The parking entrance is one way, so slightly inconvenient if you came from the wrong direction. Had a rough start to my Sunday morning so figured I'd treat myself before I got to work. Stopped by Donut Depot since it was close to the 101 entrance and it didn't disappoint. The donuts were what you'd expect and the bacon, egg and cheese bagel sandwich was incredibly good. I thought it was going to be messy but it was put together so well that everything stayed in the sandwich. For those who've had bagel sandwiches before, you know how hard that is to do. Great service and pastries. Every person behind the counter greeted me and were very nice. I got the surprise bag via an app. I was expecting the pastries to not be fresh, but the quality was still high. Out of all the pastries, only a couple of donut holes were a little dry; everything seemed fresh to me. All the pastries were very good. My favorite pastry was the apple fritter and the chocolate glazed cake donut. While there is a parking lot in front, it's a bit small. I had to park around the corner. This is an eclectic little donut shop with great food and decent prices. My husband had the ham and cheese croissant and an old fashion donut. I had a jelly filled and also an old fashion. All of it was awesome. The croissant was huge and the donuts were so fresh and we were there at 11:00. They still had a great selection even though we were there in the late morning. Came here on the weekend for a quick breakfast. We got 2 sesame bagels and 1 chocolate donut. The lady was so sweet and threw in some extra donut holes for us, no extra charge. Redwood City has a handful of donut shops but Donut Depot make you feel warm a cozy! Its not the prettiest donut shop to look at nor is the parking a breeze but the pastries are always fresh, the owners are the funniest most hospitable people I have ever come across! Located off of Middlefield Rd between unincorporated Redwood City and Menlo Park the donut shop is located in quite urban plaza. Parking is definately difficult on busy mornings so be patient because the donuts are defiantly worth it if you happen to be in the area. Lately I have had a bit of an issue with donut shops charging $2-$5 per donut!!! I love me some donuts but it's becoming a pricy habit (insert sad face) but Donut Depot has one go the most reasonable prices to keep my sweet-tooth-donut-devouring-habit going with out breaking the bank! I am not kidding the owners will treat you like they know you for years and will always hook you up with extra donut holes. I stopped by for an early stop and found a very crowded parking lot with some patrons double parked picking up donuts. The inside was just as busy with numerous customers enjoying coffee, donuts and croissants at the early hour. My order: Apple Fritter - large, deep fried Apple Fritter that was sweet and chewy. Not much Apple but I've resigned myself to the fact that very few places have the amount of Apple I want. Donut holes - ordered half a dozen and the owners kindly threw in 9 or so. Very soft but the donut holes were cold and a bit too soft as if they hadn't been fried long enough. I was surprised that they didn't taste fresher given the early hour. Overall, Donut Depot is a typical donut shop and popular with the early morning crowds. Prices are friendly and I was tempted by the ham and cheese croissant but in a hurry to go. I've never been to the actual shop but my brother had donuts from here delivered on my birthday. We got a nice assortment of donuts and bars and they were all delicious. I guess they weren't able to fulfill the order with all the requested flavors so they threw in a few extra goodies to make up for it. Came here at 7am during the work week to grab two dozen donuts as a gift, and the owner was patient enough to work with me to customize the donut variety (choosing how many apple fritters vs. cake donuts vs. chocolate or plain can be tough!!). $14 for a dozen mixed is very affordable. He also threw in a couple of free donuts and a bag of donut holes on the house, which seems consistent with what I've seen in other reviews. The place was clean, looked like there were a few regulars, and they had other options including bagel sandwiches and croissants. Parking wasn't really an issue because I came in the morning -- there's maybe 10 spots in the lot total but a few safe options in the residential area nearby -- but the owner mentioned that you can call ahead to order and park illegally in the lot if just doing a quick pickup. Overall I would definitely come back, I missed having a "homey" donut shop nearby like I frequented in SF. read more
