a bagel with a bite taken out of it

Interesting variety of donut flavors (like Honeydew). Definitely worth trying a half dozen for a nice variety, and they are sweet but dense, so definitely different from your chain donut store. I do wish they had the menu on their site. It's convenient they have a drive thru, but it was hard to look over the rather long menu in a socially etiquette drive thru time. I like to look over options without holding everyone up. Also got an egg sandwich on an everything bagel, which was good, so don't shy away from the other non-donut menu items. A solid place for some breakfast treats.

I came in here as I had an hour or so to kill while waiting for a friend and didn't want to drive all the way to my favorite spot Bageland. The parking area is small and so is the building but it's cozy so I really liked that. Walking in it smelled of fried dough which is always a good thing. The service was quick and friendly. You simply walk in and place your order at the counter. The doughnut selection was pretty good I wished they had a chocolate glazed doughnut but I went with a bagel and a Boston cream with coffee. The doughnut was meh it had very little filling mostly just dough. The coffee was hot but nothing special other than the grind on the bottom and the bagel was what you would get most places though Bageland has bigger bagels fr less money. There wasn't anything amazing about this place. But the service was great, food fresh and hot. Prices average. I will say my usual place has a bigger bagel with better coffee for a smaller price but this one was really good too. I think what truly made this place special was that it gave me a mom and pop type feel. Overall I would return just because I liked my service and I liked that the doughnuts are made in house.

Donut Connection is a donut chain with a Gainesville location on 39th. The location has been there a while and it shows, it feels almost stuck in the 90s but I think that's part of the charm and I love it. They have your standard options: donuts, bagels, sandwiches, and coffee. Their donut variety is great and I always have a hard time choosing. My favorite is red velvet! They have wonderful, cheap iced coffee and flavored syrups. If you're looking for donuts, give them a shot!

Hands down their best donut.

I love donuts espicially from a mom's and pop's place because they're so unique. I frequent this location often. I personally do not like the breakfast sandwiches. There are very few donuts that I enjoy from here. Most of the donuts are basic and don't stand out. The double chocolate cake donut is delicious but my all time favorite is the peanut butter donut. It you love peanut butter and jelly this is the donut for you. It's got the perfect ratio of peanut butter and rasberry jelly packed tightly in the hole of each donut. I say why pack a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch when you can have a peanut butter and jelly donut!

Since living in Gainesville for the past 7 years, I cannot believe that I have yet to try this local donut shop! I stopped by for the first time in the morning and was very satisfied with how fast and efficient the drive through was. As you can see, Donut connection's assortment of donuts is extensive with some of my favorites being the red velvet, maple, and apple fritter. If you want some classic and traditional donuts, definitely try this place out!

Really good donuts - probably the best Apple Fritter I've had in a long time! I like the set up of the coffee and iced coffee, where you mix your own with flavor, sugar, and cream, but they could've made the atmosphere look nicer. Maybe even have it smell nicer when you walk in. Despite that, I'll still be coming back here

I think I've found Gainesville's best bagel spot! So far, all I've heard has been rave reviews of…read moreBagel Bakery. And it DEFINITELY lived up to the hype without a doubt. The Bagel Bakery offer a nice variety of bagels, along with other baked goods, sandwiches, wraps, coffees, and plenty of cream cheeses. Their bagels are made fresh throughout the morning. I would recommend going earlier in the day in order to have the best, freshest variety before they sell out. The workers are some of the nicest people. They are all super helpful and very friendly. When it came to ordering, they were extremely helpful and patient. Ordering is really easy and the staff does an amazing job handling customers. Service is just 10/10! The inside is welcoming and comfortable. With a decent amount of seating option, both inside and out, it is a great place to go with friends. I ended up ordering a toasted bacon-cheddar bagel with spinach & artichoke cream cheese. The bagel was phenomenal, I have absolutely no complaints. Super soft and fresh, the texture was wonderful. I wouldn't consider this a New York styled bagel, but it was still better than any of the other bagels I've had in Gainesville. The bagel had real bacon on it, which made all the difference in the bacon flavor. The cheddar was sharp, but not overpowering. The spinach-artichoke cream cheese was like nothing I'd had before. With actual pieces of artichokes in it, it was perfection. The texture of the cream cheese was also nice. Not too thick, but necessary whipped, I thoroughly enjoyed it! While I was checking out their cookies caught my eye and I added a chocolate chip one to my order. The cashier offered me a free day old cookie from the previous that they couldn't sell. This was very generous and appreciated! The chocolate cookies were very good. I appreciated the different chunks of chocolate in the cookie. The base of the cookie had a good buttery, brown sugar taste...delicious! The free, day-old cookie obviously wasn't as fresh as the ladder, but still good nonetheless. The cookies were so satisfying I actually came back to order another one. I ordered the lemon blueberry one and the cashier, once again, offered me another free cookie. The lemon-blueberry cookie was also amazing. Buttery, with a tangy lemon flavor, the cookie was really moist. The other free cookie I got was a caramel chip one. This was more of a crunchy cookie with chunks of caramelized caramel pieces and white chocolate chips. You really can't go wrong with any of the baked good here. I do appreciate the fact that they prioritize selling fresh baked goods each day! Overall, I was blown away with the Bagel Bakery. Honestly I'm kicking myself because I haven't come here sooner. The bagels are extremely fresh, with a great variety, and the perfect texture. The cream cheeses are great as well and have a nice consistency. Everything had so much flavor here. I think that is proof they use good ingredients and take pride in their craft. All the cookies I tried were amazing and shouldn't be missed either. The service is above and beyond. Really made the whole experience even better. This place feels like a local place and they treat their customers so well. Next time I come I will have to try more of their bagels (obviously), but also try some of their other baked goods too! It is safe to say I will be returning. I would HIGHLY recommend coming here over any other bagel place in the area.

I went to the Luke's Bagels location under the Standard this past week and was disappointed. I hadn't been here in a little bit, especially since Bagels & Co. just opened down the street. But I was craving a Luke's Bagels, so I got there around 8:30, when they opened ready to order. Unfortunately, no one was at the counter when I came in. Someone popped out from the back to take my order a little while's later though. Their bagel selection was extremely limited, more so than usual. They didn't have poppy seed or sesame seed bagels. This was surprising, as I thought this location was sent fresh bagels each morning, I guess not. Luckily, I was able to order a bacon, egg, and cheese on a toasted Asiago, along with a toasted plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese. This took roughly 15 minutes to come out, which was longer than I expected. Upon delving into my bagels, I noticed a couple things that were different from my previous visits last semester. The bagels were definitely smaller, had less cream cheese, and didn't taste as fresh. The BEC had ample amounts of American cheese and the eggs were good, but there was barely any bacon! There was MAYBE two meager pieces on the bagel, I didn't even get bacon in most of my bites. The Asiago bagel still had a decent taste, with a nice sharp Asiago. But it just wasn't very fresh tasting like they've been in the past. The texture wasn't awful, but it wasn't what it used to be. The plain bagel with cream cheese was lackluster. The plain bagel was just fine, as it too was not very fresh. The strawberry cream cheese was decent and not too sweet, which I appreciate. I also like that their cream cheeses have more of whipped texture to them. But there certainly wasn't as much cream cheese on this bagel as I've received in the past! Overall, I was not very pleased with my experience here. The bagels were not fresh at all, the sandwich was lacking bacon, and I just thought the quality appeared be lower. Maybe I came on an off day, but the bagels were not fresh and the assortment they had available was very limited. The texture of the bagels still has a softer center, with a chewy outside , but the outside was too chewy and hard. The size and portions were decreased as well. The BEC had too much cheap, American cheese, and lacked bacon. The plain bagel with cream cheese didn't have much smear on it. For being about $19 for two bagels, not worth it. This makes me sad as I used to love Luke's, but this was not a good visit. I hope next time I come here it is better!

There is plenty of seating and the staff is very friendly. Since it is located in Midtown, parking could be tricky. It wasn't super busy when we arrived, but it seems to be a popular spot amongst college students. The menu offers a nice variety of asian dishes and they also serve breakfast/brunch on the daily. The interior appeared sort of "run down", but in the best way possible. It was still inviting and provided for a nice, laid back sort of meal. The food doesn't take too long to come out either and it is made fresh to order. We ended up ordering the steamed dumplings as an appetizer. I also ordered a cup of miso soup. The dish comes with 5 decent size dumplings. They are handmade and packed with filling. I appreciated the flavorful pork and the amount of it in them. My miso soup was pretty standard, nothing too special. But is hit the spot on a chilly evening. For our entrees, my friend ordered the beef udon, while I ordered the Lemongrass chicken. The portions are pretty large and we found it to be quite filling. My friend said this was some of the best udon she'd had. The broth was very flavorful, the beef was tender, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The only thing she didn't like as much was the fried egg, opposed to the more traditional hard boiled egg. My lemongrass chicken was satisfying as well. It came with a copious amount of chicken, with a really tangy sauce over it. The rice was overcooked, which was disappointing. Overall, Bagels and Noodles is a wonderful asian eatery located in Midtown. Its location is prime for college students and I can see why it is so popular. The service is very good and personable. The "hole in the wall" feel of the restaurant makes the atmosphere! The food is made with lots of love and it was served fresh and hot. The dumplings are amazing and I would recommend. My friend is already dying to come back and explore more of their noodle dishes. I will definitely be returning and look forward to trying more things!
