The best donuts in our area...hands down! My favorites are the sour cream cake donuts and the lemon filled or key lime filled. The two citrus filled ones alternate, they never have them both at the same time. Just picture in your mind, the best lemon meringue or key lime pie you've ever had, and that filling is what's in these donuts. OMG, the best. The new location (only a few steps from the old) is much roomier and easier to park at. BTW, in response to someone else's post, they really put a lot of filling in their donuts. read more

Good service, nice and not pushy. The shop is small but clean. You can smell the donuts out into the lot. Good selection and they just kept bringing fresh ones out. They are delicious! We shared a maple bacon and I was pleasantly surprised. Chocolate cake glazed all I can say it wow! Much bigger location with tables inside. Picked up donuts for the family on the way home. Frosting on the donuts still soft and sticky when I cut a piece for my son. Short round digs the occasional iced cake donut with sprinkles (he usually gets treated with a plain donut). I personally love their Oreo donuts! read more

Donut Den has a nice big selection of cake, filled and other donuts. The filled donuts were pretty good I liked the New York Cheesecake however I feel they didn't have enough filling. The cake donuts are good but, can use more icing for the selected flavor. The French toast donut and Oreo donut however are grand slams creative and flavorful!!! read more

The donuts were fresh, but lacked a quality amount of filling in them. I was a bit disappointed, because if I want a small amount of filling, I can go to Dunkin Donuts. This past Friday was National Employee Appreciation Day. I had placed an order for 18 DOZEN assorted donuts for me and my fellow coworkers. Ordering was a breeze, they only needed 24 hour notice from me to place the order, which I thought was great! We passed around the donuts and it was a huge hit for everyone. Soft and fresh and tasty! The Donut Den is the best donut shop in Joliet. We began going here for donuts about 10 years ago. They were still at the old location down the road. As for freshness and taste you just cannot compare to any others. Each donut/claw/fritter (you name it) has it's own unique taste. It's not like Dunkin Donuts where everything tastes the same. Seriously the best donuts I've ever had. A friend of mine brought a half dozen over for breakfast one morning and it was so amazing. I had an oreo donut and a french toast one and began to crave more right after! I went maybe a week later on a Saturday and wasn't able to get the two I recently obsessed over because they're THAT GOOD. Always fresh donuts! They are incredible. I literally drive past 3-4 donut shops to get a dozen from them. My family all has their own favorite which there are tons to choose from. If you like donuts, this is a good place. Consistent quality. Less expensive than Dunkin Donuts. Fresh - regardless of what time of day you buy them. Coffee is good (I'm a coffee snob). Beware though, this place is popular and they seem to be out of a lot of variety when you get there (late morning or afternoon), but you'll be able to find some flavors that you like and they will be good. what a disappointment. I went there on Fat Tuesday, of course knowing it would be busy, to find they had nothing on the shelves. The girl behind the counter said they were still trying to fill orders and didn't know if there would even have any for the shelf. Did Fat Tuesday sneak up on them too. I have never been here before and didn't realize how close it was to me. It was a great laid back atmosphere. You are able to sit and talk and enjoy your donuts and coffee! The donuts to me were just average. I selected a dozen to try, and I found all the vanilla donuts to taste extremely similar no matter their flavor. Even the sour cream tasted almost identical to their original glazed, just with a slightly different texture. And unfortunately a double chocolate I got did not exactly taste fresh. I'm from Southern California, where mom and pop donut stores are on practically every other street corner. Donut Den is about as good as any California donut I've had. I do miss the lounge area in the old building, but I'm glad they're still close by. It would also be nice if they had a strawberry-frosted cake donut like a lot of California donut shops have. read more
