Tucked in the corner of a small strip center with a Verizon store keep your eyes out for it. I've been meaning to stop by for years on my way back and forth to/from the eastern shore and today was the day I finally made it. I've always heard Donut Shack had great donuts and it did not disappoint - the stop was well worth it and such a pick me up. Upon entering I was struck with the clean and cheerful retro interior and friendly service and even friendlier customers! Even at 12:30pm there was a nice selection of donuts to be had. I'm partial to cake donuts and the toasted coconut one was delicious. Haven't tasted the chocolate one yet. I'm usually driving by at later hours but I found out today they are currently open 24 hours so I'll be stopping by more often!

Finally found the best, old school, quality donuts. Brought me right back to my youth in NY. The sprinkles donut is best I ever had. Chocolate coconut amazing. Next time getting the giant cinnamon roll

Best of everything. Seriously top shelf. The staff is always awesome and they never have burnt coffee that's like sludge

Popped in here because a friend of mine recommended it to me, and they were ... right. To be honest, we just got a few donut holes and not all were totally fresh, but they did taste good. There's a front counter with a selection of donuts holes and other pastry things, and behind that, there's a wall with more selection of regular sized donuts. We tried the chocolate ones, the original glazed and sugar coated, and each of the three tasted good. They just could have been a little fresher. With that said, the guys behind the counter were friendly and efficient and the eating area was clean. Next time I'm in Severna Park, I'd come back for sure.

I haven't been here in quite a few years and was so disappointed! I was charged for 1 dozen donuts after only getting 7. Why am I being charged for a full dozen when receiving almost half a dozen?

We went slightly out of our way to stop at Donut Shack on an early Monday morning after crossing the Bay Bridge. It was worth the extra minutes in the car and the only problem I had was deciding which to get / stopping myself from getting all the donuts! The place is easy to locate off the main road in one of the shopping plazas, it has plenty of parking and they are in the end unit of that building, right by where you turn off the road (easy to locate!) The staff was friendly and helpful as I was weighing all the options. I finally settled on a strawberry filled powdered donut and a maple bacon donut. The strawberry donut was a great donut, but was a little sweet for me (not overly, but I'm a little sensitive to too much sugar). I saved the maple bacon for later in the day and it was just as delightful a few hours later! There is some seating so if I was looking for a place to plop down and enjoy a hot tea with my donut, I would have stayed - but easy enough to hop back on the road and hit the highway. I think Donut Shack will be the new go-to anytime I find my GPS suggesting a route through Severna Park!

I got half a dozen donuts here for the small group of my coworkers working today, and the donuts looked beautiful! I have to eat gluten-free due to celiac disease, so I appreciated that they also sold pre-packaged gluten-free donuts from Gluten-Free Bakery Girl.

    1/2 dozen of yum!

It might look tiny, but don't misjudge the coffee and other drinks they are making here! I actually went back after my first order to try another beverage, it was that good. I started with a Fall-flavored 'refresher,' though I can't honestly remember the name. But, it was amazing! I was down the strip a few shops for an event, so I popped back to The Big Bean before they closed for their "Not Ready for Winter" coffee concoction. Another winner! I also picked up a couple of biscotti for later. When we did finally get around to trying them, they were incredible! Very hard and crunchy as a biscotti should be, and perfect for soaking up some coffee for dunking. And the flavors are perfect. Other people were ordering their breakfast sandwiches, which honestly looked and smelled incredible... I just didn't have room for food that day. Or, I would have totally ordered one just based off of others' orders alone! The real five-star facet here, though, was the staff. They were very friendly and helpful, despite how busy they were. They still found time for friendly and cheerful banter while ringing everyone up. I don't think team members get enough credit when they go above and beyond, but please take the time to tip or at least acknowledge the fantastic folks here! Overall, it's a wonderful coffee shop that I wish were closer to home! And... had more parking! The number and orientation of spots here isn't ideal, but it's worth an extra walk (huge lot across the street) for the drinks, snacks, and people at The Big Bean. Outstanding overall experience!

TLDR: Overpriced, tea just wasn't good…read more I tried this place around a year ago because it had amazing reviews, but my drink was so terrible that I couldn't finish it. It had an awful metallic taste, which I think came from the lychee jelly (lychee is not supposed to taste like that). I drink a ton of boba, and have never had something so bad I couldn't finish it before. I came back today to try it again, since the reviews of this place are continuously amazing, and mine is the only bad review. The toppings were the worst part. The tapioca pearls had firm and dry cores (I think it was maybe undercooked), which really brought the drink down. The jelly was not good, and I wouldn't even call it "jelly" personally. It was essentially sugar and flavor pellets with a processed and unpleasant tangy aftertaste. The tea wasn't great either. I sampled their jasmine tea since I really like jasmine, but I wasn't a fan, and I can make better with cheap grocery store tea. I tried their oolong tea, which was decent, but the flavor felt pretty diluted unfortunately. I also tried the Hokkaido tea, which was very sweet, and didn't taste quite like Hokkaido tea in my opinion. Normally I don't mind when boba is sweet, but I feel this place is pushing it too much. I ended up getting a little bit of the Hokkaido tea, and about 5x that amount of the oolong tea (which was fully unsweetened), and it was definitely sweet enough for me. There's a drink I sometimes get when I'm at college called "crème brûlée ube brown sugar milk tea with brown sugar boba". I personally prefer to call it "diabetes in a cup". I think the sweetness of that drink would be comparable to a full cup of the Hokkaido tea. Additionally, $8.46 is an absurd price to pay for this. I can get better boba for $6 down the street, or much better boba for $6-8 about 15 minutes away. If I want genuinely good boba, there's some shops in Rockville that I happily pay $8 a cup for, and they blow this place out of the water. This would be 3 star tea if it was $6. The staff member was nice, and the building itself was cute. The staff member recommended the Hokkaido tea with a pump of brown sugar syrup. This is why I tried the Hokkaido tea, but I didn't opt for the brown sugar pump since I'm not a huge fan of brown sugar boba (I prefer fruit tea and more eastern new-style tea). The "build your own tea" is a fine gimmick, but I don't want to pay $8 for it, especially when the toppings you can add are low quality. Additionally, some places have enough customization on their menu that you can essentially build your own tea anyways.
