Unfortunately, this was a really frustrating experience. I first rented a car from the Varner location in Palm Desert, and the vehicle was extremely dirty on the inside and clearly not sanitized. Because of my work schedule, I couldn't switch it out right away, but I would have if I could. A few days later, I went to the location on Highway 111 to exchange the car. The staff there seemed overwhelmed and honestly pretty annoyed with customers, which didn't help the situation. They did give me another car, but instead of handling it professionally, it felt careless. After I mentioned my concerns, they cleaned it so aggressively that they handed it to me completely soaked on the outside, with all the windows still wet, almost like they wanted to make sure I noticed. I was already irritated at that point and just left. Enterprise had a chance to make things right and didn't. Overall, the experience showed a lack of care and basic standards. She seems to enjoy treating customers poorly and flat-out refused service with a "don't have to rent to you" attitude. Enterprise's follow-up is equally bad; you get stuck in a loop of automated messages with no actual resolution. After years of renting from Enterprise, I'm done. Maria Borbon-Gonzalez is a snarky, obese, unattractive, miserable person who thinks she can treat paying customers like dirt. Big question as to why she is still employed as there are many complaints about her on yelp. Grl, u r stuck here in 120 degree heat, that is your future & completely unhireable. I've done 4 rental experiences from this Enterprise since March. The staff here are always amazing. Shout out to the guy with a full Head of curly longer length hair (Nate? Nick?) I wish i remembered their names. My first time here I was helped by a younger woman in a bun and she was the kindest. There was also a really kind African American gentleman. They've always been at this specific branch I've never had a bad experience. I don't understand the negative reviews. Yes, there will be a wait times sometimes due to the branch being super busy and sometimes, they have limited inventory due to the amount of vehicles going in & out. But that's not their fault. Customer will extend and shorten based on their needs so their inventory fluctuates by the minute. This is a resort town after all. This is the worst car rental experience of my life. Shame on Enterprise. I booked a car to be picked up at 2:00pm on 2/2/26. When I arrived a man was yelling at them about his car not being ready. As I checked in everything was fine. I was told to sit down and wait. As I waited a different man was complaining about his wait for a car. I just sat there waiting. At 3:00 I went outside and asked Maria Borbon-Gonzalez where is my car. She told me it was not ready. I informed her my car was to be ready at 2:00pm. She informed me it will be an extra hour or hour in a half. I asked her why they did not have the common decency and respect for their customers to call me earlier to inform me of the delay. Her answer " we are to busy". I then asked what her remedy was for the situation. Answer " just sit and wait". It then became obvious they had no car. I asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the manager. Maria Borbon- Gonzalez is allegedly the "assistant manager". I then said she was incompetent and of no help. At that time she said "I am not renting you a car". That she clearly did not have. I was then left on the sidewalk no car, that I rented for a month. Plus an Uber ride back to my hotel. I have been renting cars for over 50 years and have never been treated with such disrespect and incompetence. HOW DO YOU GIVE A ZERO RATING: Janet Omos was Manager at Eastvale local office. I rented a vehicle with her. Enterprise practice that clients need a rental car that they can TRUST, and that they PROMISE TO PUT CLIENTS FIRST. I rented a vehicle from the Eastvale Enterprise ( Claim #20206432) on 10/02/23. When I rented the car, I was CONFIDENT that I was working with a REPUTABLE service. I PURCHASED THE WAIVER INSURANCE. I returned the car, and it was INSPECTED UPON RETURN BY JANET OMOS. JANET, verified that the car was undamaged and returned as I rented it. Months later, I received a letter stating that returned the car with a signed statement by Janet Omos, who have now been promoted to Branch Manager of the Palm Desert location. Janet's statement was that I acknowledged, signed and certified that the REAR BUMPER WAS CRACKED, AND REAR BUMPER SENSOR IS MISSING. This is a FALSE & UNWARRANTED statement!. This REPRESENTATIVE falsified documents and is NOW USING MY WAIVER as a resource to get this vehicle repaired. What she didn't realize is that I have SUPPORTING TIME DATED STAMPED PHOTOS of when I returned this car. So it gets worse. I called Eastvale, and Tammy says that she was promoted to Branch Manager of Palm Desert. I called, and the Assist. Branch Manager Anthony attempted to assist me. I explained that it involved questions directly to ask Janet. After waiting, introduced myself and explained that I was a client from Eastvale. First, she claimed to never have worked for the body shop that the Enterprise is located and then after correcting and reconfirming that she was the same person promoted from Eastvale, she then confirmed that she was in fact that person. When asked about a car rental that WAIVER was signed due to insurance purchase, and claim was submitted for 10/02/23, she then expressed that she was so busy currently at her location that she had no time to speak at this time. I expressed to her calmly that I had questions and concerns regarding this fraudulent claim and she insisted that she could not speak to me and was too overly busy to assist me and YEP... SHE HUNG UP in my face. She didn't take my name or #. I returned the call, waited again - Anthony picked up again and told me that Vivian Tran is the area Manager for this area and that Athziri Soto (from Tammy) was the Area Manager for Eastvale and that he would be unable to provide any contact information, referred me to their common customer service #. I insisted on speaking directly to area management and he stated he would text them to call me. So then I said, "Well Anthony, how will they call me because you have never taken my name or #". Okay, let's see if I get a returned call. I want to OFFICIALLY state and PROVE, that this claim will NOT fall under my contract for the repairs needed and this would be a CROOKED practice to file claims to keep ENTERPRISES CARS IN GOOD CONDITION by submitting claims under those who rent the vehicles and use their insurance unbeknownst to the client. First, let me say, the staff here are very nice. The problem is management and general management. This is one of the worst run enterprise Rent-A-Car locations I have ever experienced. It is almost alwaysunder staffed. Because of this problem, I have waited for more than a half an hour to get a car multiple times. This is unacceptable. People are obviously renting cars because they need to get places and get to places on time. This is my fourth experience renting from enterprise Palm Desert that I am now late to an appointment because of their lack of service. Today I waited 50 minutes until I was called to get my car. My father recently passed away and today I have a mortuary appointment that I am now going to be 20 minutes late for. Totally Un-Enterprise experience -- Employee with EXTREME passive aggression towards customers. Employee Zoe checked me in. She told me to wait for the car. After 20 minutes of waiting, no one talked to me about any progress. Both employees were sitting at their desks. I got up and asked for the status. Another employee Anthony Child approached me and offered me another car at an additional price. I agreed. He took me to the vehicle. I asked him why they didn't offer me the car in the first place. He did not reply. I have an important appointment I needed to attend. I told him that I would leave a bad review on the feedback email. He started purposely slowing down the checkout process by asking me all kinds of questions that other employees normally never asked before. In the end, he asked me to take out my credit card to verify my payment. This is when I lost my cool and raised my voice out of frustration. I told him that Zoe already verified it. They also have it on file. Normally, they just asked me for the last 4 digits of the card. These are just unnecessary processes that were aimed to make me miss my appointment. I gave him my credit card. I asked him to do his job and finish the checkout process. He suddenly said he was not going to rent the car to me. I couldn't believe it. He took me through the entire prolonged process and terminated my rental contract at the very end???!!! He refused to hand me back my credit card and the key. At this time, his manager Tony Carrillo stepped in. Tony asked me what happened. I explained to him. He listened to my frustration and I said I just need the car to go to my appointment. This is when things got weird. Tony said his job is trying to de-escalate the problem. So he decided he is going to refuse to rent me the car. He said I was making a scene. I told him I was frustrated and the easiest way to de-escalate is to give me the key and my credit card so I can go to my appointment. He refused. He offered to take me home and naturally I missed the appointment that I waited for 5 months. I guess I drank too much Enterprise Kool-aid by believing its founder Jack C. Taylor that their goal is to offer the best service experience to their customer. I probably held these 3 employees to a much higher standard. I would say fairly that Enterprise had always offered me great services for more than 20 years until this incident. I guess part of the frustration was that I was expecting the same excellent services that I previously experienced. I was shocked that a service industry company would display such aggressive behavior toward a loyal customer. Passive aggression is just another form of aggression. Purposely stalling a customer to make him miss an important appointment has no place in any company that prides itself on providing excellent services. I went through the lengthy abnormal checkout process and signed everything. I did everything Anthony asked me to do. He took me through the entire process, and in the end, refused to honor the contract. I think anyone with my experience would be frustrated when confronted with a passive-aggressive employee. Our month-long 7-seater SUV rental was not available at pickup and instead got a 5-seater, which was way too small for us. Called all month for my 7-seater but calls not returned so stopped in a couple times and was dismissed saying they would call when 7-seater or van available - we never got a call back. We had golf clubs and kids. The kids had to sit on knees putting them at risk and breaking the law. We were offered no discount when we requested as we paid for a 7 seater and only got a 5 seater SUV, were told we got a good deal - terrible customer service! This company had no intention of ever giving us a 7-seater - we were the victims of bait and switch. Very disappointing. Will never rent from them again and i caution you to stay away. In addition, the 5 seater we got saddled with the touch display panel did not work so could not change the air conditioner or radio setting. Rediculous and no call back or discount. AND the two keys fobs they gave were together on one wire that could not be taken apart so very bulky to carry and my husband and I could not each have a fob. I was in a small accident I needed to take my car to the body shop. So, I made a reservation to rent and economy car for a week while my car was in the shop. When I showed up at eight in the morning to pick up the Rent-A-Car, they walked me outside and started showing me SUVs and asked which one I wanted. I was a little bit confused and told her that I had reserved an economy car. She told me that they didn't have one of the cars that I had reserved ready, so they were offering me the SUVs instead. I asked how long it would be before the car I reserved. It was ready and she said about an hour. When I asked if there was an up charge, she told me it would be an additional $29.95 a day. I told her that I wasn't really interested in adding an extra 50% to the cost of my rental for the week. She then told me that she could take that price down to an extra $15/day. I told her that once again, I was not interested in that. Perhaps we would go elsewhere. She walked inside to see what she could do. When she came out, she said that the car I ordered had, "just shown up." When she walked us out to the car that I had reserved, it turns out that the car had been there the entire time! I know that because it was the car that we parked behind when we arrived. This is not the first time that we have had them try to upgrade their sale by telling us that the car that we reserved was not back from cleaning yet. It actually happened the previous time we were there, but I took them up their word, and was in a hurry, and the rental was only for two days, so I went ahead and upgraded. Now I know that this is just the way they do business, so if I have to deal with them again, I will add plenty of extra time into my schedule in case I have to wait for the car. I ordered to, " get back from being washed, and cleaned." If you ask me, it's a pretty scammy way to do business. Do you think the company's integrity would be worth more than an upsell. I had the worst "customer service" experience ever from the Palm Desert location. I was supposed to be picked up between 11:30 and 12:30. The manager told me they were "very busy" and could I wait. I agreed to be picked up at 1. When I called to confirm, I was told the driver was still at lunch. He'd be there soon. I called back at 1:15 and they said he was "already there." I went outside and there was no one there. I waited about 10 minutes in 108 degree heat. When he pulled up, he did not get out of the car. I took my luggage to the back of the car and tried to open it. When I asked him if I could get any help, he said it was customer policy not to help with luggage. I said could you at least open the trunk for me. I mentioned I had been waiting for more than 10 minutes in the heat and he said "it was hotter yesterday." On the way to the agency, I cancelled my rental and called an Uber. When I complained to the manager about being treated rudely he said oh, ok. No apology. This location used to be FANTASTIC. Jasmine was the GM and did a great job and always made me feel like she cared. I'm not going back. And the guy who refused to help me...shame on you. read more

Going thru All State who pays $30/day , Jasmine (the manager) says since they never have a car within the $30 per day limit, I must pre-pay the extra fees for a minimum 10 day rental in addition to the $100 deposit - insurance rentals are for 10 day minimum rental per Enterprise policy. Even if I dont need the car for that long. Called All State,they said Jasmine is wrong but All State wont call Jasmine. As All State wants me to go to the rental office and confront Jasmine with All State on my phone . Confrontations are drama and can even get someone arrested. I called Jasmine back and told her and asked her to call All State. Jasmine refuses. She has my All State claim number and reservation. But prefers an in office confrontation which is bizarre and I dont do drama and confrontations. So I cant get my rental thru All State and Enterprise , cant get my car repaired. read more

This location has to be the worst rental car agency in the desert. Their yelp rating is no surprise. I recommend using hertz at the JW Marriott. I think the attitude of their staff also exemplifies the term soft quitting. I needed a car for a week as mine went into the body shop and made reservation with enterprise. Upon arrival, the manager, a rather unaccommodating young man, announced that the reservations, even though confirmed, are completely irrelevant, and he had no cars. No further explanation was offered. I then called again enterprise, and they informed me that they would have a car delivered and would call me shortly. They also advised that the manager to whom I had spoken should have informed me that since I had a confirmed reservation, a car would be brought over from another location. I told them that he didn't and asked why he did not and they said they can only speak for what the policy is not how it is fulfilled. Those of us that reside in the desert are used to a pretty good level of service from most of our restaurants, hotels, rental agencies, etc. This was rather surprising to me, but it is the first time post pandemic I have needed to rent a car. I now understand what soft quitting means. The employees there are simply not going to lift a finger to do anymore that is completely necessary to keep a job. It is equally sad and shocking. Talk about a bummer. I came to pickup a car I had a reservation for through Enterprise.com My friend and I were here for a full hour before we got into our car. The employees were flustered and disorganized. And to make matters worse, the 2-3 customers in front of us were awful. Call ahead to make sure they have available cars and you should be good to go without disappointment. Last Friday I arrived after checking in twice by phone earlier to make sure my car was still there that the only car I could rent needed a credit card. I am a locat resident who is an enterprise plus member and I have always used a debit card with no problem. The lady in charge straight out lied that I needed a credit card for the car and I confirmed it was a lie after reading my rental agreement that was sent to me when I made my reservatIon. Then I was lied to again and told I would get a call on Saturday to be able to rent a car before they closed. I called Enterprise plus to make sure I got my promised car and they said to call the location. The lady then acted all rude to me when I called and said she would definitely call back and of course, no schocker, she never called. Now my travel plans were ruined and even though I called Enterprise plus to complain and was told a regional supervisor would be calling me about my horrible experience no one ever called. As a former Public Relations executive, I was horrified at my treatment since I was a valued enterpirse plus member or so II thought. now that I am retired, I will make it my new project to wanr all locals in the Coachella Valley about this location and thier rude, lying employees. I reserved a luxury large suv to accommodate my family and luggage to find the only suv they had was not available due to some recall and all they had was small and would not accommodate us. I then booked another suv at a different location at a higher price the next day to be called in the morning to advise they also did not have the vehicle they said on their lot and could not guaranteed when one would be available At least they had the courtesy to call me before we uber'd and spent more money to find out they only had recalled cars on their lot. On November 3rd, 2022 I reserved a Ford F150 to be picked up on November 4th, 2022 at the Palm Desert Enterprise office, for a very important business meeting in Los Angeles. When I arrived at Enterprise early that morning, I waited 30 minutes in line to find out there were NO vehicles, much less the truck I needed for my trip and had reserved, with my credit card, the previous day. I was given a "I'm so sorry" and sent away (as were the people in front of me). This is of course not acceptable, as it cost me a sale and embarrassment in front of my customer. Ive come here 3-4x a year maybe more over thr past several years to rent a vehicle. Today, I Just want to recognize Carlos for his above and beyond service. The truck we were going to rent came back with a cracked windshield and a nail in the tire. And that was the only truck they had available. No SUVs left as they were all rented out for Coachella. Carlos asked the purpose of the vehicle to see if he can fit us in something comparable there was nothing available at his store so Carlos got on the phone, did his thing and he got us in a truck and on the road and 1.5 hr later. We really appreciated his above and beyond customer service. Just observing everything else going on -- cars being returned damaged, etc... Things that were out of his control and still getting yelled at by customers while he stayed cool under pressure. Never once did he display frustration or have a bad attitude. Just walking into the place I could tell something was wrong. The gal at the front desk mumbled something about the car in repair; or about to be fixed; and the after taking the drivers license and credit card information there would be a twenty minute wait. I knew it would be longer just by my sense of how that place functioned. After 25 minutes she said in another five minutes the car would arrive. When 15 minutes passed by, I had to leave because I was on a strict schedule that day. The gal disappeared. When I asked the gentleman sitting at a desk about the vehicle - his response was "we have the vehicle, it just is not here." He also said it may be hours for the vehicle to arrive. So I got an Uber ride to and from - waste of money. I was young once and so I am sensitive to younger people being abused. But that location is staffed by stupid young people. Renting a car in the PS area is always a problem. I am done with Enterprise. I wish my sixth and seventh senses would be incorrect, because even when I made the reservation online I sensed something was wrong. If the vehicle was unavailable, then notify people in advance. I worked in the rental car business for a short time and if I was a manager, those individuals on-site would have been fired. read more
