Tonight I had a double cheese burger, fries and a strawberry milk shake. It hit the spot. Great restaurant

Good food and reasonable pricing. Really liked the burger and chicken sandwich! Also the onion rings are excellent.

Delicious food, awesome sweet tea and staff is excellent. Moved here about a year ago and love this place.

Food is good. Grill is quaint. Service is always prompt. Not sure why there is a photo of the lake for this grill. Unless you are trailering your boat it, it's going to be rather hard to get access from the water other than the water being miles away, Dons is a staple in Maiden. Prices are way too high and food is not as good as it used to be. Even the specials are ridicules.

Now just from the appearance of this place on the outside you don't expect some fine dining establishment, but for a small diner with the reputation of Maiden's best you do expect good food and friendly service. On our visit Don's failed in both. The waitresses, overworked and rushed, were anything but friendly and the food was poorly prepared. Lettuce was wilted and the hamburgers were cooked to a crisp-literally. Pieces of charcoal (or grit?) were falling off the burgers- nothing like a serving of grit to make the meal memorable. The place was packed on a weekday so obviously very popular so maybe the hotdogs are the key- several people were ordering them. read more

Unfortunately, Dons is just not that good anymore. Food is tasteless, if you are jot a regular service is not great and everything is just frozen reheated food from the supermarket or sams club. It used to tastte better or maybe my tastes were easier to satisfy? But either way, i would rather have a Burger King or Wendys burger.... dont waste your time here. Sorry Dons... read more

What can I say? A below average burger joint. You know the kind. The one that pops up in an old strip mall or building, stays open 6 month or so, then gone. Surprised this one has been open for so long. I've been here a few times, always an issue of some sort each visit. I always try to give a place 2-3 chances before criticizing, just in case they were having a bad day. Seems like someone wanted to open their own place with zero, or very little training and/or experience. Hate to say it but, don't waste your time. I'm a frequent eater when I'm in town. I love poorboys but have always hated the service. The last time I was in town I was served by a young lady named Alesha and she was absolutely amazing. The times I went before that, I was served by the usual workers who had no passion and was there to make a quick buck. They were all fairly rude and did not check up on me more than once to take my order. Sadly when I went back after my only good visit. I asked for Alesha and she wasn't there and they said she was fired. Looks like they fired one of the only workers that knew what hard work was. read more

They have a few home made meals- but not many. When you walk it from either side, you see the gigantic freezers in the kitchen. That is how much of the food is frozen and not fresh. But what they do make fresh is very yummy and worth the stop in. I love the beef soup when they have it and my husband always gets poor boy with cheese. The reason why I gave a 3 star is the staff is super friendly and makes sure you are happy. read more

I'm so surprised to see such bad reviews here. This place is great! They get pretty busy so be prepared for a short wait. They also hire angsty teenagers so be prepared for that as well. But the owners are fantastic and they have the best french fries I've ever eaten. I'm a big fan of their french dip and their cheeseburgers. Give them a try, especially if you're a local! read more
