I contacted this company to get an estimate for tree work on my property. My first impressions were quite positive: the estimator arrived early, texted me to inform me of his arrival, and provided thoughtful feedback regarding the work we needed to have done as we walked around the property. He informed me that a detailed estimate would be sent to me via text message later in the day/week and just as promised, I received it within hours after his departure. So what went wrong? Lack of follow through. I replied to the initial estimate indicating that I would need time to review the bid and would get back to him shortly. I received no reply, but that's OK as a reply to such a message is not necessary. After reviewing the estimate, I followed up with several questions, but never heard back. This is not OK as it prohibits us from moving forward. It is not clear to me why a company would take the time to provide an estimate if they are not willing to follow up with their customers. It is a waste of their time and the customer's, does not reflect well upon the company, and results in the loss of future referrals. If the company is too busy, would much rather have them state that they are inundated with jobs at the moment and cannot take on additional contracts until xx weeks or months rather than taking my time for a useless estimate. In the end, a different company provided an estimate later in the week and was hired for the job instead. read more

We had to trim a sycamore tree in our front yard that was starting to overhang over our house and the street, which made a huge mess in our backyard since the leaves would blow over the house. When I contacted Environmental Tree Service, they had a prompt response and came within a few days after my request. The initial quote was free, and Jeremiah was great at answering all of my questions and amenable to the trim I wanted. After, he sent a quote very quickly and broke the cost down. Sorry ahead of time for the long read. We recently bought our home and wanted to clean up the cypress we have in the backyard. We decided to go with this company because of all the great reviews. Jeremiah had come for a consultation and seemed very knowledgeable. We spoke about reshaping the trees to clear them of the vines entwined to make them healthy, while keeping them pointy and keeping the height. We spoke about possibly reducing the height but since he said the power lines shouldn't be a problem then we said we weren't worried. The day arrives to get the work done and it's two gentlemen. Neither were Jeremiah but that was fine. He had texted me, day of, saying they had a scheduling issue so he wasn't going to be there. No biggy. We showed the guys the gate, the trees and left them to it. Now we go to check in after a little while and unfortunately see that they've cut them much shorter than we discussed and just chopped them flat at the top. Neither is what we said we wanted so my husband went out to explain and hopefully remedy. There was a bit of a language barrier so we got Jeremiah on the phone to try and help. The fourth tree they were able to cut nicely, albeit still shorter than we wanted but at this point we figured we can try to somewhat match the height of the other 3 that were lopped off. It at least looked better and more like what we wanted. We brought up trimming the sides so the vines weren't connected too, since it was something we had discussed with Jeremiah, but this seemed to only further upset the workers. They were clearly irritated with us even though we were only trying to communicate what we wanted. Once we saw that they started butchering the last (worked on) tree leaving literal bare sticks, we agreed to just have everything stop at that point. What we wanted was nothing out of the ordinary but it became such a bebaccial. I gave videos of before and after to Jeremiah and he did apologize for the confusion and work done. He offered to reschedule when he could be there or to just find someone else and no charge. We reached out a couple days later to say we would like to work out a new deal on the situation but it's been 3 days and haven't heard a thing. So we're assuming he's just wiping his hands clean with this one. I wish we could've had a better outcome but here we are. Can't say I can recommend their service after this. read more

I reached out to Environmental Tree Service regarding the removal of a tree. Jeremiah came out to provide me with an estimate for the removal of an unwell pecan tree which was infringing upon my neighbor's roof. He was professional and represented the company well. Estimate was consistently priced with other companies estimates. He told me he'd email me a written estimate later in the afternoon which he did. I selected Environmental Tree Service for my needs because of Jeremiah's customer service, can do attitude, the price and timeliness of scheduling the job. Jeremiah and the crew did not disappoint. The crew arrived on time, ready to work. The lead guy identified himself, again very professional, and the crew immediately got to work. They were quick, tidy and unless you'd seen the tree you'd never know they'd been there. The tree and all remnants were cleaned up. The second crew, the stump grinders, arrived an hour before I was told they would. They were also professional and hustled to get the job done. They completed the grinding, blew out my backyard and removed any signs of Environmental Tree Service or their staff having been there. It was sprinkling on the first day and then a downpour on the second appointment but his guys were on time and still able to complete the jobs. They took down the front yard magnolia with stump and the camphor with stump in the back. Job was split between two days (cutting down and then stump removals) and both his teams were on time and friendly. We had a 75-foot tall tulip poplar removed last week from our back yard. It was a big project with 3 or 4 workers each day. The work was overseen by Jeremiah and Francis, both of whom are completely bilingual, making communication easy. They and the other workers are fine men and the job was done well. Jeremiah gave us a quote for $850 to remove a tall queen palm, a fat windmill palm, and three tall privet / laurel bushes including stump grinding. He had a higher price than some other quotes, but sooner availability. They did a good job, I'll just say that if you have a drip system around your trees, it will be cut with removals, it's unavoidable. We knew we would have to rework the irrigation afterwards anyway. Although the stump grinder put up a particleboard barrier, some of the wood chips still got in our pool - again, hard to avoid. I would use them again. read more

This is the second time we had our trees trimmed by Environmental Tree Services and again they did a fantastic job! We have two enormous liquid amber trees in the front yard with a history of dropping branches in the summer heat. Well, this summer they did it again! The difference was, the prior time we had the trees trimmed, we used someone else... lesson learned. We called ETS back and they gave us a reasonable quote -- including a returning customer discount -- and while it was not the lowest estimate, it also was not the highest. They gave us a fair quote for the amount of work and we knew they would do a quality job. The two liquid ambers were done so well -- thinned and shaped without hacking off branches or topping -- they look beautiful and the wind now moves through them without threatening to break anything! This is the second time I've had Environmental Tree Service take care of the big trees in our yard. The first time they came out several years ago, they recognized a fault in a large tree limb that would likely have fallen on our garage in the very near future. They pointed out the area of concern and we could not believe we had not noticed. They made arrangements in their schedule to take care of that limb as well as the rest of our trees right away. In addition to that tree, they also thinned out two big fruitless mulberries. Initially we were concerned that they had trimmed too much but in the Spring, the trees budded and filled in beautifully - as did our walnut trees. On this recent visit, Jeremiah came out, walked the yard with us, advised us on the condition of our trees and made recommendations accordingly. He was very knowledgeable about the types of trees and what was needed to help them stay healthy. We received his estimate just shortly after his visit and made arrangements for the work to be completed. The crew, Diego, Francisco and LaLo, arrived on time and got right to work. Jeremiah stopped by about midway through the work to evaluate the progress. Even though the mulberries were again extensively thinned out, we were not concerned this time having gained trust in their expertise and experience. The crew also did a great job cleaning up the yard and debris after they finished up. Diego, the crew lead, checked in to see if we would walk the yard to be sure we were happy with their work or if there was more we would like them to take care of. Really nice, hardworking guys. I had 3 tree companies provide quotes to remove a tall palm tree that was in between a fence and power lines. I selected Environmental Tree Service for one large reason - they had the right equipment to do it. Go check out their website, which has videos of their equipment in action. My favorite was the wood mover (no idea what it's actually called), but it was fun to watch in person as they used it to move the big pieces into the truck. And the crane was huge! The crew was right on time and super efficient, they had our large tree down in just over an hour. They didn't get anything on any of our neighbors' yards and they didn't block our narrow street. My driveway and front porch (which was not near the tree) were completely cleaned before they left. They also cleaned up anything fell in the street (even little tiny stuff). The stump grinder came by a couple days later, and then he cleaned my driveway and front porch again. Their quote came in the middle of the other two quotes. Jeremiah, who provided the quote, noticed a baby palm off my driveway and offered to take that out for free. Jeremiah was very responsive to my texts and answered any questions I had. Requested a quote to have a couple of trees pruned back at our new home. Received a call back immediately and was able to get an appointment within a couple of days. Jeremiah came over and was very thorough and knowledgeable about what needed to be done. My husband went to show him another tree that needed pruning and found out the tree was dying and needed to be removed. He gave us an estimate and the price was extremely reasonable! We had them come and remove 3 trees from our yard, they gave us a good price and we went with them, but we had asked for the tree trunks to be left behind for our woodworking projects, and he had said he could do that (in writing in text) but when they came and did their work and left, they had left us two 3 feet long logs from two 20-25 ft trees!!! They just threw the whole thing in the chipper. Wood that could have been used. What's so environmental about that? I was so upset, and note this is hardwood we're talking about. So we called them, and Jeremiah said he would bring an equivalent amount of wood to us which makes it better. But my heart still feels pain. The only way I was keeping myself somewhat ok with getting rid of two trees, was that we were going to use its wood and they were not going to die in vain, which unfortunately they did. read more

The second worker came with his machine and loaded that tree up and hauled it away. The third worker came out the next day and grind the stump and took all of that away and cleaned up.
