I dropped off some locks at 9am to be re-keyed at my new house. I called at 1 pm to get an update and said it would be done before the end of the day. 4pm, I called....still the same answer. I drive down at 4:50pm to grab my locks, to be found in the same exact spot since 9am. I have two issues with this: 1. What if I didn't take the initiative to call them? Would I be forced to just leave my front door with no lock until their technicians felt like coming in to do their job? 2. The response I got when I went back was that they were very busy. Not even an apology I don't doubt the quality of service most reviewers have posted. Also, I don't want to be THAT person who just comes off as bitter, but I hope other people can see why I will DISCOURAGE anyone from giving them business. One of the worst experiences I've had with any business. I honestly wish I could give them 0 stars. UPDATE : I called Locksmith 2 U. They came to my house in 25 minutes, re-keyed all my locks, and were finished in 30 minutes. A very reasonable and competitive price. Please go to them, rather, you don't have to, they come to you! Absolutely horrible service!!! The tech came to check out the car and wouldn't give me a quote before starting. He unscrewed the door handle on the passenger side. After I told him we won't be needing a key from him, he put the handle back without screwing it in. I asked him if he screwed the handle back in and he said "I didn't touch it" and left. Later, I found out that the handle was not screwed in! I reached out to the manager/owner and he never responded to come fix the issue. Now I'll be paying for another repairman to fix my door and I will be forwarding the costs to this company. read more

He was able to remove the tumbler; cut a key and put the tumbler back in minutes for $35 This visit a different tech was dispatched for $120. We assumed he'd do the same service Mike did. Unfortunately not. After 45 minutes he took a large drill bit and went right through the lock. Metal shards were everywhere. He finally gained entry to our place. But now we have to buy a new $75 specialty lock set and have it keyed to match the deadbolt ; then pay s locksmith to have IT installed. Disappointed read more

I went here because they are close to my house. 1 mile. I had always chose this place in riverside because I know they pretty much wiped out all the competitors in Riverside. The quoted me $40-$80 to key 1 cylinder. I boroughs them the cylinder. They had it for TWO days. Called me and said they couldn't make a key or get a key to fit. This is for a 70' Chevelle. I said, so this means I can't get keys made for my 74' truck too? They just shrugged. Went some where else and got the key made in 5 minutes. And only for $20. This means I don't have to go to Home Depot anymore and beg for a staff member to help me keys, and 2. They're way cheaper. Very uncomfortable experience. Got a tailgate lock rekeyed on my truck. Waited in the lobby for 15 minutes and rang the bell several times. The lady's in the back office ignored me. Finally one of the guys in the parking lot came in to help me. The woman in the office went off on him. Yelled at the guy helping me "Get over yourself". I had my kids with me, they got scared. While I'm waiting a younger tech came inside and had to help another customer from McDonalds. He needed a copy made. The tech insisted they do not have those key blanks and was super rude to the McDonalds guy. Even after MD dude pointed out they made this key for him in the first place. The tech said "I'm 100% positive we don't make these here. Go someplace else!" He was super rude. The MD dude insisted and the elusive back room lady came out to grace us with her presence, and got him the right key. MD dude and I talked in the parking lot. Neither of us will be going back here. The guy who rekeyed my lock for $50 was friendly. I think he is the owner. If only his employees we as friendly and knowledgeable. That's why they got 2 and not 1 Star. read more

My wife and I had a very bad experience in this place. We called first. They said they had the car key. We drove there. Then we had to wait . When the Tech came from lunch said that he could not do it. We were told to come back at 8:30 when other Techs were there. We went in a different day to find out that they did not have the key. This is by far the laziest building of people I have seen. It seems that they put all that effort into Batman and decorations that the actual service it self is extremely unprofessional. Would not recommend even popping in because they are going to tell you to come back when someone else is there to do it. Called AAA after locking the key to my Vette in the car in the Planet Fitness parking lot. I was quickly informed that my vehicle was on the list of "High Security" vehicles and that the cost would be $250 of which they would cove $100. So my out of pocket cost would be $150. Don's lock and key called me promptly after being c ntacted by AAA and asked a few pertinent questions about the vehicle and informed me that this info would make the technicians visit go much faster. FASTER would be the underestimate of the year. The tech (I think it was Don himself!) showed up within the hour with a "Secret" key (Vette owners will know what I'm referring to) opened my vehicle in a second and had me on my way.
