Second time I come here this week! The bagels are yummy! I ended up trying the bacon, egg and cheese on everything bagel (I added lettuce). It did not disappoint, so much that I came back the next day for seconds. I also tried the chocolate frosted donut and it was delicious, soft and can tell it was made fresh for the day. They do have a few tables if you like to enjoy your meal in house and plenty of drink and other food choices. Because, everything is made to order, expect to wait a bit while it is being prepared. I found this place on the way to work , you know when you're really craving donuts Lol Luckily this place isn't cash only but they have a card minimum, I always bring cash anyways. The donuts are delicious! You can tell by the taste that these donuts are made fresh daily. My favorite is the chocolate bar. I've also tried #3 croissant sandwich and it is so good. I have only been here maybe like 5 times and each time I go there it is a WOW experience!! I was at DONUT INN on 3/12/2023. I have been to so many donut shops in my life, but nothing can top this place off. If I am in the area and feel like I want to eat a donut or drink one of their smoothies/bobas/ coffees, or even have a egg, turkey, ham and cheese bagel, croissant sandwich... this is my go to place. Everything always tastes delicious and very FRESH!! The place is nice and spotless clean, however the owners can be a little more nicer and patient and NOT rush you. The place is usually empty and they still rush you. I am NOT going to duck a star for the customer service, but it would be nice for them to be more pleasant, nice, and patient. And I am NOT hard to please. I know exactly what I want and that is exactly what I get. read more

Seriously, THE BEST Donuts in the Valley. Light, fluffy, always fresh, that perfect yeasty dough that has a slight crispy crunch with an airy moist interior. Local donut shop in the area and I have to say it's my to go place for croissants sandwiches. Their ingredients are fresh. Lettuce and tomato are always crunchy. This place is open! Not sure why Yelp has it listed as closed. This is take out only as the tables have been stacked up and moved out of the way. I had a great Thai iced tea, a ham, egg and cheese on fresh croissant and a sugar raised donut. Everything was super fresh and the lady was quick to help and efficient in getting all the orders out the door. There was a short wait to get served but that was because it was minimally staffed and people were getting a number of items from the menu. Came back again for boba. What I was served was pretty bad. The bobas where stale, like I couldn't chew them at all. I've had 100s maybe thousands of boba drinks from everywhere. Never experience this. Besides that, there was ice chips not fully blended in. So you have a bunch of ice chips coming through the straw, when it's supposed to be smooth. I've had boba here maybe half a dozen times. Always made by a women. This time is was a guy. That's all it takes. One time you mess with my food or drink and I'm done with you. So convenient and close to my house that I wish it was even average. It's not. Though the proprietors - a middle aged man and woman who work very hard - are amicable, their product is simply subpar. Donuts don't seem like a food that can be sullied, but Donut Inn has found a way to make them woefully dry, stale and unfulfilling. Whether its glazed, buttermilk or old-fashioned you crave, their consistency is remarkable; each creation is lackluster. The coffee is fine and the bear claw is barely passable, so if you're hungover you do have that option. Otherwise, head five blocks in any direction and find a superior donut. Oh yeah - that sign that says "24 Hours" is not referring to the time they're open. They usually stop serving around 8pm. On the positive side, they just purchased a yogurt machine from the now-defunct Yogurt Delite in the same shopping center, so there's that. read more

I would highly recommend finding another donut shop to go to, I went there this morning with my son and I bought him a sprinkle doughnut along with a chocolate milk. I paid with a $20 bill and they gave me back a counterfeit $10 bill along with the rest of my change. Me not knowing that it was counterfeit, took it to a gas station and had them threaten that they were going to call the police and what I was doing was illegal even though I had no clue that the money was counterfeit. Upon calling Donut Inn, the woman was very unhelpful, unprofessional and pretty much told me to stick it and that it was not her problem. This little mom and pop shop has the BEST & freshest donuts in town! The Apple fritter is perfectly glazed and crispy on the outside while fluffy and warm on this inside. I gave this place 2 stars because I've gone there a lot, but I'm done. I'm finding another place. The donuts have never been great and the last ham & cheese croissant I ate made me sick. I frequented this place mainly because it was around the corner from where I live. My issues were as follows. 1. Customer service is lacking. In all the time I've gone there I've dealt with only 2 people. An older asian lady who barely speaks to you in a mumble or makes eye contact( kind of like talking to Rainman). Not very personable but at least she gets your order right. Then there's an older asian gentleman, I think her husband, who does talk to you but doesn't listen to you when you order so he keeps getting it wrong. 2. Donut selection and quality are both poor. Sure you can you can get a giant donut there but then a regular disappoinment just becomes a giant disappointment. 3. The expiration date on some of the milk and juices they serve is sometimes expired. In all fairness they will point this out before selling it to you. Therefore the choice is yours. But why the hell are you still selling it? That's pretty much it. They're not the worst but they're far from the best. It's not like I hate this place but I'm sure there is better in the area and I look forward to finding it. I'm a donut junkie and I need my fix. read more

So I've passed by here ever since I was a little kid. ---------------- LOCATION ---------------- It's on the literal edge of Sherman Oaks & Valley glen, with Magnolia and Coldwater being the Northernmost and Easternmost streets of Sherman Oaks. It's located inside a small corner strip mall of about 5-6 shops. The interior of this place is pretty old. The ceiling looks bad / falling apart / stained... however there's a bunch of old posters and news clippings of this donut store being in quite a few movies... though it looks like from back in the 70's and 80's. ------------------ THE GOODS ------------------ The donuts here are whatever. Definately better options nearby. They do have some interesting looking jumbo donuts but for the most part the 5-10 I've tried have been standard C-quality donuts. ~ MAPLE GLAZED - This is the only donut that stood out. I like glazed donuts and I also like MAPLE ICING so I tried this one and really liked it. The two MAPLE GLAZED donuts I've tried at other places since... haven't been as good. (4/5) ------------------------------------- AND THE SURVEY SAYS... ------------------------------------- Pass on this place. It "IS" open 24 hours but just drive down to USA DONUTS one block over on FULTON+BURBANK for a better 24-hour donut store option. We blame ourselves, really: we went to a run-down donut shop for boba. But, we often pass this place on our way home, and it's the closest boba place to us, so we decided we had to at least give it a try. So we gave it a try: two thai iced tea bobas. We waited in the stark interior of the shop, reading the faded posters, while the man behind the counter made our drinks. Unfortunately, even though he made them while we waited, the boba in both of them was stale. Bummer. I guess anything is worth trying once, but once was enough for us. My mother and i stopped in waiting for a place to open up. We both tried the sugar donuts. Wow. The dough is so lighty and fluffy it will have you wondering if you really did just eat a whole donut. And the most surpring part was that the sugar had not absorbed into the dough. The only "questionable" thing i noticed was that the case where the donuts are contained does not have a back/doors so if theres a fly, guess what just got contaminated. They also have special pricing for large orders of donuts and parking really can suck. So in conclusion donuts are good, just pray there arent any flies. read more

Definitely a fan. The reason for the four (and not five) stars is I wish that they had more flavors and options for their doughnuts, which really are just so moist and soft. These might be the best doughnuts I've ever had. All I get are simple sugar ones and that's all that I need because they're so unbelievably good. They serve croissant and bagel sandwiches, boba drinks and smoothies as well but it's all about the deep-fried sweeties for me. The service is also excellent. The smallest bagel ever!!!! When she asked if I want only one bagel I thought it's a joke ( but you probably need 2 or 3 of them) They charged me 4$ and 0.50 cent for charging my credit. Doesn't taste good and I needed to ask few time for napkins. Not good experience. read more

I'm squeezing out a three star review because I think they sometimes are pretty good. In order to make ends meet, the owners try to do too much. Donuts, croissants, sandwiches, etc. Coffee is fresh and usually decent. But donuts are not made fresh every day and sometimes they are very low on product. I've been going there three times a week for two months and they still don't acknowledge me as a regular or anticipate my unchanging order. read more

This place is super close to a buddy's house, so I've visited it on many occasions. Every time, I hope that the donuts will be better than the last time, and they're not. Their cake donut, always a good indicator of a place's overall quality, is poor. The glazed is average at best. The selection is measly and their hours are erratic. Often the sign will say 'open' at night but there will be nobody there. Adding to the general feeling of malaise is an an unused bizarre pedestrian side-window facing Coldwater. On the plus side, the apple fritter and bear claw are pretty good and my buddy swears by the maple bar. Giant donuts and maple bars are a go to here! As with most "mom & pop" shops there are gonna be some freshness issues here and there but this place is great most of the time.
