​I was incredibly disappointed with my experience here. The food was not good at all, and the salsa was completely watered down. ​Beyond the food quality, there was a major customer service and hygiene issue. The cashier was not friendly at all and was actively using her cell phone while handling fresh radishes. Touching a personal phone while handling ready-to-eat produce is a huge food safety concern. ​Between the poor service, subpar food quality, and lack of basic hygiene standards, I won't be returning. Management needs to address this immediately. read more

This is the definition of hole in the wall. Small taco shop on one side of a small building with a drive thru. I ordered two carne asada burritos in the drive thru and it took about 5 mins total and the guy was friendly. The food was ok, green salsa wasn't my favorite. I order two Carne Asada burrito. You might is we'll change the name to rice burrito. It was 90% Rice 10% meat. I don't know what's up with Bakersfield but they don't make Carne Asada Burrito like southern cal. I expect meat salsa and guacamole in my carne asada. Hands down the best breakfast burrito in town. What can be better than that? How about its affordable price? $5.25 for a burrito loaded with scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage and cheese. You can also choice other meets such as bacon or chorizo both of which I have tried and loved. Also, a large soda there is only $2.25, so I can get a burrito and drink for under ten dollars and it's fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly and always helpful. One caution, the drive thru line can be long because they make everything from scratch so don't expect it to be as quick as a fast food line but trust me, it's worth extra wait. My wife and I got breakfast burritos to go. They were very good and although it took a bit for them to prepare them, I can totally see why people are willing to wait in line for them. I came here around 730 am to grab breakfast to go. I drove around twice bc it looked closed. I finally saw the small lit Drive Thru sign. The menu wasn't on and no one answered from the menu mic. A man waved me to the window. I ordered 5 shredded beef crunchy tacos ($3.25 each). It took a long time to get the order. The tacos are small, little meat and ingredients. Back in the day (2015-2019), I'd have given a 4 star+ rating, but the business seriously needs to reinvest in itself. I wonder if they are struggling and cannot do it. The menu sign has been damaged and out of wack for years, the D-T speaker hasn't worked for quite a while, and wait times are usually long. The food is good, and the prices are generally fair, but I went from a regular to a here-and-there customer. I used to get 4-5 full green sauces for my burrito and would down em all since they have an awesome salsa verde, but they started charging for sauces after you get 2 and sometimes the sauce containers are only half-filled. All-in-all, I still consider Alfonso's a place to go and get tasty burritos, but ever since COVID days I think twice about it. read more

Unfortunately last weekend one of our burritos had egg shells This restaurant typically only has two people working taking orders in the front, drive thru and cooking so it's EXTREMELY slow. Currently sitting in the drive thru as I write this review and we've only moved ONE car up and it's been almost thirty minutes. So far two cars have backed up and left. I ordered a super breakfast burrito with Carne Asada as my choice of meat. It was supposed to include pico de gallo eggs, potatoes, and of course, Carne Asada however, the Carne Asada was nowhere to be found. There was minimal egg and I basically paid for a potato burrito with a couple pieces of eggs sprinkle in. I have had positive experiences in the past so I will give them another chance and hope that they won't let me down next time. read more

Highly disappointed in the service I have received at this restaurant. About a week and a half ago I ordered an asada burrito asking for them to replace the pico de gallo with cilantro and onion and additionally add cheese and sour cream. When I received my order, it was missing the cilantro and the onion And kept the burrito as I found out until I got home. I just bought another simple Asada burrito today and as you can see in the picture, they forgot to add the beans and rice. I make sure to inform them of the issue with the last order and I was wanting to only add sour cream and onion, but it looks like that's all it had. read more

My flour tortilla was brittle, tough and crunchy. That's great for a chimichanga but not a breakfast burrito. I will gladly pay up at Taco Bros, Leo's or Donut Nation. I've visited Alfonso's so many times over the years and they have always had decent food. They give quite a bit of food for decent prices. During this crazy time with COVID19 we have probably ordered a few times now and we have been pretty happy with our orders. I have never had a bad breakfast burrito here. They have a lot of different breakfast burrito options and trust me... if you have teenagers, they will get full with that burrito. Lunch and dinner options are really good too. They have pretty good chili relleno and I'm a fan of their enchiladas. They have these rolled tacos that are pretty good too with shredded beef... yum. Location is a plus for me because it's pretty close to home and not to mention they have drive-thru which is always a plus during this pandemic. Love that they are on board with safety. When you get to the window, they have their gear on. Masks and gloves and you can see through the window that they are prepping and handling with safe precautions. I definitely think you guys should come support this family owned business, especially during this time. Restaurant is clean, food is good and they are following safety precautions. read more
