I had an okay experience. I stopped by one day when visiting friends in the area. It's very cutesy with the pink flower wall and other pink-accented decor. It looked quite clean inside. They had a few tables and chairs inside and outside should you choose to stay to enjoy your drinks and mochi donuts. The pink wall and decor makes it a very Instagram-friendly backdrop. Ordering was easy enough: there are 2 kiosks at the front as soon as you walk into the shop. There's no need to actually talk to any of the staff. They weren't particularly friendly, but they also weren't rude. They were just there, minding their business, which was a welcomed change because I had already been feeling overstimulated after visiting with a lot of people. I ordered the Strawberry Green Tea with no toppings. The sweetness level couldn't be adjusted. So it was a tad bit too sweet for my liking, but it was still okay. I did end up diluting it a little bit with water when there was enough room in the cup. I wanted to try a mochi donut, but decided against it because they didn't have flavors that I wanted to try. This is a cute boba shop with mochi donuts on Lytton Avenue in Palo Alto. You order via a touchscreen inside. The menu was very clear and easy to read. They had a sign warning that their drinks were on the sweeter side. With that in mind, I tried the roasted oolong milk tea with boba at 0% sugar. I guess the brown sugar boba is incredibly sweet because the drink tasted almost like most shops' 30% to 50% sugar. The drink I got was also incredibly creamy and milky to the point that it kind of tasted like light chocolate milk to me. Boba was okay, on the sweeter side but not that chewy. My spouse got the black milk tea with konjac jelly at 25% sweetness. That drink tasted much more watery than mine, weirdly, and not as sweet as my drink. I thought the jelly was ok but I don't ever get that topping. I think we are a bit mixed on this shop. We might need to try other drinks at some point. Drinks were served quickly though! read more

I've walked past this Bober tea location a few times and when they first opened, the decor was really cute outside! It's looking a little run down now but it's still easy to spot from the street. My brother and I stopped by on Sunday and both got milk tea. I had the jasmine milk tea with boba and he had the thai tea. They were both fine, definitely better than somewhere like Quickly but the quality wasn't as high as somewhere like Teaspoon. For a mid-range quality boba drink spot, it was fine, although maybe a little overpriced. The inside has some cute Instagram-worthy photo backgrounds, and the staff members were nice and let us know that they were about to box up the mochi donuts for Too Good to Go, so they asked if we wanted to order any before they did that. Overall, I wouldn't go running back just because of the quality, but it's a good spot if you're crazing boba and nearby. read more

The Signature Milk Tea: Loved the pageantry of "stir fried boba" and brûléed sugar on top. I don't think it influences the flavor much, but it was sure fun to watch. Lots of brown sugar syrup on the side gave it a great flavor. Mango Fruit Tea w/ Passionfruit Boba: A ton of mango bits! Like seriously, almost like drinking a fruit salad which I'm all about. The popping passionfruit exploded with a nice tangy juice. However, there was so much real fruit going on here, it seemed a bit extra. Taro Latte: One of the few caffeine-free options, so a good choice if the day is getting late but you still want a fix. Taro plus milk makes a such a creamy treat! Can you believe this is my 1st Bober Tea experience? This also wasn't my last as I went to the Sunnyvale location a few days later lol. Bober Tea has over the top decor with lots of pink candy hearts, flowers, mochi decor and so much more. I love it! I was taking pictures with almost every background. I felt like a kid in a boba shop. Oh, I was in a boba shop, I totally forgot. Ordering is easy with the kiosk and you can take your time selecting your toppings, cups and anything else. I ordered the strawberry smoothie with the cheese topping in a special cup. The cup was cute and it is reusable as well. Strawberry smoothie is standard and is a bit on the sweeter side but mixing the cheese foam in, helped knock it down. I would come back to try the other drinks in the area but there are closer locations of Bober Tea near me in Sunnyvale and Campbell now. I went a few weeks back around the time they recently opened to try the mung bean pandan latte, mostly because this was such an unique sounding drink. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the drink as I could taste both the mung bean and pandan flavor. What I didn't like was the grainy texture of the drink...probably as a result of the mung bean unfortunately and I wish it could have been a smoother drink. I also was not a fan of how sweet the drink was without any option to adjust for sweetness and also the loads of ice that was in the drink without any option to adjust for ice level. I took out a good chunk of the ice which left seriously half the cup worth of drink and let the residual ice dilute the sweetness. Boba was solid, wish there was more. Mochi donuts were average, good flavor but not as chewy or mochi-esque as other places. May return and give it another shot if you can adjust sweetness and ice level. read more

My mom and I were looking for a boba spot while we were on our way back to SJ and saw this place and decided to try it out. The place itself is very pink and cute, perfect for aesthetic pictures but the drinks itself was very disappointing. I had got the banana matcha which claims is "house made" but after trying it I could definitely tell the banana was super artificial and I just did not like it at all. I would have loved to take some pictures here, but unfortunately, I wasn't looking done up that day. Lol You can order through their kiosk, which I did. I got the jasmine milk tea with boba. I got my drink pretty quickly as there was only one person there when I walked in, and he was getting his drink right then. The drink looked pretty with the cute cat ears lid and bubblegum pink straw. Although, I did have a hard time stabbing my drink as the tip of the straw was kind of bent. :/ The drink was completely filled with ice. Now I do like ice, but this was way too much. There wasn't an option to choose your ice level on the kiosk; only able to choose the sweetness. I chose 100% which is my norm. Upon sipping the drink, I was hit with a crazy level of sugar. I try to stir my drink, but it was very hard to stir when there was sooo much ice taking up space. After stirring it a bit, it tasted better. They have stir fried boba, which was more hard and chewy. It was okay; not my fave. If I were to go again, I would get a different drink without the boba and to take some pictures with the decorations. read more

Newish boba place in downtown Palo Alto. The decor is very instagrammable but not exactly cozy or welcoming. Outdoor seating is plentiful, indoor just has a leaning bar meant as a waiting area. Ordering is done at a kiosk with minimal interaction with the cashier/barista. I got the oolong milk tea with boba added - base prices are quite high here as has become usual in the bay (~$6) so my total came out to about $7. I didn't see an option for ice either, so I did get quite a fair amount of ice in my drink. The boba was good but the tea was fairly lacking - weak tea flavor and a very strong taste from the creamer they used since that was the only other flavor in the drink. It's beaming in cute pink decor both inside and outside the shop, with a bunch of photo ops to enjoy. I ordered the Pink Haze Vietnamese coffee with the stir fried boba. This is a sweet and creamy drink that I needed to help me power through the day. The boba is very sweet and chewy with an almost molasses-like taste. The pink cream layered on top of the sweetened coffee makes the drink really cute too. The 10 YEN cheese coin was amazing. If you're a cheese lover you need to get this. They can make their fruit tea into smoothies with whipped cream on top. Another special thing is the butterfly they put in the drink is eatable. I tasted, it was like sugar paper. my work ordered bober tea from sunnyvale and i liked it so i visited the palo alto location when i was craving boba. all of their locations' decor is very maximalist and over the top hahaha but if you're into that you can take some pictures. i ordered on a kiosk and my drink was ready in 5 minutes. // classic black milk tea (less ice, 25% sweet) $5.60 // i didn't get boba but under $6 for milk tea is a pretty good deal nowadays (rip). i like the flavor of their black tea and the drink itself is creamy/milk tea. i've had the boba before too and it's good but nothing crazy. they have a good assortment of other drinks too (fruit tea, vietnamese coffee) and mochi donuts. 25% sweet is also good and not too sweet for me. i would revisit bober tea again! read more

A really cute spot to pick up some yummy drinks and mochi donuts! Their tea was pretty good and the stir fried boba was nice and chewy. I would get less sugar since their boba is already sweet. The mochi donut was also a really nice texture. I had initially come specifically for their cheese yen and had even messaged their IG to confirm if they had it everyday. When I went, though, they told me they didn't have it anymore which was dissapointing since I travelled from the city via public transport. I didn't notice any indication of dates for limited time notices either (even the ordering screen said "now available"), so I would definitely recommend also calling to check for any specific items too. More of a modern take on boba here when it comes to the flavor of drinks, lots of interesting combos I usually don't see elsewhere, lacking tea flavor too.
