The only negatives I found with them was they have a very small roster of homes on Donner with a private pier (probably just means very few owners rent their homes out) and the rental office could be a bit more organized with their processes. Aside from that, would rent again, especially if they get a few more house options with private piers to choose from!

Unfortunately, while you can get access to the golf course (must contact TSP in advance to set this up and extra costs incurred) you cannot access any of the other amenities. This may not be important to you, but as a family with two young kids, there was a lot of disappointment about being 20+ minutes away from any swimming options in the June heat. We tried to contact TSP to remedy this, but were told there was no solution and our fault for assuming that golf access meant access to golf clubhouse (along with activities listed that included "swimming" for the property). It does appear that they have made the lack of included amenities more clear on the listing now, so for that I am grateful to have improved the experience for any future families looking for a good summer spot for kids -- would look elsewhere. The house itself is decently maintained, kitchen is well stocked for a rental (no basics like sugar, butter, oil etc.), the beds were comfortable, ample space. The layout is a little weird with two bedrooms on ground floor and the master off the kitchen. Although the house backs up to the golf course, there is no access to the course from the house (except through bushes) so there was very little outdoor space for kids to run around. We had an issue with the front door that TSP responded to quickly.

I even caught one group of Mexican cleaners putting sheets just in dryer and not even washing them! That's when I started doing all the laundry myself! Unfortunately, some circumstances in my life caused me to not be able to actively manage the rental as I use to. I was in dire need of people who could do more, get the job done, and communicate with me and let me know they hear me when I communicate with them. Finding Vacation rental assistance was a complete miracle for me. Not only are they on top of the cleaning, (and all linens are provided by them and taken off sight for professional laundering) but many smaller maintenance issues as well and making sure the hot tub is cleaned and serviced between every set of guests. Their pricing is extremely fair, and I believe they earn it by keeping me informed of anything needed so I'm consistently receiving 5 star reviews from my guests. Which results in more bookings! I get pictures of any issues noticed after a guest leaves, which takes away a lot of stress! When they heard my beloved dog died, I even received flowers and a card. That's special. The professionalism via pre and post inspection reports, and ability to have a 24 hour on call handy man if you choose really makes owning a vacation rental much less stressful. Thanks to VRA I'm able to focus on my own healing and do more of giving back to my community. They are the most thorough, polite, professional, fair, people I've met in this industry, and I'm really so grateful for their whole team from the top down.

There should be a good faith effort to make things fair for all renters. The unfairness of what happened to us was very disappointing -- renter beware. The timeline is as follows: the reservation was booked on January 31 and my son cancelled on February 21 -- not March 12 as stated. The stay is still several months away. We contacted Airbnb and they are currently reaching out to the host to review the situation. Unfortunately, my son was also blocked from contacting the host after the cancellation, which made it difficult to discuss any possible solutions directly. Our intention in leaving a review was simply to share our experience so others are aware of the cancellation policy before booking. The host also claimed that I threatened to write a review, which is not true -- I only wanted to let people know about the unfairness of this business practice.

I called this host at least 5x before getting anyone, only to be told that the price was incorrect so I should cancel and rebook. When I asked to speak to the manager to try to resolve the issue, he denied responsibility and directed me back to VRBO. Further, he accused me of trying to take advantage of the wrong price. Accusing the customer is never a great idea, especially when she is doing due diligence on a reservation. I responded that I wasn't asking for the listed price but what he could do to help me. Still, he refused to apologize or suggest a solution other than talk to VRBO. Fernando was very rude, and unhelpful. Now I'm waiting to see if he cancels my reservation. Don't go here unless you want to support a business who really doesn't care about your satisfaction as the paying customer.

Our experience was very mixed…read more This was a last minute booking. I made a mistake and booked it for a night earlier than needed. I realized this an hour later, contacted the management company immediately and they would not issue a refund, but did move our reservation to the correct date, so that worked out. The location itself is great. It's right on the lake of Donner Pass Rd, which isn't nearly as busy as in town (this was a summer stay by the way). The room wasn't great though. The walls are *paper thin* We could literally hear every word of the conversation the couple in the next room were having. Whenever they took a shower it sounded like a plane taking off. Thankfully everyone respected the quiet hours. There was also no AC. On top of this, the ceiling fan was on the same light switch as a light over the sink, so I had to climb on a chair and unscrew the lightbulb so we could sleep with the fan on. This place was about $40-50 less per night compared to staying in the Best Western. Although the location was nice, I'll probably look elsewhere next time. Truckee in general has become a very expensive place to stay.
