company probably would have come back and told us we needed a blower motor. Enes fixed the thermostat wire, waited to make sure the unit would start to cool before cleaning up and being on his way. A company not as trustworthy as Donley, or Enes could have taken us to the cleaners instead of only charging for a service call. I will use them again for any HVAC needs and highly recommend them and Enes to all of my family and friends. read more

Example: we were told that our water pressure was too high (91 lbs) and needed a new main water pressure valve. Donley quoted price: $1100. Bids from two other plumbers for same repair = $500 - $550. Another example from Donley. Asked price to repair a mechanism inside toilet tank. $92 from Donley repair tech. Went to Home Depot and bought the parts and after 25 min had the repair made. I recently moved from San Antonio, Tx to Phoenix. I have a 3 year old rental house here and had 2 slow leaks in a bathroom sink and shower. I was surprised I could schedule a plumber to come the next day from Donley's. I was shocked when the plumber quoted a price of $750! I could get a plumber in San Antonio to do the same work for less than $150. I told the plumber I didn't get off the turnip truck last week, maybe last month and did not need his service. The plumber was rude and left the house. I went to Ace Hardware and paid $6 for the Delta sink cartridge and $44 for the shower cartridge and installed it myself. I am in the wrong business! I called back to Donley's to ask the owner or manager to call me. Never received a call. What a rip off to get raped for $750 for a 30 minute job! read more

We used Donley for the first time yesterday to repair our furnace, and we are tremendously pleased. We had initially heard about Donley in a glowing newspaper article published in the Arizona Republic a few years ago. I saved their name for when we needed a repair company. They came out the same day we called them, diagnosed the problem quickly, and fixed it for a very reasonable price. I was also given information about a plumbing issue I mentioned, and info about our aging a/c units. No attempt was made to sell us anything - and the technician was polite and very punctual. I want our service providers to make money so they stay in business and will be there the next time we need them. However, many of us have been taken advantage of by less scrupulous service companies in the past, and are therefore cautious when using a new company. We will certainly make Donley our go-to company for all furnace, a/c and plumbing needs, and based upon their service yesterday, I can recommend them. Thanks guys!
