I just called them to ask for a quote. After going down the path of giving them all my information they came back with they don't service Folsom anymore. They didn't even have a reccomendation. Because of the lack of trying to help me with my tree issue, regardless if they would do the work, I do not rank them well on the customer service side. They may do fine work, but I won't know. I can only rank the experience I got which left me very disappointed, especially after all the other nice reviews. read more

Very professional, great crew. On time, excellent job trimming a very full birch tree. And the clean up was terrific. They even saved two baby squirrels in a nest in the tree. We were able to re-nest them in a neighboring tree where the mama squirrel has found them. I will absolutely use Don's again and highly recommend them. read more

Loved their work. Robert (Bob) and his crew were great. Bob listened to what I wanted and always checked in with me to make sure I was happy. They cleaned up my HUGE bay tree and I swear I am writing this smiling about how beautiful it looks. Bob and his crew really got it. I never write reviews but we called Don's Tree Service and on that same day they came out and gave us an estimate. We scheduled for the following Wednesday, they arrived right on time, they were very professional and did an amazing job. We had a very big Fruitless Pear tree and the three people had it down and everything was cleaned up in about two hours. The yard looked great! This company provides less than you pay for. I hired them based on a referral, mind you a judge in town so I'm thinking good. Well if your not the decision maker of their future don't invite them into your future. They killed the only tree I asked them to protect, which was not the tree to trim, and they killed it. I called the office during the work to only get an answering service. They replied a few days later and every time I try to return the call it goes to a fax machine beeps not people. So not only did they kill the one tree I asked to not hurt they never actually finished the tree I asked to be trimmed and damaged another tree, not to leave out the trash, water bottles in various bushes and all of the tree trimmings they left behind. I'm not usually one to complain but in this situation take my word for it, go with a different company unless you truly don't care about your yard and the service you pay for because they are terrible even at half the cost of other companies. read more

The guys from Don's Tree Service did an excellent job. They arrived promptly at 8AM and got right to work. In the back yard, two fruit trees, an orange and a pomegranate, needed to be pruned and crowned so that their fruit would be in "picking" range. They pruned another fruit tree, a plum?, to remove dead wood and give the tree another year or two of life. In the side yard, another tree, a pecan, needed to have some dead and broken limbs removed. In the front yard, the last tree, a camphor, had a really long limb stretching way over the roof of the house that needed to be removed. The limb was at least 20+ ft long and about 10+ in in diameter at its base. This limb was taken down in stages and then cut into firewood and stacked. All of the other cut limbs were run into their chipper. They also blew all of the leaves off of the roof and grass and chipped them also. Believe it or not, they were done by 10AM. Excellent job at a very reasonable price. I recommend them and would hire them for any future tree work that I would need. read more

they may want to update the website for service areas... i called to get a quote for my area and they said "oh we dont service that area due to gas" well from Florin Rd to North Highlands im sure it would be worth it by the time they did the work but i will go with another company that wants my money. fine with me. read more

We have been wanting to get rid of this big maple tree in the back of my patio/mini yard. The stinking tree is right outside of my bedroom windows. I have allergies so when I open the windows, it's literally killing me with pollen blowing in. It sucks. We finally got the time to look up some tree removal services companies and saw that Don's Tree Service has quite some ratings. We called them and told them what we wanted and they came to give us a quote. It was cheap, cheap, cheap! We thought it would cost us an arm and a leg, but it was well within our price range. We called to schedule and was hoping to get it done within a week, but the lady said they were busy for the next two weeks. BUT, we got a called from the servicing guy and he offered to schedule the very next morning. Done deal! I came home and the tree was GONE! I was so happy. They did a great job. They cut the tree all the way to the ground and put poison on the rest of the trunk so it won't grow again. Love it! They were willing to invoice us and we just sent them the check. I would recommend this company to anyone! read more

Just called these guys wed at noon. Told the woman our needs and she said someone would call later to schedule a quote.....35min later a knock at the door and it's them! Gave me a quote for a 20ft tree that I thought was a difficult removal ( fences within 2ft on 2 sides, pool slide on one side and swimming pool on other that the tree hung over!) I was worried about the tree ending up in the pool, but they assured me they could do it no problem. Gave me a $165 quote and a promise a call from the head honcho that night. As promised John called and said they could do it thur or fri afternoon! They arrived thur as said, tarped up the pool, removed the tree without a leaf going in the pool, cut it into logs for us to keep AND removed 2 other small trees that I thru in at the last minute (for only $15 more) These guys are amazing, fast, professional, nice, and know what they're doing. Would recommend them for any tree service needs you have. read more

I called Don's Tree Service on 6/28 to get the estimate. I've told that it will be $250 but I got an advised that it is better to do some more work for that tree, I accepted, the price will be $360, I listened and said oaky. I asked the person on the phone that I will not pay cash for the work due to the IRS will not allow me to report the cash payment for the property repair. On the servicing day, 6/30, I've been advised by the worker that it is better to remove the whole tree, the price was increased to $500. Due to the property is in Sacramento and I am living in SF, I listened to them again and wish to avoid future trouble. I did not use bank account checks for the past 5 years and did not carry any check book with me. When I back to SF after July 4th, I called Don's Tree Service Company and ask if they will accept a credit card payment, they said NO, than I asked what is the payment period will be so I may arrange a payment to them. A lady in the office said they need to be paid right away. I said I will pay it and I finished the phone with her. It was not even a minute later, a guy called me right back and saying that why you did not pay? You have no money why you called for service? I said that I have other fence need to be fixed and it will be cost me other $2000, I said that I just for asking if you will take a credit card payment, but I never said I will not to pay. I felt that it was very insulted the way they talked to me on the phone. I still have other 2 trees need to be cut in the near future, with this kind service and attitudes, I will never go back to Don's Tree Service again, and I bet I will no more business with them. read more
