Broke down on the Thruway. Took a little while, but driver showed up. Driver was awesome. Got me…read moreto their shop and let me hang out while waiting for my wife. The front wheel bearing on my F-350 had failed. I asked them to do both at the same time. Tried to tell me I had a bad upper ball joint. Sent me a video. Looked to me like the nut was loose. Told them same. They disagreed. No worries, I said let it go. When I picked up the truck, I pulled the cotter pin, put a socket on the the nut and tightened it up. (Left loose by Owner at Santoni's garage in Collegeville Pa. when fixing alignment his "tech" screwed up) Just came in from lubing the front end on my truck. Felt something by the passengers lower ball joint. Got it out and found out it was the nut from the upper right stud where Gallagher's had replaced the bearing. This is why I do all my own work whenever possible. Also poor communication about status of truck and picking up. If you use Gallagher's just check their work yourself I guess!

I spent $555.00 for a major tune-up. I had ' tire pressure low' light on my dashboard and…read more'maintenance due soon' alerts. I get called while they're working in the car to ask if I want an oil change as well, it would cost an additional $75.00 plus. I refused as I asked 5 people in my office and consulted Kelly Blue Book website, all of who said oil change should be part of a major tune-up. I got the car, they did not check the tire pressure and left that light on. They did not fill windshield wiper fluid. They basically changed spark plugs, air and cabin filters, PCV valve, and that was it. ALSO note they advised me to change the spark plugs and their advice was unnecessary and self-serving. I did not request that service, I went in and requested a tune-up. Now, I still need to finish getting the car serviced but at a different garage as I will not return to Millers Corners Garage. 4/8/2023 Update: Went to Lia Honda who charged me $155.00 including tax for 5000 mile maintenance and to change oil and rotate tires, change fluids, etc... They said they were "very sorry" when I showed them the invoice from Millers Corners Garage. They said that you only change spark plugs and do a valve adjust after 100k miles. My car has under 18,500 miles. Millers Corners tole me I needed to change the spark plugs and do a valve adjust. That was untrue. Three techs of Lia Honda looked at the Millers Corners invoice and shook their heads, saying sorry to me. They all said it looks like I was cheated.

The dealer told me I needed to replace a caliper and (basically brand new) brake. I took my car here for a second opinion where they explained why the caliper might be leaking, how it might be affecting the brake, and under what circumstances the brake would have to be replaced. They updated me every step of the way and were able to replace the caliper and avoiding replacing my nearly new brake. I really appreciated that they took the time to check in with me when they looked at the car, when the part came in, and when the work was completed. I don't know much, if anything, about cars but I really appreciated it when they explained everything in great detail so I can better understand what's happening with my own car. Also, it's a little thing, but every time I've interacted with anyone at this garage, they called me by my name and even remembered my partner's name when he went to pick up my car for me. I'm definitely coming here for all my car service from now on.

I've had everything from regular maintenance to power steering hoses, transmission lines, transmission flush, starter replacement, etc. Never a problem with any of these. I am a former mechanic and was looking for a new garage. The first thing I did when checking out Fredericks was look at the shop. It was exceptionally clean and well organized. Everything had a place. They had the latest diagnostic equipment as well as other equipment that showed me they stayed up-to-date on the automotive trade. In other words, I know a great shop when I see one. Add to that the fact that the people at Fredericks are very professional, accommodating and friendly and you have a shop you can depend on. Are they a little pricey? Maybe, but you certainly get what you pay for and if you want some hack to work on your car in some dark, dingy cinder block garage, then have at it. If you want quality work by professionals then Fredericks is your place.
