We were in the area and stopped by Ay Mi Pa on a whim! The decor is amazing, the ceiling details and lights and everything looks awesome inside. When we entered we were met at the hostess stand and asked to sit at the bar as we just wanted to get some drinks while we waited for family. The restaurant wasn't busy and there was a band setting up for later - I wish we had planned to come back for that - they looked fun! The drinks were awesome and the glassware is really cool! The bartender answered our questions and was really nice. We will be back to try some more!

I came with a party of 8 people on a weekday evening for dinner. It wasn't very busy, so we were able to get our food relatively quickly. The interior is very beautiful and cozy. I ordered the Bad Girl drink which was very sweet and fruity. I got the Jeffe skillet which was delicious - I loved the wide variety of meats I got to try, and the corn was amazing. The churros were also delicious with the caramel sauce. Overall, I had a great experience and will be back for more churros!

Our experience here was good. The service was great , very attentive staff. The food was mid. Nothing really stood out for me to come back for food ... the ambiance was really nice. There was a DJ , the place had a great vibe ! The drink I order was really good. Price wise it was normal compare to restaurant similar to this. I would probably return for the ambiance .

Shout out to our server Julian! He took such good care of us, we never ran out of drinks. He spoke with us often and made sure we were okay! I can definitely say I will be back and ask for him specifically! Way to go Julian! They don't make servers like you!!

Okay, this place was such a nice surprise for one the ambiance and two the delicious food! We got there before the dinner rush and got seated quick. Service was very kind and friendly, and accommodating because we had my baby with us. I heard they have live music here and i was hesitant that would be too much for my baby, but thankfully we were early enough so no live loud music. Food was DELICIOUS!! I understand the hype of this place, i just dont like thats its in mall... thats a bust but for this place i will come again. Everything we ate was delicious, no problems.

Drinks were amazing! The margarita flight was perfect -- $15 for three and definitely worth it. Beers were ice cold, the music was really good, and the food tasted good too. Only downside is the portions were pretty small for the price. Service wasn't bad or great, but it passed. Other than that, everything was great. The inside atmosphere looks really nice too. Would definitely come back for drinks.

    Ribeye vampiro tacos. Delish!!

We stopped in on Sunday for an early dinner and had about a 15 minute wait while they set up tables. The service was friendly and helpful. The food was very, very good. The ribeye vampiro tacos were some of the best tacos I've had in a long time. The salsa that came with it was very smokey and a bit too spicy for my taste, but my husband loved it on his Arrachera steak. We were both very happy with our entrees, and with the Chicharron de pork belly appetizer. The decor was very nicely done, and my only issue with the ambiance was the volume of the music was a bit loud for my old ass. Overall I would recommend this spot for the food and a night out with friends, but maybe not for a place to have a conversation over dinner.

Delicious taco Tuesday. Chicken tacos and salsa

My sister and our girls were shopping at the mall and decided to eat there. My sister has been there several times and this was my first time there. It was definitely a cute restaurant and had a romantic atmosphere. We asked to split our check before ordering and we were told we couldn't (our party was small two adults, two children and an infant) so we didn't understand why not. We placed our order and the tacos and salsa were definitely delicious and a good size for taco Tuesday and good flavor. I ordered chicken tacos. What I didn't like was the server (Esmeralda A) continuously kept speaking to us in Spanish just because we were Hispanic when we kept speaking English. From our table, only my sister was fluent in Spanish. When I would respond in English, she would give me a look like she didn't like me speaking English, which was upsetting. To top it off, we asked another server about splitting the check and he said we could. When we let Esmeralda know she was extremely argumentative and wanted us to pointe out which server told us, which was very unprofessional! The check was also wrong so we let her know and she became agitated and argumentative stating we were wrong. We had to simplify what 3 plus 2 equaled and then she understood and changed the receipt after arguing and asking the person who brought out the food how many he brought out, he ensured her we were correct. We spoke to the supervisor about our concern and she was dismissive at first but told us to ask for her later on. The food was amazing but the service was extremely horrible... almost the worst I've encountered!

Honestly we got the WORST service possible. They took over 20 mins to get our drink orders and then another 15 to bring them out. We paid $20 each for our drinks and it didn't come with the cucumber or pineapple... My Caesar salad had DAY OLD/ stale croutons. The smash burger was good, I'd go back for that and the fries were well seasoned. The birria tacos were okay.

A pleasant surprise! Went here for Sunday brunch with some friends and I had a great time. There's enough variety in the brunch, chilaquiles, tacos, omelette station, rice, beans, potatoes, meat, veggies, etc. I, especially, loved the sweets sections. The fresh waffles with berries and whipped cream and flan were delicious! The price is fair and it's a lovely place! The interior is beautiful. We had great service, they checked in often and refilled the bottomless mimosas. I like the ambiance during the day, but will return for dinner one evening to try their mains and cocktails.

We came here for my son's birthday and we were a party of 10. The transformation inside the restaurant was impressive and you almost forget it's attached to the mall. Our server was great, he was very attentive and helped with anything we needed. The food was nothing spectacular. It came out like mediocre and warm. The presentation was nice, the rice and beans were actually the table favorite. We ordered a variety of items including the birria tacos, the Diablo shrimp, a grilled chicken ceasar salad, the enchilada trio, enchiladas suizas, a steak burrito and the ribeye steak dinner. The chicken ceasar salad, and the ribeye was the best of the dinners, as well as the steak burrito. A few ordered the birria tacos and no one liked them. All of enchilada plates were luke warm which is always a disappointment. We may try again but I feel like at the price point we should at least be served warm food. With no alcohol, no appetizers and no desserts our meal was around $400 with the tip. I don't mind this price point I just wish everyone was happier with their meals. But i will be back.

The ambiance is very no frills and clean. The service was relatively quick after we ordered. I ordered the lunch bento with hand rolls of salmon avocado and tuna avocado. I also had salmon belly and otoro. The hand rolls were quite large and very tasty. The salmon belly was very tender and delicious. The otoro was the star of the show - it's my absolute favorite cut of tuna and I order it whenever I get the chance! It was so tender and melted in my mouth! We had dinner here and it was both of our first-time. I really hate that I have to give this place a 4 but it's because the spicy edamame was not to my liking and they do not carry pineapple soju. The food is definitely a must try, especially the beautiful yellowtail sashimi. The seafood yakisoba was so delicious. I did not care much for the baked salmon roll, Love Sushi takes first place for that roll and Prime Sushi take first place for spicy edamame. The crazy tuna roll I ordered was so big! The crunchy pieces on top can stand to sit in some absorbing paper towels because they were a bit oily but went well with the Tuna dance. I personally did not care for the bluefin tuna. Overall my babe and I enjoyed our dinner and will most definitely return for more.

I'm glad we did, because it gave us a whole new feel for the place. Inside isn't massive, but it's not cramped either. Think of it like the Goldilocks of restaurant spaces: just right. The vibe leans calm and cozy, dim lighting, black walls, and splashes of color here and there. It's got that "peaceful sushi zen" atmosphere without being boring. Our waitress deserves a medal (or at least an extra roll on the house). She was the only one working the floor, yet somehow managed to be friendly, attentive, and efficient all at once. Multitasking level: expert. Now onto the food, which is really why we came back. We ordered a spread: two teriyaki chicken plates, one chicken ramen bowl, an order of sushi crunch rolls, egg rolls, a large pineapple sake, a beer, and two iced teas. (Yes, we came hungry. Don't judge.) Everything came out quickly, hot, and fresh. The chicken was juicy, the rice perfectly cooked, and the little bed of veggies under the teriyaki chicken was tender-crispy and surprisingly addictive. Whoever thought of tucking those under there deserves a raise. The ramen had bold flavors that hit the spot, and the sushi rolls lived up to their name, they really were crunchy and delicious. Now, the egg rolls. Let me tell you, these might just be the best I've ever had. Perfectly crisp on the outside, soft and stuffed with flavor on the inside. The kind that makes you regret ordering only one plate. Drinks? The beer was cold (and surprisingly affordable), the iced teas were strong and refreshing, and the pineapple sake... well, it was different, let's just say it's not everyone's cup of tea. Personally, I'll stick to tequila, lol, but my husband happily claimed the sake as his new favorite. Win-win. Prices here are fair and budget-friendly, which is always nice to see at a sushi spot. The place was clean and well-kept, and I'm happy to say it still holds up just as well as when I ordered takeout years ago. Bottom line: Shoyu Sushi is still doing its thing, fresh food, good prices, relaxing vibe, and service that makes you feel taken care of. If you want sushi that crunches, teriyaki that comforts, and egg rolls that just might ruin all other egg rolls for you, this is the spot.
