Great service and great food. I come here for the sandwiches. Favorites are croissant subs and breakfast sandwiches. So good and fresh. Breakfast sandwiches come with eggs, cheese, and choice of meat. Subs come in a variety of meats with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions. Add on include avocado, bacon, jalapeño, and other condiments. The subs are pretty huge. They also have fresh juices (really good) made on the spot, premade ass well if you're in a hurry, with your choice of veggies and fruits. The bobas are great too! Highly recommend for a snack or a meal. read more

Best donuts in the area. And looky, NO ONE knows about this place!!! These are your traditional L.A. mini-mall donuts, but just done really well. They used to be open until 11 p.m. and donuts came fresh out of the oven every night... but now they close at 6. As a diabetic, Yelp can be quite problematic for my health. Sure I could go out and review a salad bar or something but there are nights when I pass by something like The Donut Factory and just had to try it. I'll probably die a lot sooner than I should, but places like this make life worth living. It's your typical donut shop. Nothing fancy about it. The place actually looks modern...if it were the early 90s. There's nothing really aesthetically pleasing about it, but then again you're not here for the ambiance. It's not a Starbucks or Panera Bread, just get your donuts and go. The donuts are your typical fried dough balls of goodness. I was lucky enough to stop by when a fresh batch was made. It's moist and soft; flaky and chewy; tender and light. Everything you'd want from a donut. The best part is the morning after factor. Even when its several hours old, it still tasted just as good. It would be great to go with some coffee, but I couldn't wait for a pot to brew. What about the morning after the first morning factor? I wouldn't know because it never got to that point. Sure you can have some krispy kremes or some dunkin donuts but nothing beats a huge, fluffy donut that comes in a big pink box. read more

I gave this place a couple chances because it's convenient to my morning commute, and I'm pregnant and donuts are my weakness. The first time I went in the woman behind the counter wasn't friendly at all. In fact, she was so unpleasant I almost didn't go back. I asked for a decaf coffee and she grumpily said the pot was empty. When I asked if she could make more, considering it IS an item on their menu and I'm a paying customer, she flat out said "No!" as though I was inconveniencing her by this request. Whatever. Cut to a couple weeks later, I gave it another try. This time there was a different woman behind the counter, and she was at least nice to me. Got home with my deliciously somewhat stale donuts (it was the afternoon so I gave them the benefit of the doubt for that)... About halfway through my chocolate bar, I bit down on a foreign object and pulled an inch and a half of hard plastic out of my mouth. It appeared to have been cooked inside the donut. Open Christmas Day! Hallelujah! I recently rediscovered my love for donuts - how could I forget in my youth I actually gave up donuts for lent?! Christmas day we were driving around looking for something that was open and being that I live in a predominately Jewish neighborhood I was praying something tasty would be open. I had passed by The Donut Factory a handful of times but never stopped in. Finally, on Christmas Day I say the glowing "OPEN" sign and was beyond elated. The man working the shop was the sweetest guy. Not sure if he's this sweet all the time or was eager for a tip but I didn't care - bless him it was the holidays and he was working. I ordered a few donuts and holes and he even gave me a few extra when he realized I tipped him. I like this place because it's close to my apartment. However every single time I go in for boba I stand in there for a few minutes until I yell "hello" to the workers in the back. I know they are watching TV as I hear them shouting at whatever sport is on. Boba is ok and price is great. Large for $4. Never tried pastries but they look good. read more

I walked in this morning at 8:05AM to buy a cup of coffee. Once inside, I stood behind four customers as the guy behind the counter had his back to us and was watching a TV on the back wall. I decided to wait 2-minutes to see if he'd acknowledge the customers right behind him. After those 2-minutes, nothing changed. I walked out without ever being noticed. Originally I had it at a 2-star review... but now I'm upping it to a 3. I was picking my brother and his friends up from high school and on the way home dropping them off we stopped here. My brother got a GLAZED TWIST BAR and I took a bite of it and it was AMAZEEEENG! Went back a coupla days ago to buy myself a whole GLAZED TWIST BAR to see if I'd been hallucinating and it was indeed the BEST one I'd ever had. I tried it at 2 other donuts shops and there's wasn't as good as the one here. Conversely... I tried 2 other donuts here at Donut Factory this week and they were subpar. GET THE GLAZED TWIST BAR if you do come here though... Oh yeah... bonus points for cheap donuts. $.70 - $.75-cents each :-) read more

Surprised by the negative reviews. Have been going to this place regularly for years and find their food and drinks great, low prices and friendly service. They also have absolutely the best breakfast burrito in LA - their A8 with or without jalapeño. Kids like the boba - much cheaper than boba places - and you can't go wrong with their donuts. read more

This place has so much potential.... it looks like it can make some fantastic food, but below are what need to be worked on: - Cash Only, seriously? Your losing a lot of customers cause of that. - Service, as nice as our cashier was, I asked for a strawberry boba not a strawberry milkshake with boba... if she didn't know she should have asked me... but it was good anyways. - Donuts....it's a plus and a minus. Small selections for a "factory", great bear claw... so so custard filled chocolate glazed... - Parking, as most places are around that area, even Ralphs has a small parking lot so street is most convenient. Other than that, it's almost up there with my go to K's Donuts. Just this place is a little out of the way, but I wouldn't mind stopping by here every once and a while when I'm driving home from Target/Bevmo/Petco. read more

The older gentleman was the sweetest and even gave me extra donuts which are actually really good. The boba was such a nice texture, soft and chewy like it was just made, and the thai tea was amazing. I've been in here a few times and always found them pleasant enough, but I walked by last night after they had closed up and saw through the window that quite a lot of their donuts were left in the cases, uncovered and unprotected- doors to the cases wide open. Knowing their food is virtually unprotected from bugs and rodents, not to mention completely stale, makes me not want to go there again. read more

I love this place. I walked from my place down the block because I was craving a donut. To my surprise they had a very large menu with tons of delicious sandwiches, and fresh fruit juices and smoothies, they even have boba! So I ended up getting more than what I'd planned--a breakfast sandwich, mocha boba, and two donuts all for $8. They're very friendly and owned by a sweet Asian family I think. Love! This little place makes pretty good doughnuts, I'd say better than your average Mom and Pop shop. I had their, glazed, sugar, chocolate glazed custard filled, raspberry filled and apple fritter, all tasty and fresh. However, I didn't see or taste apples in the apple fritter so that was a bit disappointing. Perhaps they forgot, but, wow, it was one of the best looking apple fritters I've seen. It was big and it was of a deep, dark, golden brown color (the way I like'em) all shiny from the hardened glaze, it was beautiful! I've been overly obsessed with sugary fried dough lately, and have been on a quest to find the best, independently owned, Mom and Pop doughnut shoppes in the L. A. area, preferrably in the SFV, cuz that's where I live, and this is the best shop I've found so far in the Valley. I prefer theirs over the USA Donut shop up the street, and they make pretty good fried dough. Anyhow, if you're in the area and craving doughnuts or want to treat your undeserving, slacker co-workers to a sugar high on a happy Friday morning, you won't be dissappointed and your colleagues will appreciate it. read more

The owner tried to rip me off by telling me I gave her $5, not a $10... I stop there at least once, if not 2 times a week. She refused to count her drawer because she doesn't ring up half her sales, which means she's pocketing the overages and not paying taxes like the rest of us! I told her I'd call the police over $5, and report her to the BBB! I WAS a good customer and she stood there and argued with me in front of 5-6 people in the store. After getting my phone out, she handed me my $5 bucks. What a schmuck! read more

Yes please! I know donuts are terrible for me and loaded with transfat but I go here once a week anyway. Their donuts are wonderful. Just do yourself a favor and have one and don't worry about the rest. I also like the no frills vibe, and on any given day there are senior citizens out front reading the paper and workmen coming for their morning grub, sure signs of a quality local establishment. Very inexpensive, cash only. The only con in my book is that their coffee is scalding hot and served in styrofoam cups, so the eco-conscious should definitely bring their own thermos and plan on waiting a while for it to come to drinkable temp. read more

I was on my way to work this morning and decided to bring donuts 2 my co - workers. Although I live in simi valley and I should have gotten donuts here before heading to the sf valley. I figured if I get them in sherman oaks they would be fresher since I am 2 minutes from work, opposed to driving in the hellish 405 for 1 hour and the donuts and chocolate sticking to one another in the 107° heat. Anyhow i decided to try this place just to be super disappointed. so I asked how much for a dozen $8.00 she replied, which is a bit more then my local donut shop in simi valley. I thought what the hell, let me get them anyways. After selecting the dozen it was time to pay. As soon I walked over to the register and pulled out my ATM I noticed a 1 inch by 2 inch hand written sign the size of a stick of gum wrapper taped to the register reading "cash only" WTF?? I keep a couple buck on me for tips but not enought to purchase the dozen donuts. I apologized to the clerk that unfortunately I didn't have the right amount of cash on me. She then quickly pointed at a booshie a** ATM machine inside the donut shop. I was like "Oh hell no" after the ATM surcharge and the bank fee for not using a chase ATM I would end up paying $12 instead of $8. I threw up my duces and said" later!" to her. Bottom line this place was a complete waste of time and inconsiderate of their customers. Donut factory would rather have their patrons pay a $4 dollar surcharge rather then, them paying the $ .25 cent charge per transactions most credit card machine leasers charge the business per transaction. read more
