This hidden gem truly surprised me! I've already come back for the egg, ham, and (extra) cheese on an everything bagel -- absolutely delicious! I love that it's family-owned; you can taste the passion they put into their food. Every breakfast sandwich feels homemade and fresh -- real QUALITY. The donuts are incredibly soft! They might not be covered in flashy decorations, but the freshness and flavor speak for themselves -- that's what makes them worth it. Thank you to the two ownere for your care and dedication. You've definitely gained a loyal customer -- I'll be coming back again and again!

Food was inedible. I came hungover starving and I ended up throwing away 75% of the food. I only ate the other 25% because I needed sustenance. I feel sick to my stomach after eating. It tasted like they haven't cleaned their pan in years and like they reused old oil.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute, small and friendly little eatery.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I walked in one early morning and ordered 2 toasted Everything bagels with cream cheese and tomato, fresh squeezed orange juice and a vanilla latte, to-go. Bagels were fresh and soft, tomato was fresh and orange juice was amazing too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Parking spaces in front, you can sit and eat there too, and lots of other small eatery items on the menu too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was stopping to see my friend/hairstylist one very early Saturday morning to do my hair for a wedding, and wanted to pickup breakfast for us both. But I didn't want to wait for long or get fast food. This place was perfect. Staff was pleasant and I was in and out.

I walked in and stood there for about 5 minutes waiting for someone to help me. I walked around in hopes that they would see me and come help me until I asked a "customer " eating if there was anyone there and he then yelled for one of them to come over. A lady came to help me and she was super nice and I thought okay maybe they were just busy let me give them a chance. I did get my order quick but when I finally sat down to eat my food this was my ham croissant with cheese on less then a quarter or the croissant they could have AT LEAST put it in the center to make it look like it has more cheese?? Smh

Wow! Just have to say wow! This place is amazing, busy and the service impecable. Never been to this part of the valley but I was craving a lox and avocado bagel. Didn't even have to wait long enough. I got an everything bagel thinking I was only going to get cream cheese, lox and avocado but nope they added cucumber, pickles, tomato, lettuce, and red onions. Couldn't believe the size of both sides but luckily my friend came to the rescue haha. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small mom and pop shop but it's really clean and just a genuine place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A definite must try and definitely recommend.

Cute small neighborhood spot, parking available on the small lot. Friendly owners making a bunch of delicious bagels & juice blends! I had the strawberry mango smoothie and it was definitely sweet, nicely blended, & delicious. If you need a quick snack or pick-me-up, come visit!

We have wanted to try this place out for a while and we are so glad we did today! The staff was super friendly and I was so excited to try their specialty donuts! They were so soft and tasted very fresh! They have Vegan options as well, so I will be trying those and their fresh juices next time.

I used to be a loyal customer of this establishment, ordering delivery at least once a week. Recently, I decided to treat my mom to breakfast from here after she tried my meal and loved the food and coffee. While placing the order through DoorDash, a discount was automatically applied at checkout, something I didn't add myself and frankly didn't give a second thought to, as I was out running errands with my husband and our newborn. Nearly an hour later, I checked in with my mom, only to find out the food had never arrived. Shortly afterward, I received a call from the owner, questioning how I obtained the discount code. He claimed the delivery driver was turned away because he didn't understand the discount and insisted on canceling the order, stating he was "losing money." I calmly explained that the discount had been automatically applied by DoorDash and that he should take up any issues with them not the customer. I certainly didn't hack the system or manually apply a promotion. The owner refused to fulfill the order. To cancel someone's meal over an automatically applied $15 discount especially when it was no fault of the customer is not only unprofessional but speaks volumes about the owner's priorities. For a business that seemed to be doing well, this level of greediness and lack of customer service is disappointing. I have no interest in supporting an establishment that places such disproportionate value on a few dollars over basic decency and customer loyalty. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. UPDATE: I just checked Doordash and turns out the store has a $15 reward for every $150 spent at their location. Like I said, I use to order from here EVERY week so the reward is rightfully mine but unfortunately they have a greedy and miserable business owner. Please see pic where it details the promotion.

If you ever in the area and want fresh hot coffee and some tasty yummy Bagel breakfast sandwiches or donuts this is the place. Cesar and Maria have the warmers welcoming attitudes that makes you want to eat there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Enjoy the news while eating there...[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Bought a few of their speciality doughnuts to try and truly regretted it. You can instantly taste & smell the bad oils they use to fry their doughnuts. The aftertaste was aweful. I don't recommend any of the ones I got from the photo (lemon, matcha, caramel, creme Brule, cinnamon roll, etc).

Delicious donuts and very nice staff! I'm lucky that i live nearby but it would be worth driving a bit for. They also have vegan options if you are looking for that!

Are those mochi donuts I also see in the case?

They have them only on weekends.

    What are their hours?

    M - F 6am - 5pm Sat - Sun 8am - 5pm

Do you deliver through any services like DoorDash etc?

I believe they are on UberEats and Postmates- I haven't checked other apps

I loved my farmers market margarita, and seed smoke mezcal cocktail, they were not overly boozy, but had been made with an even blend of flavor and dressed with complimentary ingredients. As we were all men, it was pretty stereotypical that we ordered almost exclusively protein dishes lol. Each meat on the table was tender, juicy, and very savory. The food has been enjoyable on my previous visits, which is why this last experience stood out. The food I ordered tasted great, and the beer and cocktails were excellent. Unfortunately, my friend's burger was served cold and wasn't cooked to his liking despite being specific about what condiments he could and could not consume. What disappointed me most was that our table felt rushed. From the time we sat down until the check was brought out, exactly one hour had passed. We were still enjoying ourselves and wanted to order another couple rounds of drinks, but the check arrived so quickly that it felt like we were being encouraged to wrap things up rather than continue our evening. I would've thought that was okay if the restaurant was busy, but it truly wasn't. Aside from our booth being in use, there were some people at the bar, another 2 booths occupied towards the kitchen side, and one table behind us at the corner in use, so it wasn't about them being busy. I'm hoping this was just a one-time experience because I've genuinely enjoyed my previous visits and would like to come back. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, and I hope future visits feel a little more relaxed and allow guests to enjoy their time without feeling rushed to pay and leave.

Sampa is located in the Arts District near the intersection of S Hewitt St and E 5th right next to Urth Cafe. If it's your first time visiting Sampa, you have to be open minded towards the concept itself. Yes, the dishes here are smaller in portion and costs more than your typical fast casual spot. All the servers here are attentive and offer to help with what to order if you're unsure. For dinner, the Crispy Pasta is their take on crispy pata but served with spinach tagliatelle. The crab fat fried rice is a no brainer and depending on the night you come, I highly recommend the Sinigang xiaolongbao special. It's where they grill certain items, lobster, ribeye, skirt steak, the intestinal part of a chicken (?). So, not tacos but grilled meats so we stayed. twist. First of all, it's a lovely space. In a not very obvious area of DTLA, next to Urth Cafe but no other restaurants. We didn't have reservations so we had the option of sitting at the bar or following the waitress to a back room area instead of the front room that is visible to everyone. My son is a minor, so to the back we went! Seriously, the closer we got to the back room the more I felt I had been cast in "The Chef." Scary! Lol! The back room is black. Blackout black! Black tablecloths, walls, chairs, dark, low light. Very luxurious and open space. Which - because it wasn't full at the time - felt a bit like being in the film, The Menu." A bit too upscale and empty to feel comfortable. More guests arrived later, a large table, so that was more comforting. The food: Recommended *Kara Kara Tamales: braised oxtail with a peanut butter sauce. Wow! The taste was wonderful! Hard to explain but Filipino/African food meets Latin food. It was on the "shared plate" menu, which to me means it will be a lot. But the 2 tamales were not very big. Still, they were so rich that the 2 really were sufficient to share. Quite filling. I couldn't get enough of the sauce! *Crab fried rice: Very tasty and generous portion. Plenty share! Not recommended: The street eats menu. Now, this is what pulled us in - the sights and smells of the food being grilled outside the restaurant. Most of which was on this meme. Like a tasting menu. But for price to portion ratio, it simply isn't worth it. I ordered the skirt steak. 4 oz, cut in half. Cooked down to what looked like .5 oz! Each on a toothpick sitting in a paper plate (or maybe it was cupcake holder?) IDK. I just know it wasn't a good presentation and the taste wasn't memorable. Regular. More grill smell than taste. Not at all worth $8. Service: Really nice. And mostly good. Though they did fail short by (1) Using only small appetizer size plates and (2) Not bringing a fresh plate to eat the crab fried rice on after the peanut butter sauce laced tamale appetizer was eaten. The server brought the fried rice, but didn't bother to give us fresh plates (nor silverware). My son was mortified when I grabbed a plate from one of the empty tables! (Teenager energy on full effect). But after initial attentive service, the variety of different servers whizzing by didn't stop to ask if we needed anything. And I sat waiting at least 8 minutes staring at the rice. I assured my young man that the servers would be fine with me getting another plate to save them from having to. And once I did, he suddenly started eating from my plate of my peanut butter free fried rice. And of course, when a server did attend to us and I let her know, she was glad I took matters into my own hands instead of not eating for 15 minutes. Thoughts: Go for dinner, and order from the full dinner menu, skip the skimpy street eats menu. With reservations you can sit in the main restaurant area that has some view to the outdoors. Without it - back to the black room you go! Know that it will be expensive. And it will be original. Not sure I'll go back. It's very "special occasion" upscale dining. But If I do it'll be with reservations. The meal was memorable and worth experiencing.

The staff was super friendly while taking our orders and dropping the food off, which is always appreciated. I ended up ordering the Santo's Turkey Melt which is smoked turkey, grilled onions, Swiss cheese, and chipotle aioli served on sourdough with a side of french fries. The sandwich was really good and the same can be said for the french fries and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of fries given, so thumbs up to that. Lastly, I really dug the tostadita de atún. It hit perfectly on these hot summer days. Low-key, I still want to try the El Rey de Noche. Tacos de beef trompo are starting to hit LA, and dude was ahead of the curve making picanha-brisket tacos de trompo. Service is smooth too. The servers are helpful, and solid at the bar. Overall, it's a cool spot with a menu that feels unique to LA.

Wow - I'm impressed with this place! First off, the restaurant environment is beautiful, with…read morecovered outdoor seating and in a building filled with art. But seating is still comfortable and not stuffy / pretentious. The food is truly above average even amongst restaurants of similar caliber. Some stand outs from the appetizers: the biscuits, served warm, so soft and buttery with the perfect spreads. The albacore spread. Their salads are actually great (this is coming from me, usually a salad hater.) The potato appetizers. Now from the entrees: I was pretty shocked by the eggs benedict popover and the bacon steak. Namely because these are generally pretty straightforward brunch dishes, but they were just so much better here than other places I've had them. I don't know what the secret is for the benedict popover - is it something they put in the benedict sauce? The way the ingredients come together? Whatever it is, it's perfect. For the bacon steak - it cut like butter, and wasn't too salty, sweet, or chewy / thick. So good! The service has also been great here each time I've come, both in a large party (10+ people) and in a small group. The food somehow still comes out when you expect it to and the staff is friendly and helpful. Reservations recommended especially for big groups!
