I go past this place on my way to work. I always say I'm going to stop one day and try their donuts. Well, today I stopped and this little place is amazing. I purchased an apple fritter and a custard eclair. I couldn't wait to try the eclair so I tried it in the car and it was delicious. I can't believe I ate the whole thing by the time I got to work, it's huge! I put the apple fritter on a plate with a knife for my coworkers to enjoy and boy did they. The cake we received for my son birthday was very disappointing and how they handled it was even more disappointing Been ordering from Donut land for years and never had a problem before I'm so shocked and I will never go back. I tried to contact them the day we picked up the cake and they ignored my message it was a week later after sending another message someone finally back to me and the manager/ owner or who ever blamed us for not looking at the cake before we left I told her I sent my dad to pick up the cake and then she told me whoever baked the cake isnt the same person who handed it out and then awkwardly tried to rush me off the phone without even attempting to compensate or apologize and this is a week after my sons brithday they finally got back to me after I left messages so we couldn't even have them just fix the cake with more blue icing to cover and new writing but it also had way too much filling once we got it home and cut into it and having to ask for half a dozen to make up for this was awkward enough I show up to get the order and they had NOTHING for me The lady I spoke to on the phone comes out and said she didnt have an order for me even though she took my name over the phone she blamed be for coming before close she didnt have anything set aside for me when on the phone she asked me what kind of half dozen did I want to pick up I said glazed and strawberry frosted with sprinkle she took my name and then when I show up she had an attitude and never set aside an order for me and she told me whatevers here thats what you can get The donuts they were getting ready to throw away then told me I could try again another day?!?! None of their cakes on social media look like that I understand having new bakers and training new employees but it's no excuse to treat customers the way I was treated and having to ask for a half a dozen donuts to make up for it and I felt bad I even had to ask and it wasn't even there when I went to pick it up! I assumed at 10pm they would be out of a lot, but there were still so many good choices! They had filled options (Paczki style) that included Apple, lemon, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, custard, vanilla, and my personal favorite- chocolate cream (a smooth, light whipped chocolate filling, not too overbearing my sweet)! It's hard to make a fresh donut that isn't amazing. Some stores like Dunkin' Donuts make average donuts that are still pretty tasty. While I wouldn't put these in the top 10 donuts I've had (mostly due to lack of creativity ... all the donuts were pretty much your standard flavors) they were fresh and addictive. My favorite was the one with white coconut flakes all over it. Any of the chocolate glazed cake donuts were fantastic. WOW! I read all the reviews about Donut Land and thought to myself... They're donuts - what could be so special about DONUTS?! So I set out on a journey to give these donuts a try. And I discovered they aren't JUST DONUTS. They are a LITTLE BIT OF HEAVEN ON EARTH! Not only are their donuts amazing but their staff was friendly and accommodating. In fact, Malorie, grand daughter of the owner, went out of her way to make me some strawberry cream "long johns"... no extra charge! (I did give her a dollar tip though.) They were so delicious that I'm surprised they don't offer them in strawberry. (Tell them you would like to try a strawberry cream filled donut or long john the next time you go there.) What is the problem with these businesses today you go out of your way to support them and give them your money and they turn you away empty-handed! I live in Parma Heights so it's a half hour drive each way to Donutland! I had checked the website and it said that you needed to place an order if you were ordering 5 dozen or more otherwise feel free to just walk in! Which is what I did because I was only buying 6 paczki! We walked in and waited because there was a couple people ahead of us. We get to the front and we're told we needed to place an order and that there's a two hour wait!!!! I just got off work and you want me to stand around for two hours!!! I told her that I came from Parma Heights! It's not like I can just go home a couple minutes down the road and then come back two hours later! But again, their Facebook page said I didn't need to place an order! So of course, I was upset and said I wasn't waiting two hours and the snotty lady at the counter said have a nice day in a condescending way! Donut land hands down has the best donuts I have ever had. I have friends from out of town who NEED a donut from here every time they visit.

While this place is called "Donut Land" don't be discouraged if you are a muffin lover, they carry those here too. The location has been the same for the past decade or so next to the Walgreen's so most of the interior is original to the store as once when it opened. It is very small on the inside with the counter on the left side to sit at and order and tables to the right where you can sit at and eat but there are only a few of these so it is best to just order and go if you don't want to stay. If you get bored, they also have vintage game machines in the backroom that still work to this day. The same can be said for the old soda machine next to the door...retro flashbacks anyone? The store is also very clean for its size and age but you will see the occasional crumb or two but nobody's perfect, it's not disgusting to sit in at all. Moving the store itself aside, the donuts are what makes this donut shop the ideal place to visit on any morning. They have a large selection of any donut you can think from the traditional jelly donuts to chocolate éclairs and even to muffins if that's your taste. Some other donuts that they have are custard, chocolate frosted, cinnamon, glazed, and "long johns" which are essentially many donuts in one long rope topped with either chocolate icing or vanilla crème. If you wish to try this, I highly recommend the vanilla crème one If you don't care about what you put in your body. Even though we went late in the day, it still tasted fresh and was worth the price paid for it (around $1.19). They also have amazing apple fritters if you are into those, which is what I sampled from my brother and I can say it is better then any other fritter I have tasted in the area. As I may not have said, it is best to come here in the morning because by noon, most of the popular donuts will be wiped out completely as most people come here around 7 to 10am to get them so come around when the store opens if you want to get the donut that you want. If you want that ideal donut at noon, it won't be very likely as if they are out of a certain flavor of donut, it will take at least a day for them to make again. So how about the prices? Well as some people are saying, they are a bit expensive compared to the chain places around the area but considering the great quality put into these donuts, an extra ten cents there is worth it when it comes to flavor. A bit sad that I can only come here about once a year or so but every time I stop by Brunswick again, I will definitely make sure to stop here for breakfast before I head out to enjoy the day...I mean, how can you resist donuts? Or well, if you don't really like those, how can you resist muffins?! read more
