So today I had an appointment across the street at the Menlo Park V.A. medical center. I was hungry and rolled the dice & tried this little donut shop. I noticed they had a great breakfast menu, so I went with the breakfast burrito. Their breakfast burrito was a BANGER!! Really good breakfast burrito, with some really good homemade salsa in it. Got a couple donuts for my kids & they said the donuts were good. I found a new spot for a quick breakfast whenever I'm in Menlo Park!! Lady working/Business owner would not provide cup of water, despite frequently going in and being able to get a cup of water along with purchasing something. The lady suggested I buy a bottle of water instead, out of the normal routine of just being able to get a cup of water. Side note I've spent a very minimum of $500 plus at this location. Excellent little family owned donut shop, which sells more than donuts! I stopped by after passing this place for months. I love the little donut shops more than chain places. Great fast service! First time stopped by to get some donuts. They looked great but didnt taste as though they were fully cooked/baked. The glazed donuts were a bit mushy on the inside. Gave it a 2nd try today. We got a breakfast special (pancakes, eggs, hash browns and choice of meat) $14 and a breakfast sandwich (croissant, egg and meat). The scrambled eggs had a grayish tinge to them and didn't taste like eggs. Hash-browns weren't fully cooked and the croissants were undercooked. Really disappointed. Seriously you guys I have never had an apple fritter this good. My sister-in-law is eight months pregnant and this is just about the only thing she craves and only from this location. They are sooooo crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. It's insane. The other donuts are good too! Lots of selection and variety. The location is fine; a lot of vets from the hospital across the street, some local people on their way to construction jobs (judging by the dress code). I visit this donut shop at least twice a week and some weeks up to 4 times. They are great. They have a full menu of breakfast and lunch items that are made fresh to order in their kitchen. The menu is diner typical with heavy Mexican cuisine influence. I always get the breakfast burrito nowadays. Ham, bacon, eggs and cheese and their house salsa is great too. I've had the churizo burrito as well and its just as good. The only issue is the portion size. The burritos are average priced if not slightly over, but the volume of the burrito is on the small side. I always order an extra egg which bumps the cost up a buck and a half. Wah wah. The donuts and pastries are super tasty and fresh as well. I'm not sure if its the ingredients or what but they always taste much fresher than other places. The selection isnt spectacular or anything. Just your average donut catalog I guess. But the quality stands out. So, it may be hard to understand how I can give a place that I visit at least 3 times a week less than 5 stars but ill try to explain. More than a few times, I've gotten my food and discovered my order to be wrong. They will charge me for extras only to leave them out. Its upsetting, and it happens too often for me to give this place 5 stars. But if it wasn't for that, then I'd give them a perfect score. This place is pretty good. We were in the area, waiting for our food so we walked in to Donut Delite to get some donuts. Since it was lunch time, they had limited selection. We got a crumb donut, maple bar, chocolate almond, and a chocolate cake donut. All were pretty good and chewy. Prices were a bit high. Even though half a dozen is $8, that's only for basic donuts which are like only glazed. If you want a chocolate donut, that's an extra 80 cents or something. Eesh! The Bavarian cream chocolate bars and donuts are the bomb! The donut itself is light and fluffy and the cream to donut ratio is just right. I'm not a huge fan of the munchkins, they tasted a bit greasy to me. Today I tried a lemon filled donut it was good but I will stick with the cream filled. My hubby got a cinnamon roll it was huge, he seemed to enjoy it. He offered me a bite but I was too full already, so I will take his word for it that it was good.
