I needed an early hours place for coffee/breakfast. This local joint came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Chorizo breakfast burrito, maple nut donut and a black coffee met my needs. I did not inhale all of these yummy goodies in one sitting. I had enough time to eat half of the burrito and have the coffee before my early morning start at 5:30am. This place sucks! They open at 5 am. I get there at 5:10 am and the guy working (popped up from behind the counter, messy hair - I swear he was sleeping and woke him up). I asked for a breakfast burrito and was told that he just turned on the grill and it would take 15 minutes for it to heat up. This is the worst employee ever. Great find in a strip mall close to work. Ordered an asada torta and it was ready super fast. The torta was the best I have had in quite awhile: the bread was fresh, meat slightly crispy, salsa with some heat and avocado/crema to balance it out. I'd love to try more food there but I'm too far away. We got a chorizo burrito and a cinnamon roll. Oh my goodness we're they both amazing! The burrito we split because it was huge! They give you salsa with it. It was so flavorful and packed. The cinnamon roll, I mean, the killed it. It was incredible! So light and almost bread-like. Not greasy. Perfect amount of icing. Ate a hot, fresh glazed donut right out of the oven that certainly beat anything I'd ever had from a Krispy Kreme: fluffy without being too doughy in taste. Perfect. Also had an amazing chorizo breakfast burrito. Great balance between feb ingredients and a really nice set of fresh flavors from their homemade pico and salsas. Spicy, but not overwhelming. Staff very friendly, seems to be a small family operation. And this bakery is like a ordinary bakery, got your doughnuts and such, but when I seen the menu, I was blown away from how much they sell. So I ordered me a burger ( DOUBLE CHEESEBURGER COMBO) and let me tell you, this burger was real good, and the fries were good as well, they give you steak fries, so that's a plus. It's a good sized burrito and for the reasonable price of less than $5. If you call ahead of time, they will fill a large order. Mom and I dropped in here to try out the donuts, as it's just around the corner from Valley Plaza and the Pacific Theaters. We ordered two donuts, a maple glazed with small bits of crunchy peanuts covering it and a custard filled chocolate frosted donut and split them both. The maple was good; it was both fresh and fluffy, but the custard filled was much better. there was a sufficient quantity of creamy custardy filling to provide for both cake and custard in every bite. The pastry part of the donut was neither too dry nor gooey from contact with the custard, essentially a Goldilocks effect - just right. We paid $2.10 for both donuts including tax. The signs inside actually refer to this as the Estrella Bakery Cafe which is a more appropriate name since not only did they carry donuts and a wide variety of Mexican cookies and pastries but carried a full menu of Mexican food and burgers to boot. There were breakfast burritos ($3.75), quesadillas, tortas, tacos, enchiladas, flautas, and a variety of burgers starting at $4.25. Tasty breakfast burritos. Husband ordered bacon potatoe n egg, I ordered ham egg beans n cheese. Bacon is crispy and potatoes are well done, not hard or raw. The burritos are not big, but a descent size. Potatoe and beans fillings are larger ratio to eggs, but we love potatoe n beans so not a problem. Red salsa was tangy and picosa, very good. The breakfast burritos are insanely good. The burritos alone are five stars. I've had the sausage, chorizo, and bacon. They are $4.30 and are pretty good in size. For $1 you can add an extra meat. Bacon and chorizo are my two favorite meats to combine. Instead of just scrambled eggs, it's like a flat egg wrapped around with the tortilla. They also don't overstuff the burrito with potatoes so it's not as dry. They only have one type of salsa, but it has a nice flavor to it. Alfonso's used to be my favorite place for breakfast burritos, but this is my new fav. The reason for taking a star off is because the ambience is not that great. Also, I've had the donuts here and they are just average. Nevertheless, I will keep coming back here for those tasty burritos. read more

As I walked in there was people sitting on the tables. I thought to myself I made a good decision this is probably good food. As I stood by the cash register one of the guys sitting down got up I realized they were the owners/workers/family members because they all went to the back . This place needs to focus on cleaning up I could see bills/mail bags of random stuff throughout very unorganized an old piñata hanging from the ceiling. Her mom and dad greeted me and dad took my order for a breakfast burrito with sausage and all the fixins. He went in back to prepare it, and I sat and chatted with my new little friend. We talked about her cartoon, I told her about the show 'Sister Sister', she told me how her dad makes all of the cakes in the bakery and I expressed my envy that she would have such an amazing baker for a dad and access to so many delicious things. When the burrito was ready, I was so excited to eat it that I almost ran out without saying goodbye to my friend. I had to add a few tamales to the order once I saw those on the menu as well. The burrito was pretty delicious, as the reviews promised. The potatoes were my favorite because of the seasoning of black pepper and the way they were cooked to perfection. I'm not a fan of too much meat (in my burritos) so I just got sausage in mine, and that worked perfectly for me. All ingredients were on point and I was happy as a lark in the sunshine. The tamales were good, but dry, so I probably wont revisit them. That burrito though. Food makes me so happy. Grabbed some donut holes, a slice of mexican bread pudding and a couple of chocolate glazed donuts while I was there. My kid raved about the freshness of the donut holes and my husband loved the chocolate glaze on the donut. My burrito was HUGE and amazing. Everyone I know claims certain restaurants have the best breakfast burritos, so I'll try it and it's nothing compared to here. This place cooks the potatoes perfectly. They are tender, moist, and do not dry out the burrito (like most places). Also, the eggs are wrapped with the burrito unlike your traditional scrambled eggs. I was a big fan of this place until about five months ago. I enjoyed the breakfast burritos and also took home some of the canned sauces and vegetables on display. Usually I would eat a breakfast burrito about once a week. Lately the burritos I have purchased are 80 to 90 percent potatoes. If they are selling burritos with that many potatoes how bout calling them potato burritos. And don't get me started on the tamales. Bought six for $9.00 on Friday, pork chile rojo. Spouse is out of town going to use them for food over the weekend. Opened up the tamales Friday evening and had two. The tamales are about an inch and a half around. The pork chile rojo inside is about the size of a common pencil. Yes the six tamales I bought for $9.00 probably weighed close to two pounds and I bet there was not a quarter pound of meat filling mixture. I took them ALL outside and threw them in the trash. An absolute rip-off. Probably my last visit. Who needs their fucking masa tamales and potato burritos anyhow? read more
