Been going here for 20 years! FINALLY snapped some pictures to write a review. You step into this charming little, beautifully decorated cafe and are immediately transported to Portugal! The people working there are always just wonderful and the food is DELICIOUS!!! It's ALWAYS good!! It's very popular amongst the locals so the parking can be tough in the lot but there's lots of street parking around. The scramble was perfectly cooked and the breakfast sandwich is beautiful and YUMMY! Of course, the pastries are AMAZING!! When we were there for breakfast there was a sign for a complimentary Portuguese pastry and a glass of wine from Portugal with dinner! We'll GO back!!!

Updated review: the owner reached out to me after my last experience where some of the pastries tasted stale, so I came back to try it again. This time, the natas tasted much more fresh, and the chocolate peanut one was my favorite. The plain nata is also very tasty and this time the crust had great lamination and a nice crunch. The owner is also very nice, I'm glad I came back

This bakery is amongst the best. 5 years ago had the pleasure of having their food delivered but today was extra special as we came here to have natas and bola de Berlin. The staff was incredibly kind and the ice coffee, like the pastries was absolutely delicious. Fantastic place and I will be coming back as often as possible. The ambiance is that of Portugal and you feel taken away for a while. It's great

A slice of heaven. I've been coming here for seven years and it reminds me so much of Lisbon. It's like a little corner of Portugal instead of the hectic hubbub of LA. The owners are so hands on and warm, there's something about every bite feeling homemade. Still my favorite way to treat myself! thanks Natas Pastries!

The vibe is very cute, rustic and teleports you to a small cafe in Portugal with the artisan tiles throughout the space and the charming light fixtures. The sandwiches were OK. I really liked the side salad that they came with and the potato chips. My partner and I didn't love the food here but it wasn't bad.. The portions were large and we both had leftovers! A lot of value in lunch items. I think the bakery was the all star. We ordered a few of the parties and the Nutella with almonds on top of the custard was to absolutely die for. I wish I could eat 10 in one sitting because of how silly and luxurious it tasted. I was a little disappointed in the coffee. I feel like it was rushed and not really apart of their specialty services. I really enjoyed our server, he was very sweet and soft spoken with a lot of compassion and friendliness. I wish I remembered his name but he gave me cool goth vibes! I found the menu to be a little difficult to navigate since it was a little overwhelming but that's perfectly OK. I'd come back for pastries.

This amazing little Portuguese Cafe is a hidden gem in Sherman Oaks. I had no idea it had been here for 20 years until I popped in last weekend to buy a few pastries and spoke to the owner Fatima. The place was packed! Everyone was chatting and enjoying themselves. The inside is small with an adorable area off to the side with a few tables. Very quaint and romantic. My pastries were delicious! I plan on going back soon for a sit down meal. *Only opened on the weekends ~ Friday - Sunday: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM *Parking is limited in the lot - Plenty of street parking

Absolutely loved Natas Pastries! The food was incredible--everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The service was just as great: friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Such a gem in Sherman Oaks. Can't wait to come back and try more!

My wonderful sister in law found this place. We came in with my wife and her; loved it. We will surely come back.

Natas Pastries is real deal Portuguese cafe/bakery option in the San Fernando Valley. If I want to impress friends and family with PASTEIS DE NATA (Portuguese custard tarts), I come here. Besides baked goods, they also offer a whole menu all day from breakfast to lunch;and dinner items. The cafe is OPEN Fridays through Sundays from : 9am-9pm ONLY!! Service is friendly and the cafe is cute. Parking can be found on street and residential parking.

What an unforgettable evening at Natas Pastries. Last night's surprise dinner was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Fatima, the owner, is a truly wonderful person--warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making every second special. She turned our evening into a memorable experience we will always cherish. The food was exceptional, the service flawless, and the authenticity of the cuisine was outstanding. From the ambiance to the décor, you truly feel transported straight to Portugal. The wine selection was fantastic, and the cake was simply incredible. Natas Pastries is more than a restaurant--it's an experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for excellent food, heartfelt hospitality, and a beautiful atmosphere.

I returned to this delightful restaurant and pastry shop after five years and was elated to find that the quality, decor and warm service have all remained as exceptional as ever! A display of freshly baked French and Portugese pastries welcomes and traps you in! An intimate small and authentically decorated Portuguese style dinning area transports me each time to my several trips to Lisbon and countryside coffee shops..... it's hard to leave once the rapture of Natas takes over. As a longtime fan of Natas for over fifteen years, I've always admired their fresh pastries and this morning's visit reminded me why. We revsited this charming and quaint spot for breakfast and were impressed. Their menu offers a full selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner options; we indulged in their sweet nutella crepes and crunchy French toast. The portions were generous and each dish beautifully prepared. The French toast was perfectly crisp on the outside, soft inside and drizzled with maple and vanilla cream sauce.... a combination that hit every note of indulgence. What truly stood out was the abundence of fresh seasonal fruit; not just a garnish, but a plentiful compliment to the dish, making each bite balanced and refreshing. The Nutella crepe, while a bit thicker in texture than the traditional delicate style, was rich and satisfying with a generous spread of Nutella that made it a satisfying meal. To top it off, both the Americano and iced coffee were strong, aromatic and just what we needed to start the morning right. Few things compare to the comfort of a piping hot, perfectly brewed coffee alongside a sweet breakfast in such a cozy and welcoming setting. Natas remains a timeless favorite; a perfect blend of comfort, consistency and charm that makes you want to return again and again.

NATAS PASTRIES make absolutely mouthwatering datas!!! Real custard inside the flakiest, and shockingly sturdy, pastry. The custard did not taste egg-y. There was no line to get in nor a line to order. It was easy and fast to order and get our natas. You can dine in or take out.

love the slew of traditional portuguese food options as a cafe in the front and more meal options in the back great place great service

Do you have gluten-free options available?

Yes we do both for pastries and or food options. Please call us anytime for more information. We're OPEN Fridays through Sundays 9am-9pm

Any plans to open the restaurant on other days of the week? Please?

Unfortunately we are not planning to open any other days at this time. We hope to see you on the weekends;)

Are you guys going to be open early for the Portugal World Cup Game in December 2nd? They play at 7am.

More of a recommendation than an question, but would absolutely love if, on Fridays, you could open at 8am? I'm a parent at Dixie Canyon Elementary and drop off is at 8:10. It would be so great if we could stop by after we drop off the kids. Thanks!

Hello J I am very sorry but unfortunately we are not going to officially change our schedule but all my staff is normally there by 8am. I will ask them to open the door for you guys. I hope this works, thank you

The steak tartare was bright, acidic, perfectly balanced and it's paired with sweet potato chips.. I had to take a moment! SO. GEWD. The bacalhau fritters was another favorite of mine. Crisp outside, soft inside, salty in the best way. Ask for extra lemons to brighten it further and thank me later. The head on prawns were so well seasoned and beautifully cooked and the sauce? Divine. I would bathe in it. The french fries were perfect but the lemon parsley aioli they came with is the real main character and I will not hear otherwise. Aioli of my dreams. Literally. Caipirinha with port float and Rosa margarita were both giving. Bolo do caco and boquerones also ate. Service was a little cold to start but warmed up as the night went on, and they ended the meal by surprising us with bubbles for our anniversary which was the sweetest thing. Pricey but worth every single penny. Date night, anniversary, or some other special occasion, this is your spot.

A friend and I went to Barra Santos for dinner on a Wednesday night and grabbed seats at the bar…read more Our server was fantastic and gave us such great recommendations on the appetizers that we decided to skip the traditional main-course route and make an entire dinner out of small plates. Barra Santos is a small space, and it was packed when we were there. Sitting at the bar put us right in the middle of the action, and the close quarters gave the room a lively, cozy feel. They also have outdoor seating in front of the restaurant if you prefer a little more space. We started with Maria's Bacalhau Fritters, made with salt cod, potato, and caramelized onion. They came out crisp on the outside and tender inside with lemon on the side. We also tried one of the specials that night, the croquetes, which was a fun addition to the meal. The Summer Melon Salad was easily one of my favorites of the night. The sweetness of the melon was such a good complement to all of the savory dishes we were ordering. With hazelnuts, charred halloumi, and a basil-cilantro vinaigrette, it was refreshing without feeling like an afterthought. We also tried the Endive Salad with oranges, almonds, cheese, cilantro, and a sherry and smoked paprika vinaigrette. The Linguiça Spiced Meatballs had plenty of flavor, although the meatballs themselves were smaller than I expected when the dish arrived. The Sautéed Calamari Toast was another favorite. The squid tasted fresh, was cooked really well, and had a great texture. Between the chili oil sofrito and the charred bread underneath, the whole dish was packed with flavor. I really enjoyed trying Barra Santos this way because ordering several appetizers gave us a chance to experience a good portion of the menu. One thing worth keeping in mind is the portion size relative to the price. Most of the appetizers we ordered were around $20 or more, and the plates lean smaller, which can add up quickly when you're building an entire dinner out of them. I enjoyed what we ordered, but it's something I'd keep in mind when deciding how many dishes to get. Parking in the neighborhood can also take a little patience. I ended up finding a spot a couple of blocks away (definitely give yourself a few extra minutes rather than expecting to park right in front). I'd definitely be up for coming back and trying some of the mains next time. The Piri Piri Chicken already has my attention.

Meu Deus... que comida maravilhosa! Aqui a fome entra, mas não sai viva!…read more Translation: "My God... what amazing food! Hunger walks in here, but it doesn't make it out alive!" Kravings Fusion in Tarzana gave us way more than dinner last night -- it was basically a mini trip to Brazil without having to explain anything to TSA. The rodízio-style service was on point. The meats and proteins just kept coming around like they had a personal mission to make sure nobody left hungry. We had juicy sirloin, ribeye, salmon, beautifully prepared wrapped steaks, chicken, and more coming straight to the table. Every time I thought, "Alright, I'm done," another server would walk by holding something sizzling and suddenly my stomach found a new storage compartment. The ribeye was rich and flavorful, the sirloin was tender, the chicken was juicy, and I really appreciated the salmon being in the rotation too. It gave me the opportunity to pretend I was making healthy decisions in between several rounds of steak. And then Kravings decided FOOD WASN'T ENOUGH. Two Brazilian dancers came out and put on a full-on Rio Carnaval-style show with the costumes, music, dancing, energy and all. The whole restaurant came alive. For a minute there I forgot I was sitting in Tarzana and started wondering when the parade float was coming through. Great food, fun atmosphere, nonstop rodízio meats, fantastic entertainment and an experience that actually feels like a night out instead of just another dinner. Come hungry. Wear stretchy pants. And when someone asks if you want more meat... The answer is SIM! Kravings Fusion definitely lived up to the name , because now I'm Kraving it again.

Vaca Spanish restaurant, in Costa Mesa, is conveniently located right next to the Segerstrom Center…read morefor the Arts, and has moderately priced valet parking. We sat at the bar while waiting for our table, and were greeted by a friendly, knowledgeable bar tender, who recommended items from the tapas menu. We requested, and were seated at, a quiet table in the back patio. The wait staff and service was friendly, professional, and outstanding. We ordered tapas, and loved every bite, from the Papas Brava and Bikini Sandwich to the Panza de Cerdo. These three tapas were more than enough for the two of us. They were filling, delicious, and did not disappoint. We topped it all off with tastes of Vaca's homemade flan and almond paste cake. DELICIOUS! But Vaca is also an expensive high-end steak and Iberian ham restaurant, with every cut of expertly aged beef and Spanish Iberian cured ham imaginable. All in all, Vaca is a great moderately priced tapas and paella restaurant, and also it is an expensive premium steak/ham restaurant. We think you'll enjoy the ambiance, service and most of all, the food. We give it our high recommendation.

What a fabulous place to celebrate a birthday!…read more We were in the area to see a show at the Segerstrom theatre and Vaca is literally a 4 minute walk away. Which worked out for us since we were able to use the restaurants valet service and leave our car there until after the show. As soon as we walked in, I was in awe of how cool the place looked! The bar located near the front door was very inviting and definitely made me want to go back just to sit there for a couple of cocktails. Speaking of cocktails, their signature, The Vaca Tonic was my favorite cocktail that I tried. It's refreshing, pretty and definitely had me ordering a second one. They have a variety of spirits to choose from, but the Gin cocktails were definitely my favorite. For dinner, my husband and I choose the Tapas route and order a few plates to share. The Carpaccio, Gambas Al Ajillo(sautéed shrimp) and the La Bola(upscale version of potato balls) were my favorite dishes. This isn't to say that our other plates weren't delicious, I'm just saying these plates left me wanting more. Last but not least, we ended the night with a slice of their Basque Cheesecake, and oh my goodness, this had to be hands down, one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. I was so full, but there was no way we were leaving any piece of the cheesecake uneaten. Now, this restaurant is more on the pricey side. But, I would 100% recommend to try once or make it a priority to check out when you have a special occasion to celebrate!
